I live in Australia and I'm an anti-militarist/pacifist.

The greatness of a country isn't how many nukes or tanks or bombers they have, it isn't in the size of their military or how well the government employees can murder other people, rather it's in how well the poorest person in their country is living.

In addition to overcrowded prisons, there is no way our courtrooms could handle this either.

If you knew that when you got caught with weed, you'd be sent to prison for 5 years, would you have it?
Maybe you would, maybe you wouldn't.

If you'r brother was in prison for 5 years for having weed, would you still have it?
Maybe you would, maybe not.

But if you went to prison for 5 years for it, you probably wouldn't mess with it anymore.

Yea, at first there would probably be a lot of problems. But after some time, it would eventually drill into peoples heads that, hey man, crime is getting us in a lot of trouble.
Im telling you, if we made punishment more severe, alot would change around here.
Lol, I think thats why the world is like it is. Punishment is not severe, people have way to much freedom to do what they want. Back in the day you got killed for disrespecting your parents. I don't think people disrespected their parents that much.

Lol, and that's why we don't like that idea. Cuz we're already adapted to this society, so we automatically don't like the idea...
Just think about it..

Take a joke, man!

But seriously, abolishing the military and "urging others to do the same!" is just about the most absurd idea I've heard in quite some time. Even if you miraculously did get everyone else to disarm as well, you'd still have rogue countries who would never give up their military, and you'd have paramilitary and terrorist organizations all across the globe who would be free to wreak havoc without facing any opposition.

And although a man may not necessarily be violent, he should at least be willing to fight if absolutely necessary. And yes, he should be hairy.

I'm having trouble connecting with your analogy since I don't support any drug laws.

But, again, your entire post is fail. Punishment is not a "the more, the better" thing. Laws don't exist to "punish" people, they exist to get the offenders out of society to protect law abiding citizens. The government is not a moral police.

Our laws fit the crime. Yours are cruel and unusual. You are arguing based on relativity - in the bible they killed people for disobeying their parents, and we don't. Thus, our laws aren't strict enough. That's not how it works. We run off of what works for a functional society. Society functions fine without sending people to jail for FIVE YEARS because they got in a scuffle.

I mean, using your "logic" (term is used loosley) shouldn't we "punish" every crime with the death penalty? According to you, that would result in WAY fewer crime. Sounds like a win-win to me!

You big government statists drive me up a wall. "People have way too much freedom to do what they want." Give me a break. Freedom always yields the most productive society.

I'm lightening the mood here. To many people taking things seriously.

1. Every Thursday is free Ice Cream day. Everyone gets all the free ice cream they want, and in any flavour.
2. Anyone who doesn't understand basic movie theatre etiquette will be drug out back and shot.
3. More cowbell
4. The national anthem is now "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen.
5. Always know where your towel is.

Oh, stray away from that one. Every one of his posts just seems to be him bragging about how "righteous" he is. I guess he's just too perfect for us mere mortals with flaws. Of course he supports the death penalty for any and all criminal offenses - it's not like he's capable of doing wrong! How could he possibly connect with us, humble, meager humans? Either that or he needs some excess attention from the internet. ROFL

I'd get married, force someone brilliant to teach me to play the violin, embezzle about two million dollars, and declare every December the 13th Bliz-Laur-Avii-Jasmine day.

Then I would step down and form a free republic.

There's the wool that's not letting you see where I'm coming from.
Think about everything I said, then think about this:
"If you aren't doing anything wrong, you don't have anything to worry about".

Besides, I have flaws. More than anyone on this site probably. But people whose only focus is to hurt other people, and people who are quick cause disorder and pain, need to be dealt with.

Isn't that a paraphrase of a quote from Sulla? You know, that Roman dictator who violently took over the Republic and killed those who sided with the Senate?

I would move my entire country to the moon where there are no other countries (no war)
Everyone would be issued a high powered laser pointer, and we would all shine them on the Earth to bug you guys
I will build a giant missile launcher to take out any asteroids coming towards us
I will have rockets going back down to Earth to get supplies
Everyone gets giant oxygen tanks that supply their houses with oxygen
Everyone gets a spacesuit
Every Friday is National Crater Surfing Day (a new sport I will soon invent)
Then I would step down and let someone else run the place.

Not really you have to remember the mind is the main sexual motivator, it wouldn't solve anything and woman could still get raped.

You're right the problem is in the mind but that would dramatically decrease the number of repeat offenders and it would possibly decrease the number of first time offenders.

No it wouldn't. The mond overrides all other aspects of the body and you could still sexually assault women without the use of your...unit. But I won't get into detail or debate as it is inappropriate on a christian forum.

But the mind is affected by hormones from the sexual organs. If the sexual organs have been removed, whatever assault they would want to impose on woman would stem from other motivations that's not sexual.

actually the hormone glands are in your skull, and pancreas, and other areas not too near the genitals. So technically you could get them removed. But then your life span would be about a day with none of the health-neccessary horomones.

So i suggest going for the death penalty =P
