I drive a 2007 Ford Ranger regular cab with a 3.0 liter V6. I dont get that great of gas mileage but all my buddies say thats because I stomp the gas every time I take off. I dont think I do but they seem to think I do. My folks hooked me up with my ride and to be honest I dont think I would be really happy at all with a car, I just cant really use a car. I have a qeustion that noone seems to ever bring up on their own, what modifications have the people on here that have a car to drive to to their car, I have added a Pioneer 10 inch sub in a ported truck box and I have added two high powered tweeters. I love car audio and so that was what I hit first, amazingly I still have the stock radio but thats coming out this christmas if not before which I desperately hope it comes out before. I still have all the stock speakers but the main reason that I havent changed yet is because I was told by severla people that the stock speakers were actually worth leaving in for a while and amping. Other than that I have one buck head decal one me rear winshield and I'm about to put on another one, and I hope to put on some more wheels besides the stock ones, they really arent what I want on my truck. By the way, thats my ride in the pic.

I haven't really done much to my car, because it's pretty nice as is. And I learned my mistake by overly modding my last car. smile.gif

So far, to the Grand Am, I've added: red Pontiac windshield banner, Breaking Benjamin rear window decal, red GT badge overlays, red Pontiac badge inlay decals for the front and rear bumpers, Grand Am Owners Club decals on the rear side windows, tinted windows all around, and red flame floormats. laugh.gif I want a red/black steering wheel cover to go along with my red and black theme. smile.gif I'll have some current pics of the car up here sometime this weekend.

I've done a lot of maintanence related stuff though. The last owner took great care of this car, but I gave it some special attention anyway. Last summer it had a major tune-up (new plugs/wires, cleaned throttle-body), coolant flush, new fuel-filter, and a transmission fluid change - I probably shouldn't have because now it slips at the WOT 1-2 shift, but oh well. And as of tonight it'll have a new power window master switch. smile.gif

Mine has:

Rust on the back boot lock (extra power)
Pink tinsel around the aerial (smooths the air over the rear diffuser)
Rear diffuser (made of cardboard, if it rains I'm stuffed)

No but seriously, not that many mods. Then again it is 8am and I can't think...

I've also added a short ram-air intake. It makes a nice pseudo-turbo woosh when I accelerate.

my dad told me that if i get staight As from 6 grade to sophmore year and make first chair trumpet every year i could have anycar i wanted, but he failed to point out i would have to buy it myself only he would cosign for the loan. So i bought a left over 2005 GMC Seirra sle sport side short bed single cab 5.3 327 for 20 grand and then crammed another 8 grand into it, i'm so far in debt its not even funny.

So far i have duel flowmasters
k&N 57 series
17 inch weld racing wheels and 12 inch wide micky thomplon
flash paq tuner
ram air hood and intake system
tonnue cover
roll bar
custom chrome gril, finderwells, handles even tailgate handles
and i had it repainted fire engine red
also i put in a stage 2 shift kit

so far my 1/4 mile time record is 10.65

so if anyones has a v-2 vortech supercharger sittin around they need to get rid of just let me know, thats all i need now.

Was your Civic an Si? Was it modded?

Lumping "imports" and "American cars" into categories like that is really redundant. There's so many varities of each that you can't really verify a statement like that.

My GAGT can beat a stock and probably even a slightly modified Civic. wink.gif

Back in the day, when I was a rebel, I beat a 440hp skyline, in a 250hp Mazda GT-R. Its my friends car, (Mazda) and, well he doesnt know how to drive it, fast. So I jumped in and got used to it. I hadnt driven a turbo car for a while, sold my evo about 6 months ago. So this dude, in his skyline was all, "Bro, Ive been beating you all night, my car h as 440hp at the wheels. Give up...blah blah blah" Obviously not knowing it wasnt me who was driving..

So I smoked him smile.gif nice 7,000 RPM launch, nice gear changes...he was surpised haha

Well..looking back it was incredibly stupid. In fact, not only stupid but VERY dangerous. I was going double the speed limit before I had to slow down for a corner...Im surprised I am still here after all of the racing I have done. NOt good..

My current car...beautiful 1998 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 liter. Yes, it is beautiful. For driving to school next year I am going to be acuiring my dad's '06 Corolla. Kinda an old man car, but won't be when I'm done with it wink.gif Me and my bro are both going in on it to change it up a bit...ground effects, spoiler, shaved door handles, nice heavy sound system(prob pioneer), headers, intake, ect, ect ect... ha ha not going to look much like a corolla in the end. It may sound dumb to drop money into a Corolla like that, but hey, it'll be different then any other car on the road.

Dream car...hmm

I must say I really love the Cadillac CTS, now that is hawt.

Allotta people love mazda's, yet don't like Fords...kinda odd when Mazda is a division of Ford :-P. Personally the only Ford car I like is the Mustang, and even then only the 1960's, 70's, and late 90's to present. 80's and early to mid 90's were ugly and not too spectacular. Other then Mustangs, the only Ford car with a solid reputation is the Crown Vic. Only having 2 good cars is kind of a penalty against the company in my opinion :-P

Though I do admit...I like Ford trucks, but I would take a Toyota truck over it anyday. I'm a toyota/honda fan for the most part. Two of the very few sports cars I am truly impressed with is the Lotus Elise and the Lotus Exige. Now these are intense, right around 200 hp with crazy amounts of speed. Not to mention...they look amazing.

Well, you are. You have a very late model, unless you slam it (make it VERY low) with some nice wheels, and give it some decent speed, it will always be a nana car....tongue.gif

Im not one to talk however. I now have a 91 Civic with a 1.5 liter engine smile.gif Although I have asjustable suspension and ok wheels it doesnt go very fast. BUT I dont have to slow down as much as a big V8 would around corners tongue.gif

haha yeah, I will be lowering it, not by much though unfortunately, the roads around here are awful. Probably an inch or two in both the front and rear. I'm thinking about taking all the tags that would indicate it's a corolla as well, so unless some one really knows there cars, they see this baby with some ground effects, nice rims, and loud exhuast, they'll have no idea what it is. cool.gif And a new grill...the black plastic with the toyota symbol has to go.

Haha, yeah you arn't really one to talk there. The corolla has a 1.8 L engine... :-P You got me on the adjustable suspension though, that's pretty cool. No idea why you would put it in a '91 civic with no other mods...but hey, makes just as much sense as I do ha ha

Hey hey I didnt say no other mods smile.gif I have the intake modded (carbon fibre whale penix intake with a K&N pod filter) SOme decent 4-1 extractors, polyurethaine engine mounts. 2 x 1300W subs with a 1000W amp, 4 x 220W 6" speakers in the rear, 2 x 6.5" 420W sony fusion speakers up the front. Pinoeer 60wx4 headunit, Integra DC2 front seats (sit nice and low) momo stearing wheel...haha hea ps of little mods.

ANd for your info, I have beaten a 3.0 liter nissan Laurel, and a 2.5 liter skyline (non-turbo) down a track in my little beast smile.gif

OH! and a fairlazy Z (300zx) non-turbo. Must have been a newby driving because they arent that slow, well, Im sure they would be fast than a 1.5l vtec
