How do you get rid of them? Do you have a special trick to getting rid of them fast. I personally drink from the wrong side of the glass. People look at me like I'm crazy when I do it or tell about it, but basically To drink from the wrong side of the glass, put water in a glass (not too full) and hold it under your chin so that you can put your lips on the opposite side of the glass rim from usual and slowly bend forward letting the water go into your mouth and sip several swallows, repeat until the hiccups are gone.

When I need to get rid of them and don't have water I hold my breath.

I drink a glass of water and they go away instantly...if I don't have water then I'll just keep holding my breath until they leave. laugh.gif Since I was little, I've always thought of hiccups as evil little beings climbing up my throat...and water washes them back down.

everytime I feel one coming on, I inhale and hole my breathe until the hiccup happens or subsides. This process is repeated until they are gone from my body

I drink from the wrong side of the glass. People look at me weirdly when I tell them about it, too! But it works every time.

Hold my breath or drink water, or both. Hiccups are caused by having to much oxygen in the lungs, so just minimize that amount tongue.gif

If you get the hiccups, here is the thing to do.
Get a glass of water.
put your hands above your head and hold them together while another person feeds you the water.
It works I swear.
My mom did it for me quite a few times.

I take small sips of water constantly until they're gone. It's the exact same thing that happens when you drink from the wrong side of the glass, only you don't have to be upside down tongue.gif

I saw on tv once (some doctor show) that there is a pressure point on your neck that if you press will stop hiccups. I tried it on my sister next time she had hiccups and they stopped! So now that is what I do when I get hiccups.

Water and hold my breath. Try this one: Hold your breath and swallow 3 times... that one works for me. But sometimes I do water and just simply hold my breath.

A spoonful of jelly works. I kid you not. (Tastes yummy too. tongue.gif)

Also, since hiccups are your muscles lacking air(or so I've heard) I take deep breaths until they go away.
