I don't think I would have reacted so harshly. Maybe grab the kid by the ear and drag him away from my daughter. But, I definitely wouldn't shoot the kid...even tho I would want to.

My daughter WOULDN'T be doing that. I'd teach her better than that. If it did happen though. I would sit them both through a graphic sideshow of what happens when you do these kinds of things. They did that in health class and it freaked me out completely.

I'm most shocked that there's a step-father in this world who cares enough about his wife's child to take such an action. Definitely the wrong way to handle his anger though. Better repent.

And what exactly does happen when you do this kind of thing? Venereal disease? Pregnancy? Yeah, I suppose that probably would happen if you are stupid about it and don't protect yourself.

Also, do what kind of thing, exactly? Have sex? Or do you mean having sex out of wedlock in your parents' house? Oddly enough, diseases aren't picky about that kind of thing. You can still just as easily catch AIDS from your wife after you're happily married and living in a house of your own.

well....I think the father was perfectly right for it. i guess perhaps he could have just beat up the kid, but you must also consider this kid may have been stronger than the father. Fathers who love and protect their daughters are a beautiful thing. Today being 16 you know nothing, absolutely nothing. Especially for the majority of 16 year olds. That 18 year old deserved some kind of punishment, these lust-rangers roam around picking up girls like pieces of candy. They do not value the girl whatsoever. The father knew exactly what kind of swine this guy was, and at least he cared enough to do something about it.

Venereal diseases are not only spread via sexual contact, you see; they can also be transmitted congenitally, or by blood transfusion, for example.

So, your wife is carrying gonorrhea. Women infected with gonorrhea often show no symptoms at all, so she doesn't know you have it. You marry your wife and spend your first night in bed together. Congratulations, you now have gonorrhea. Doesn't matter how abstinent you were beforehand, because bacteria don't really care about how long you managed to stay a virgin.

I was only saying that if people were to abstain from sex from until marriage as they are instructed to, it would be a much safer world.

Sure, but only because it'd mean people wouldn't be having sex as much, not because of any special property of marriage. It'd be even safer if people just didn't have sex at all.

Of course not. That'd just be impractical. To both suggestions.
