Oops... read that wrong. tongue.gif
All apologies.

But if it were up to me I`d close any weight loss threads.

That would be a real problem for the mods, the reason why we got an official CTF weight loss thread was because we had about 10 diferent weight loss thread oppened up by the members. The perpose of this thread is to bring it all to one place instead of them cluttering up the forums.

As for your concern. Most of the advice in this thread is stearing away from the "starve your self" approach. Rather the exercize and eat more raw, healthy foods is being strongly encoraged. As well as the boost your metabolism by eating more angle of looking at things.

I think your oppinion is being collored by your expirience with your sister's anorexia.

I've been hospitilized for anorexia several times...rehab once. I've been back into the starving lately. I'm about 97 pounds...17 years old. I just love the *control* it gives me, to willingly push food away.

But, I know it's VERY important for people to eat healthy, so if any one wants advice I wouldn't say starving! Not the way to go! I'm not advocating not eating, lol.

I like the thread, but I can see how it can be a turn on for someone who has an ED...

Wow. Yeah, I've heard of that "control" feeling that some people like....

Whoo hoo! I second that - starving isn't the way to go. Your body actually burns calories slower, because you're not eating, and it thinks you CAN'T eat. Therefore, it burns calories slower. Eat healthy everyone! smile.gif

I am not on a diet per say. I watch what I eat. I tend to stay away from fast food period. I stick alot to sandwhiches and salads and home cooked meals. I don't drink any soda and stick mostly to water all day. I run 2-5 miles a day and lift weights and work out. I make sure I get a good amount of protien and potasium. Doing this method I have been loosing weight for a while now. I am down 60lbs from it. I have slowed on weight loss but I am still loosing inches. This is because I am gaining muscles over fat. I am down from almost a waist of 40 down to 33 nearing 32.

Heck.... I'm 32 around the waste. ohmy.gif

Lol me to. What is your diet like, as in what do you normally eat. (chirious if you have the same seeming inability to gain weight that I do)

Me, I used to eat lots of whatever. Now I am more health conscious. (a petite body dose not necessarily mean healthy) and am now perusing more organically grown fruits and vegetables, game meat (witch I am eating less of), and a lot more salads. And yogurt. Yogurt is good in so many ways.

^yes!

people think eating 100 calories of cookies is equivalent to 100 of an apple. dieting is only half the battle towards a healthy lifestyle. people often forget that. you can workout as much as you want, but at the end of the day it comes down to what you eat, and how much.

Today I am officially starting a diet. I'm only going to eat when my stomach growls smile.gif. Every Friday I'm goin to give myself one high calorie treat. I just want to feel healthy. From taking one of my medicines I gained ten pounds making me weigh 160, the most I've ever weighed sad.gif. I am going to try to get to 130. Pray for my successful healthy journey. Thanks!

Good luck! I've been on mine for a month now in like 3 days.
I slacked off this week, so I am back on track now.

God grant me the serenity
To make good food choices;
Courage to turn away from baked goods;
And energy to exercise daily.
Living healthy one day at a time;
Enjoying my journey;
Accepting that the road to wellness can be hard;
Taking the tools of better eating out into the world
As I should, free from the bad habits of the past;
Trusting that making wise decisions today will pay off tomorrow;
If I surrender to my will
I will not beat myself up in this life and the next
But I will remember that this is a life long journey;
A journey that is well worth every pound lost.

Found this on a website... Thought it would help.

Started it up today...

I hope it all goes well, i went to the gym and worked my butt off, with speed cycling uphill for one mile, treadmill - 1/2 mile highest incline speed walk, 1/2 a mile run/jog on treadmill, weights... Feelin good right now biggrin.gif

Going to moderate what i am eating, and workout daily... i want to get in shape for bikini season, for my health and well being since my weight has been slipping due to school stress, and because i know that i am happier when i am fit.

[LOVE LAUREN]
