Hopefully relationships will get better; I have heard terrible stories of federal harrassment that go on to this day. There are still tribes out there harassed by federal agents just for keeping their land.

Because, alcohol makes anyone crazy. I don't think the people of only one ethnic group go crazy when they drink. Secondly, your perpetuating a stereotype. Not all Native Americans are alcoholics. Finally, there are many Native people who do struggle with the alcoholism, and I felt that comment was insensitive to their problem.
