Ok I don't know if this is the right place to put this... But feel free to move it.
Just a compilation of a load of conversations I've had with friends about God. Kinda changed a bit and put into sort of free flowing poetic form....
let me know what you think!!!
--------------------

I say: Who is God to be mindful of man...?
You say: who is Man to be mindful of god...?

I will tell you:
God made Everything
The earth, the universe, heaven
everything.
Heaven is like an island
This island is the only place that will never be flooded
a tsunami is coming and will destroy the earth
There is only one way to get to heaven and to God
and that is through Jesus
Jesus is like a boat
This Boat is available to all who want to get to the island
Come, get on the boat!

You reply to me:
There are too few people getting on that boat
How is it fair that so few people know about it?
How can you be so happy and comfortable in your boat
when there are all these people who never knew about the boat?
I will swim if the tsunami comes
I will make myself as vulnerable as those who were never told.
I will not try to save myself or them.
If I close my eyes
The waves don't exist
If I put my hands over my ears and scream at you
then what you are saying cannot be true
There are so many people who are blind
I have two options
I can open my eyes so I am not blind
and help them to open theirs too
Or I can poke out my eyes with a stick
so I have a reason to be ignorant
and pretend I never saw the wave coming
I will choose the second option
Because I don't like boats
I get sea sick in them
I can swim easily, I'll get there myself!

I reply:
Ok, let's try this...
The island is like another planet
by swimming, you are trying to jump to another planet
You cannot get there yourself.
You can jump higher than him or her
but none of you can get to the moon by jumping
This time Jesus is a rocket ship
It can take you and everyone else to the other planet
before this one is destroyed
I am on the boat;
I have nothing to lose
and I have everything to gain
You are in the ocean, fast running out of energy to swim
soon the waves will come and kill you
Right now you have everything to lose
and nothing to gain.

You say:
I don't want you to tell me how to live
I'm jumping and swimming and I'm happy with that
Because you know what
That all sounds clever
But it's not true!
Leave me alone!
stop throwing life jackets to people
They don't know they are drowning
telling them they are going to die upsets them
stop trying to save the innocent and the guilty
if you have the answer,
if you have the truth that could save us all,
keep it to yourself
nobody likes life jackets
they make us look fat and ugly
and besides;
I don't have to listen to you
if I close my eyes you're not there!

I say:
Fine, have what you want
I can't make you take the life jacket
I can't make you climb into the boat
I'm telling you
and I'm giving you a choice
I know you don't like it
so have what you want
By telling people about the boat
and giving out life jackets
I'm trying to increase the number of people who know
God asked me and others like me to tell the world
you complain that there are so many people who do not know
yet you complain when I try to tell them
How does that make sense?
But as you wish
I've told you
Make your choice.

You say:
I told you so
Look at you on your boat
I won that argument,
you let me have what I asked for
I must be right
Have fun on your boat,
it really does suit you
It's just not for me.
The reason I didn't want to come with you
is that you see,
The color of the boat doesn't match the colour of my eyes
and the life jacket,
I hope you understand,
makes me look fat
So I don't mind drowning
The alternative doesn't suit me
It's just not my cup of tea
being alive and all.

I cry:
God's will be done
You cry:
My will be done

We both got what we asked for...

God answers us both in one breath:
Yes. Amen

That is a perfect description of the attitudes of so many people today. All we can do is show them the way. They have to make their own choices, and sadly, most make the wrong one--purely because of their own desires.
