Many of you might know that I have epilepsy. I started having seizures in February of this year.

This month is Epilepsy Awareness Month. On average 1 in 10 people will have a seizure in their lifetime, and almost 500 die from SUDEP (sudden unexplained death due to epilepsy) each year. I have had two close friend die from this. And another from a simple seizure. My real goal is for people to know what to do should you ever see someone have a seizure. I mean 1 in 10 have a seizure. Thats a lot. So this month if you would. Maybe try doing something like making a purple ribbon to wear. The more aware people are the better.

Here are some first aid tips.

Thanks a bunch!

Thanks for the tips. My mom has ended up in the hospital 3 times because of seizures. I've never actually seen it, but my dad's always been there. I know not all seizures are that bad and stuff, but she would be unconscious afterwords, or awake but completely non-responsive, and it would take her a day or two of feeling tired and having a hard time remembering things to recover completely. It was really scary, but she hasn't had one in a while, thank God!

My little brother, mother and grandfather all have epilepsy. My brother has had many grand mal seizures. Its very scary.
The only time I have had seizures was during as withdrawal period from one of my meds.

Imma sew a perty purple ribbon... and put it somewhere of importance.

Hey guys! November 13th is the designated wear purple day of the month. So if you want to wear purple to show your support, that'd be awesome smile.gif I'm wearing my epilepsy awareness shirt that I'm going to wear in my walk at the end of this month.
