My first mid-term is tomorrow and I am not pleased about this... at all. dry.gif

First of all, I was sick on Monday, and didn't hear that we had a midterm Friday until Wednesday. I couldn't study Wednesday because I had homework to do and got home very late.

So now, it's Thursday night and I'm looking over my notes and trying to answer all the questions on the study guide. I'm on #16 of 29.

Does anyone have any tips on how to avoid this last-minute studying for my future mid-terms?

I think I'm going to go to bed very soon, and finish looking over the rest of the questions before class tomorrow. I get very tired and wouldn't want to doze off during the exam...

I take good notes during class, whenever the prof gives an outline of questions that we discuss in class or in small groups, I write down the question and the answer. Most of the questions we discuss are on this study guide, but I don't have time to write down the answers to all the things we discuss.. so there are some gaps in my notes.. which is inhelpful sad.gif

The prof doesn't like the book, so it's no use reading the book, really. I'm going to skim over the readings she's passed out and that we've gone over, tomorrow before the exam..

Ugh, so much to study... so little time sad.gif

Well luckily midterm dates for my univesrity are all set at the very begining of term, so I know exactly when they are. That usually enables me to plan in advance around all my activities and other classes so I have time set aside for studying. If that isn't the case with you (which it sounds like it isn't which really sucks sorry) then the second you find out about a midterm I would sit down and plan out your week before.

Personally I don't find studying usefull more than a week in advance because I don't retain information so I usually the week before will make a list of everything I have to go over. I am also realistic about what can get done when, that is a lot of peoples downfalls who do list making as they think they can do way more than they can. Then it is just a matter of sticking to your schedule and getting a good nights sleep before the midterm.

Best of luck today!
