Yes, how dare they build similar weapons to a country they're at war with!

How dare they build weapons neccesary to the protection of their state!

Yeah, I've always thought it a bit unfair to say that one country can have nukes and the other can't.

Wait, what?

How can you use the fairness argument? Have Israeli leaders threaten to blast Iran off the face of the Map? NO!!! have Iranian Leaders threaten to blast Israel off of the map? YES!!! Iran's government is not mentally stable. Things/people that are not mentally stable should not be allowed to have powerful (or any for that matter) weapons.

So does Israel.

The thing is it's Israel that has more capability of wiping Iran off the map currently.

Good they need to.

Because every single person in Iran deserves to die, right?

Who brainwashed you? You're a kid living in america, you probably watch boy meets world, and there are nations that you want to see leveled. Sorry to say but that is not normal. It is not normal for a child with a good upbringing living in a developed country with relatively good standard of living to wish the destruction of nations. In fact, that is insane.

They're not at war.

And nobody should be allowed to construct nuclear weapons. Building nukes to compete with Israel will not make them safer, it will just ensure that more people die for nothing if a war breaks out.


Uhhh. Nukes are not necessary to protect the state....

I agree with this one, but I feel that the entire world may not. In America, as the only true official nuker, we see our nukes as necessary to the protection of our state, and many nuclear nations feel the same way about their nuclear program.

I'm an idealist though; I'm positive war should not be an inevitability ever.

America does not hold nukes with the intentions of using them anymore, though. We have them essentially as a deterrent. A country like Iran, which is not a major player in world affairs, would not want nukes for that purpose. Nor do they need them.

As long as Superpower posses nukes no one else needs to. Nukes will never be used by the Superpowers because of the apocalyptic event that would follow if one of them did.

They may want them as a detterent; good ol fashion cold war era paranoia. But we still have continuously updated and streamlined nuclear capability; we can shoot warheads from planes and from silos around the USA and the world, and we can hit any target in any hemisphere we want. For not wanting to use our nukes, we sure are prepared to use them. We are the most dangerous weapon the world knows; Iran has plenty to be paranoid about, and not from nukes but just our regular weaponry.

What does that have to do with Iran's nuclear capability?

Let's be realistic here. We're not going to use our nukes. We know what they are capable of, and we've actually been dismantling them since the end of the Cold War. We are prepared to use them because they aren't exactly very deterring if we're not, now are they?

There is absolutely NO reason Iran should be allowed to develop nuclear weapons, because there's a very good chance that they will use them. And if they didn't, why should we let them have them anyway?

As of yet Iran's Ayatollah has not provided a fatwa issuing the acceptance of a nuclear weapons program. Until then it is highly unlikely that, despite the presidents ravings, they will create any nukes seeing as it would be against Iranian law.


There absolutely is a reason Iran should be allowed to develop nukes, it's called the law. There is no legal reason they can't, and no legal reason another country should be able to stop them through force.

It no different then stopping North Korea from gaining Nukes. Their dictator is a crazy madman who can be trusted with that much power.

Its so depressing reading statements like this. Complete disregard for human life... I hope one day you won`t feel such a hatred.

Iran has over 74 million people. Not nearly everyone is a radical there. It would be terrible to blow up all its inhabitants.

Iran is unstable and should therefore not be allowed to construct nuclear weapons. No, Israel shouldn't have nukes either, but why does that imply that Iran should? It's like saying that because Freddy Kruger has his knives, we need to hook up Leatherface with a chainsaw.

I thought the whole "non nuclear-proliferation" idea was fairly popular across the board :x?

I do believe that Israel can be trusted with nuclear weapons a little more than Iran. Just based off of the leaders running the countries.
