Does anyone else study drumming theory? I'm a rhythm guitarist and it really helps me, when I'm playing on stage.

I don't take drumming theory at the moment. Might in the future though. I play the set, so I'm constantly learning new rhythms. But straight forward theory, not yet.

For a guitarist or a pianist, I would recommend taking drumming theory... For a drummer it's a necessity. It's not about learning new beats it's being able to play them like a machine (on time, every time). |

Drumming theory is like figuring out new beats and like getting perfectly on time with the beat. If you want to learn an instrument then you "should" learn this.
