In my psychology class, all of our exams are done online. We have an exam weekly, we can take it whenever we want through the school's online system, which is the most unstable internet phenomenon in existence.

We get one attempt at the test. We lose a point for every minute we go over 30 minutes. That one attempt starts when you open the test. Which means, if the online test crashes, your internet goes out, or whatever, congratulations, you just failed the test, unless you were really close to finishing.

Last week, it crashed on me. I emailed the professor and he cleared my attempt and let me take it again, I got a 24/25 that time.

Just now, it crashed on me AGAIN, I was on question 7. I emailed the professor, but never got a reply. After a while of waiting I decided to check to see if he cleared my attempt and simply forgot to reply. It let me back on, on question 7, where I left off, except the timer READ over 40 minutes!

I finished question 7-25 in 7 minutes, thus it took me 47 minutes to "take the test" (It actually took me under 15 minutes if you only count the time I ACTUALLY SPENT taking the test, 1-7 probably took me about 5 minutes, and 7-25 took another 7 (I rushed))

Oh, and I got a 22 out of 25. Pretty good score considering I rushed through the last 18 problems. I lost 17 points for going over the 30 minute time limit, now I have a 5 out of 25.

I hate this so much.

I havent been asked to take any tests online, but that sounds VERY inconvenient, I know it is easier for them, but why not the old fashioned way? My college makes me do things online as well. I guess what bothers me the most about "online" is that now, if I want to buy something at a store they always tell me..."go online". sadwalk.gif

I know how is taking everything online. I have many classes like this and there are times when it internet decides to go down and then I can't finish it so I have to email and get them to let me take it again. They tell us not to use our laptops and go to the C-lab, but who really wants to go there take it and come back to the dorm.

We don't take tests online, but we use a system called Blackboard, where the teachers post homework assignments and printouts. They'll always tell us about homework too, but it is kind of annoying when they say, "This is your homework, I also posted it on Blackboard," and I go and it's not there. And it was such a pain in the butt to get signed into in the first place.

I'm a running start student this year, and I do all of my college stuff online through the ANGEL system. It's not very easy to navigate at first, but you get used to it. What I hate is when the instructor doesn't take the time to organize the items within the class, so i have to go through everything to figure out what I'm supposed to do each week.

That sucks O_o. There must be a lot of complaints about that...?

I'm going to have to do some sorts of tests online, so I hear, though they don't seem to be described as very important ones ("quizzes" ?). And I use something called blackboard, too.

That's retarded. They had an exam like that for us a while back, for the "ICT SATs". It crashed for about half the year, anothe quarter or so had bars over the screen when they loaded theprogram so they couldn't click crucial buttons, others had the questions simply not arrive in their "inbox"... awful. You would have thought they'd playtest it.

I have to take quizzes in my biology class via "i>clicker". I had to pay an extra 37 dollars for a remote with 6 buttons: A, B, C, D, E, On/off. Might I mention, for a class in which the text book and lab manual already cost me 250. OBVIOUSLY college students are loaded and willing to pay ridiculous amounts of money, on top of already ridiculous amounts of money, for a remote that could easily be substituted for a sheet of notebook paper. Not that that has anything to do with your situation, it's just technology...sigh.

Apparently my school used to use Blackboard. I don't know though, I am just going by what others have told me. Now we are using Moodle. It's the first year we're using it and I hate it! In my speech class we have quizzes online pretty much every week and most of the time our grades don't get recorded or something goes wrong. I can't stand it. We also use it in Wellness. I think it's dumb. that's my personal opinion, and the opinion of some of my profs. They might be going to back to paper, instead of doing everything online.
