However, that doesn't mean that you can't start just that argument! It would simply have to go into the debate section rather than the Seekers section

Funny thing is i actually posted this in the debate section but a admin moved it to this section i dunno why =/

Im not going to deny the fact you know more about God and his intentions, but I know more about Apollyon and his and I know his intentions are different in both Christian text and that of a Satanistic text but both points of view are similar describing him as a king and its natural that in christian text that it would be said that God could control him but it is quite different in other religions.

The thing that dosnt change in both versions is that Apollyon knows he is no match for God and thats why he fights a different battle. The comment about God only letting Apollyon hurt those whom God lets. The question you should ask is if God could truely control him why would he give him that power to begin with.. which leads to the conclusion in our opinion that he cant control him at all.

And this isnt an opinion from a satanist, im actually a Christian. I just believe that there are forces out there that God cannot control and that why terrible things happen to good people.

They were not given power to kill them, but only to torture them for five months. And the agony they suffered was like that of the sting of a scorpion when it strikes a man. During those days men will seek death, but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them.

The locusts looked like horses prepared for battle. On their heads they wore something like crowns of gold, and their faces resembled human faces. Their hair was like women's hair, and their teeth were like lions' teeth. They had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was like the thundering of many horses and chariots rushing into battle. They had tails and stings like scorpions, and in their tails they had power to torment people for five months. They had as king over them the angel of the Abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek, Apollyon.

This is the story i am talking about and if you think about it it may not be word for word but i can fill in the gaps.

This power that is talked about wasnt give to Apollyon and his army by God it was given to him my Belial or Satan, Leviathan, or Lucifer whichever one created him and The prince intent was to make man suffer for worshiping your God because The princes battle was that with God. Apollyon betrayed the prince and now intends to use that power to kill all mortals not just make them suffer for 5 months because his battle is with man. It tells you of his army and that he is king over them.

Things change over time whatever his intentions were when the bible was wrote, people believe his intetions have changed since then.

God is stronger, but Satan is more appealing to many people, because he offers what you want and not what you need, like God does. Satan is not looking out for YOU so things that God says are bad Satan makes then look appealing. But God is always looking out for you and He doesn't glorify the bad; He shows things as they are. God gives you what helps you.

I dont agree with it being that obvious, i think a persons strength comes from their infulence, and the world is far from perfect and if this is blamed on Satan being a evil force and his influence to make people do "bad" things, then i would say that they are both very powerful icons and unable to rid the world of the other.

They are like Ying and Yang and i consider them to be equals.

I agree pretty much with Ayperos. God and Satan are nearly as powerful as one another. Only I think that God is slightly stronger because He did create everything including His arch nemesis.

God is stronger than satan because He is the creator while satan is the creation. Yeah, one might wonder why He can't just destroy satan but one day he will destroy satan and his works. biggrin.gif

Yeah I don't think it's that God can't destroy Satan, he just hasn't yet.

If God was less than all-powerful, than His power would've been dependent upon some other all-powerful force, and He would not properly be God.

If God was the strongest existing being, but was not Himself all-powerful, then He would've either 1) been reduced to nothing or 2) irreversibly reduced/incapacitated, considering He exists in eternity. (Since, logically, entropy would've demanded that His "reserves of power" would've been used up at a point in the infinite past)

Either God exists as the all-powerful being, or God doesn't exist. You cannot have a logical conception of God which denies His omnipotence.

GOD is more powerful than Satan.

First of all, He made Satan...
Second, the day will come when He destroys satan.

So yeah.

What are the forces that God cannot control? If He had the power to create the world out of nothing, then what is impossible for Him to do? In addition, God allows terrible things to happen to people to test their faith in Him, for chastisement to those who have erred, and people suffer for Christ: "Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church" (Colossians 1:24) KJV.

God Created Satan. Satan was the Guardian Angel who did wrong and was cast out of Heaven

13You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire emerald, and carbuncle; and crafted in gold were your settings and your engravings.
On the day that you were created they were prepared. 14You were an anointed guardian cherub I placed you; you were on the holy mountain of God; in the midst of the stones of fire you walked. 15You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created, till unrighteousness was found in you.
16In the abundance of your trade you were filled with violence in your midst, and you sinned;
so I cast you as a profane thing from the mountain of God, and I destroyed you, O guardian cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. 17our heart was proud because of your beauty you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor I cast you to the ground;I exposed you before kings, to feast their eyes on you. 18By the multitude of your iniquities, in the unrighteousness of your trade you profaned your sanctuaries;
so I brought fire out from your midst; it consumed you,and I turned you to ashes on the earth
in the sight of all who saw you. 19All who know you among the people are appalled at you; you have come to a dreadful end and shall be no more forever."
Ezekiel 28:13-19

This is a very long verse but it says alot it basically says that God chose Satan do be the Guardian Angel but he became Overwhelmed in Evil and to pay for what he did God sent him out of Heaven and into Hell to suffer.

God is much more powerful he created Satan and with his Power He was able to Cast Satan out because of his wrong doings.

God does have control over everything. He is the creator and sustainer of the universe. As I mentioned he is the creator of everything meaning he created time and knows the past and future, he does not only see it he created it, meaning he has full control over it. As to who is more powerful it's clearly God because it says that Satan has a third of the angels and God has the other two thirds, plus God is more powerful than Satan.
