I took speech my first semester. The main techniques my teacher taught me(he happens to be a theater actor also) was if you want an attention getting, you should try to find a short story or maybe a shocking statistic. These always work fairly well.
For example if you are doing a speech on why pot should be legalized you could use this fact..... If you are using a power point presentation, maybe get a shocking picture(if the teacher approves) Good luck, once you get through the class it gets a lot easier! |
