Seekers Of Christ Forum Guidelines

The purpose of this forum:
Seekers of Christ has been set up for non-Christians who are genuinely seeking to learn more about Christianity to ask questions, and receive answers from Christians on CTF.

Seekers of Christ is best thought of as a Christian answer forum. Topic starters expect a Christian answer from individuals who hold Christian beliefs on CTF. No one's answer is to be debated. If you wish to do so, create a thread in the Christian debates section or PM the member who gave the answer.

All of CTF's originally laid-out rules hold true in this forum. However, there are some which will be slightly more pertinent:

1. All members are expected to “treat others as you want to be treated”. Name-calling, slander or gossip is not allowed in any way, form or language, to any members or other persons off-site. Similarly, posts bashing God, Christians, fellow members and/or other persons will be deleted, and a warning issued.

6. Debates concerning Christianity, or any aspect thereof, are to be between Christians only. There are to be no debates concerning whether Christianity is true, or the validity of the Christian faith.

7. There will be no discrimination of different forms or doctrines of Christianity. We may not agree on everything, but we should be building one another up rather than tearing each other down.

When asking questions:
Seekers Of Christ is not, and shall never be, a debate forum; if you want to post in order to ‘prove Christianity wrong’, then this forum, and indeed CTF, is not for you. If you want to learn about the Christian faith (not necessarily with a view to convert) then this is the place to ask your questions.

Any topics or posts deemed to have been made for the purpose of attacking Christianity and/or Christians, be they members of this forum or not, will be removed, and appropriate action taken by a moderator.

When answering questions:
Please keep in mind that while we may disagree between ourselves as Christians, we should all have a desire for non-Christians to learn accurately and effectively about our faith. In accordance with rule 7 (see above), there should be no debating the differing doctrines of Christianity.

Replies should be answers to the question or asking for clarification. Not to tear down another member's reply or expressing views adverse to a Christian response.

If you wish to post your opinion to a question, it is preferable to state which denomination you are speaking as a member of (if applicable), and respect the fact that other answerers’ beliefs may differ slightly from your own.

*

The staff of CTF realise that a forum such as this has a large potential to turn into something unpleasant, and to combat this, it will be heavily moderated. This means posts can be deleted if found not to agree with these guidelines. It is essential to the survival of this forum that the moderators do not hesitate to take action when it looks like it may be needed. We ask that you would try your utmost to remain civil and respectful, so there is nothing that a moderator may deem questionable in your posts.
