Best Advice:
Just get over it. No, seriously. The sooner you deal with it and get it off your mind the better you'll be. Some people will tell you to sit back and think about all the good things that happened... you'll be the saddest person in the world if you do. Just let it go and think no more of it. People LOVE to dwell on the relationship, wondering where they went wrong and how something so wonderful could be over so soon. ^ Do not do that bold text. This road leads to depression. Your best bet is to pray about it and let go. Let God calm your feelings and your nerves and wake up in the morning completely refreshed. :/ You'll be glad you did. ~ Pie |

I honestly think this is easier said than done...
If you really love someone and choose not to think of them and just 'get over it' immediately it could lead to other destructive behaviour in an effort to forget. I'm not talking about self harm or anything, more stuff like drinking partying and just doing things like that. My personal opinion would be to seek refuge in God and in close and accountable friends. When you have just come out of a bad relationship you're going to feel lonely so the best place to go to is the people you know best. |

Pielette S. Bouvedaire. With a name like that, you better make better pastries than Pierre Hermé.

XD Win. ^ Yeah, "get over it" is a lot easier said than done. It's not always easy to get over something. For the most part though, I agree. Don't dwell on it. This post has been edited by Skadaddle09: Nov 13 2009, 12:58 PM |

Your best bet is to pray about it and let go. Let God calm your feelings and your nerves and wake up in the morning completely refreshed. :/ You'll be glad you did. Agreed. That said, it is a battle, and like all battles, the key to victory is constant prayer and reliance on God. Furthermore, don't wait for time to heal your wounds; time can do no such thing, and when looked at this way it is an idol. You have a Comforter to help, give him everything. |

Furthermore, don't wait for time to heal your wounds; time can do no such thing, and when looked at this way it is an idol. You have a Comforter to help, give him everything. ^This. Speaking from experience (not with dating, but with other close relationships that ended bitterly), time makes your forget, not forgive. And even if you feel you've healed, past hurt, anger, and bitterness will come up eventually if not properly dealt with. The Holy Spirit is described as our comforter in Scripture, and He is faithful to be just that when we need Him to be. It's a matter of taking it to Him in prayer, and sincerely surrendering our all to Him. |
