Bored. So here goes my master recipe.
This goes epic with white wine, and also garlic bread. NOT BREADSTICKS. Pasta with tuna, bit of garlic, heaps of parmesan You need: 1 medium saucepan 1 colander/strainer 1 packet of standard pasta (ours are 500g) 3 tins of tuna IN OLIVE OIL (the quality of tuna in the US is foul, if you can buy some Safcol aussie stuff, it's very tasty) 1 tablespoon of minced garlic from a jar Bit of olive oil A big thing of grated parmesan cheese Bit of salt Optional: Small tub of thickened cream (this is hard to find in the US, ironically) Method: 1. Drain the oil from the tuna, and put it in the mixing/serving bowl 2. Add the garlic, mash it together, add dabs of olive oil here and there to keep it interesting and bound together, DONT SATURATE 3. Put the water on the boil. Actually do this first. Duh 4. Add salt to the water. Add it before it boils for some bubblin' fun. Also the olive oil adding to water to make it not stick: CRAP. Salt works. Oil doesn't. 5. Boil the water, cook the pasta per instructions. 6. Drain the pasta and whack it into the bowl, and stir like anything. 7. OPTIONAL: Add small dabs of cream to make it all creamy. Not too much though. (If you do this, then cover with some cling wrap and chuck it in the microwave for 30 seconds) 8. Dump some parmesan cheese on top. 9. Turn on Dr Phil. Serves 4. Or 2 if you're hungry. Or 3 if you have garlic bread and you're hungry. Why it's good: I think it's nutritious, and also very easy to make. If you have a cold, this will beat it. Add 3 tablespoons of garlic and heaps of chilli. Trust me, I'm a nurse... in training. |
