it's a little late. but here:
I have 0g plugs in both ears. my girlfriend and I thought it would be a fun hobby to take up together so we gauged our ears, haha. she has 1/2" square plugs with diamonds in them, they actually look good! from 0g it goes 0g, 00g, 7/16", 1/2", etc.. my left ear was already pierced for about a year when I started gauging it, my first gauge experience was a 12g. then I wanted my other ear gauged as well, but I didnt want to have to wait a year, so I bought a 10g needle online and pierced my right ear myself, it actually didnt hurt, just stuck the needle through followed by a 10g stainless steel taper. worked perfectly. and I actually didnt wait for it to heal either, I got impatient but didnt want them to be uneven, so I kept going up and up when I felt ready and it went fine. the higher the gauge, the bigger the gap inbetween each. you can go pretty big without them being flabby. my girlfriend had 1/2" gauges for a while when she was younger and then got rid of them and her lobes closed back to the normal piercing size just fine, just throwing that out there. 2g - 0g are usually really good for people who dont want them to be too stand-out-ish. gauges smell very bad if you dont wash them!!! they have a pretty unique smell, especially at first. sometimes they have puss or blood at first, that's somewhat normal, depnding on the color, hehe. if you think it's infected, just put some hydrogen poroxide in it and clean the gauges(clean them regularly anyway or they'll smell, blehh). no biggie. going up in size hurts really bad! it's kind of a fun hurt though, if that makes sense. there are some really pretty gauges out there if you really look into it. I might go to a 00g. not sure yet. if you dont already have piercings i would suggest buying gauged needles and doing it yourself. you can get them online for like $2 a pop. much cheaper than going to someone with a gun. just make sure they're even. |

I do know someone with the 'skateboard wheel' gauges, and its just weird. But I've seen some very cool gauges. A guy in my church has our church's logo on a pair. I've thought about piercing my ears and getting gauges, but I don't think it'd look very good on me. But if you wanna do gauges, Steph, absolutely go for it. I think its cool.
