I was home schooled my junior and senior year and it was seriously God's way of pulling me out of the world and brining my rebellious heart back to Him. I am so thankful that I was home schooled.

I have been homeschooled since 8th grade. My mom actually let me decide. "Its your choice." So I took it. And I have learned more in these three years than I have in my whole public schooling. Honestly. I am way happy that I have been able to do it. And its on the internet so my mom doesn't have to teach me. I have teachers, a principle, admins and everything. Its pretty sweet.

Yeah, after a few years of on and off homeschooling it became permanent and I've been homeschooled solidly since the fourth grade. I'm a little worried about social skills but I've got this amazing bond with my siblings and I know that's something that I would never had if I or any of my siblings were homeschooled. I think of my older sister as my best friend so I'm glad I got to experience that ^^ I'll just be a little socially crippled tongue.gif

I've been homeschooled my whole life. And i have moved a ton. so i don't really have any good good friends. because every time i make new friends we move again. My parents say we are not moving again. But we will see. I wanted to go to school this year. But they said no.

I was homeschooled all the way through 8th grade. I did enjoy sleeping in and being able to go places during the day when need be, but the school part wasn't so fun for me. I think, though, that it was because my mom was too busy and didn't keep me in line enough. I would goof off and not do my work and get behind. But I know plenty of families who do a great job of homeschooling.

On the other hand, there were definitely other benefits to being homeschooled. I think I did get a thourough education (which included a good deal of religion--something you won't get in a public school) and I feel like I was kept away from a lot of bad influences until I had a strong foundation and was more ready to confront them.

I'm glad that I did go to an actual high school, but I will definitely home school my kids. happy.gif

I should add that there are plenty of opportunities for homeschooled kids to socialize. There are tons of homeschool groups now, and there are also city-sponsored sports. In grade school, I was able to play sports with my church's school team.

I was homeschooled when I was in kindergarden..but then i went back to school. High school is great in a lot of aspects but also stinks in many others. My two little siblings are homeschooled and most times I wish I could be homeschooled also...Mainly because I don't have a lot of friends in the high school I go to right now. Don't have a lot of SOCIAL skills because we've moved so much. We move around a LOT (been to 10 schools, possible 11 next semester) and I think it would be better if all of the kids in our family were homeschooled. My mom would be able to teach us through high school too so that'd be great! PLUS we'd have more time to spend with God and that's better than anything.! biggrin.gif

I've been homschooled since the 3rd grade. Kindergarten through 2nd grade I went to a private school. I've thought about going to public, but I like hanging out with my three brothers and my mom. So I get all my friends from church and I have a lot of church friends. Some of them were either homeschooled before, are planning on homschooling right now, or they've been raised in a publice school thier whole life(k. to whatever grade their in right now.) I love being homeschooled though it's fun! biggrin.gif

Wow... really weird. Like, no one in England is home schooled. Well some people are obviously, but if you are it is seriously weird. I imagine it would be kind of nice to sleep in til at least 8.30, though. Especially as mornings do not mix well with me. And it would be much more free. But I don't know really. I would prefer school though. It is good.

Been in public school all my life and I must say I can't really imagine it being other way in my situation. Neither of my parents aren't really teacher like and since we have quite good school system here in Finland, would be kind of waste not to use the oppertunity to be taught by professionals. smile.gif All my friends come from school too so I bet I would lack in social skills if I wouldn't have been able to engage social contact with people like I have done in school.

Though, homeschooling might be better in some cases, specially if through support groups where you also get into social contact with kids your age. What fits for some doesn't fit for other. Afterall both are just way passing down knowledge. smile.gif

I am homeschooled. I have been all my life except for 7th grade when I went to private. I'm now in 9th. I've been a grade up my whole life also. So I should be in 8th. Last year when I had to go back to homeschooling I hated it. But then we joined a homeschool group and I like it alright now. I'm also on a homeschool basketball team. =)
