Though this goes against the idea of entirely cutting out fast food/junk food, I've found this method to work in losing weight while still staying motivated: Instead of going a month or however long on a strict diet, take a one day break to pig out on whatever you want. I don't mean go overboard like it's Thanksgiving dinner, but on a certain day (usually one day a week, though as winter is coming closer you might want to make it a bi-monthly type thing) you can forget about your diet and treat yourself to something nice that you've given up all week. This really works, since you have that special day to look forward to, and so it's really just a series of small and easily manageable diets that you break for a day before starting back up again.

Having this idea planned ahead is much better than the typical "I'm going to eat healthy for two months," but then later finding yourself breaking the diet just once. That one time is enough to make you go "Oh [MOD EDIT] this," and go all out... leading to frustration in yourself and the decision to entirely quit the diet.

However you decide to do it, good luck!
Reason for edit: Dont swear. Even if you use hashes. -BrideOfChrist

Joshy is right.
Also, when I go out to eat, since that isn't very often, I usually get what I want and don't worry about my diet. I am not going to go to my favourite place and order a solitary salad. No way.
Just remember if you get off track of your diet and exercise, don't think you can't get back on track. I have the problem of when I mess up once, oh well..I've screwed up. Then it takes me like a week to get back to where I was.
On the days you don't feel like working out, try to do at least one exercise. One is better than none, and it may motivate you to do more. Sometimes we just need that little push.
If you want a good website to track food and exercise habits, I suggest sparkpeople. You can also find a ton of recipes that other members post that are good for you to eat.
I am on a mission to lose at least 20 more pounds come the end of this year. I've already lost around 30 since the end of June by healthy eating, cutting out pops, biking 5 miles a day, and I've taking up jogging.
Good luck biggrin.gif

Cutting out fast food is your biggest priority; it's a massive calorie sink and is very difficult to get past even with heavy exercise. When you reach your goal weight, it can be reincorporated as long as you're maintaining a good level of physical activity, so don't fret. Monitor your food intake at home; just take smaller portions and eat slower. There's a lot of simple things you can do which will help you a great deal without heavily impacting your lifestyle. Beyond that, stick with cardio for weight loss and I'd recommend throwing some weight training on top of that: extra calorie burn plus the unintended side effect of getting swole. Once you've cut back on your eating weight loss is almost inevitable, so the intensity of your exercise is directly related to how quickly you lose it.

With this method, I lost over 30 pounds in about three months. Not exceptional, but a good pace. Keep in mind I was working out at least 6 days a week.
