"You are loved. You are forgiven. You are awaited."

This is the main message that each of us adult volunteers is challenged to share at our conference. We all need to hear that message of hope don't we?
I do.

Well I met with the event planner, Dana N, who is a friend of ours and got signed up to assist in a variety of ways. I will be assisting in the thematic park area in the main convention center/Bartle Hall in the art expression area. The theme Christ Reigns" will be brought to life in this exhibit hall area being transformed into a rainforest of sorts. Three large trees have been constructed for participants to climb up in even!

Ill be assisting the 2 artists in residence and the 1,000s of teens express themselves visually on large murals. More importantly, I will get the chance to meet 1-on-1 to share my unique brand of love and hope in Christ!

I also am assisting at masses and hopefully confession area with crowd control. Helping God bring healing is my passion.
I have a feeling my CTF will become quite limited soon.

Ah, to be a treasured and supported Catholic christian surrounded by: the Trinity, 27 Bishops from across the US, 500 priests, 151 seminarians, a variety of religious sisters, 20,000 Catholic highschoolers from 157 archdioceses and a 1,000 local volunteers not to mention my family!

Prayers for us all, would you? Ill be posting a novena will be saying starting Nov 10 for the event's success--which is most undoubtedly for Christ to voraciously move and change and heal and free His people.

Check out the live stream audio casts available:
http://www.mycatholicvoice.com/live

As for me? The event is sold out and the teens have first priority so Ill be watching in the main ballroom on the big screen most likely unless I can finesse a way in to the Sprint Expo Center:)

Oh,ya. The art team Im working with will be assisting teens make a 8'x10' image of Christ's face out of 5500 dominoes!

Tomorrow's the day!

I report for duty at 11am-ish til 7pm.
Friday and Saturday I work all day from am til 11pm. My son Drew and husband Tim are joining me while our daughter, Lauren Elaine Therese, will be an active HS participant staying at the Marriott for 3 days.

The weather report looks awesome as were moving from the past few days of cold rain to sunny 57 degrees thru the weekend.

Prayers for the Holy Spirit to rock and reign in Kansas City!

My, my--I feel 18 again!

Had a blast yesterday staffing the art zone area with free form easel drawings, domino plate creation to be assembled into the image of Christ's face and staffing the stage area at the Kansas City Power and Light District concert area. See the photos and article below. http://www.kansascity.com/105/story/1581997.html Im the Gail Pearson quoted smile.gif

God used me as a conduit as I met a reporter from the Kansas City Star paper. Also, I was issued a neon yellow security vest and I used this and her media pass to swim upstream with her through the crowd of 21,000 teens/chaperones to the front door of the Sprint Center for the opening ceremonies. That was a rush I'd never had before which resulted in my getting to stay in for the evening's ceremony! Catch the footage at the above listed NCYC site or other weekend presentations.

Yesterday also rocked as I saw about a hundred different Catholic religious orders and universities represented in the expo hall. Communing with those who have devoted their lives to Christ is humbling.

Each day is a new adventure, I assist in the art area again today from 12-4pm followed by a 5-11pm shift with my son Drew and husband doing Lord knows what as they keep it a surprise! It appears my husband and I will get to staff mass tomorrow with the 500 priests for the Eucharist. Dispensing the sweet body of Christ to thousands will be a powerful undertaking where Christ Reigns!

As for Lauren Elaine, well she's in her usual joyful form acting nuttier then ever meeting many Catholics from all over the USA. She'll be part of a Eucharistic Procession led in the streets of KC this am by a cardinal and 27 Bishops/Archbishops and many, many other good followers of Christ.

It's so enriching to be surrounded by the flesh of Christ through all these pilgrims and a tiny glimpse of the sweet joy and serenity which awaits us all as followers of The Way, The Truth and The Life.

I wish I could take many of you good CTFrs along with us to this experience.

Somehow Lauren's youth group was shown in the pix from Friday, Nov 20.

Start here: http://www.mycatholicvoice.com/ncyc
Then go to like the 6th shot in on Friday, 11-20. She's in the center behind the gal in the blue KS sweatshirt outside the Sprint Center. Id know those hands held in a heart anywhere!

Drat her though-she's ignoring her mom's plea's to meet up at the event so far. Too much fun Im thinkin'.

Today's staffing mass training begins at 4pm in Sprint Center with 500 priests from across the US. Ill be assisting them with Eucharistic distribution crowd control. Ill be secretly praying and making eye contact with as many young Catholics as I can.

Before that, a few hours at the Art Zone again. The dominoes are almost all assebled into CHrist's face. It's been fun to watch the team work involved as well as the youth doing easel drawings.

Young people are awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks cool! I think my friend Jarrett was alter serving at one of the masses, he mentioned it on facebook. Silly boy, rubbing elbows in youth ministry. (I'm kidding, he's an amazing man of christ and really going places) Looks like a neat thing though!
