I'm home-schooled!! I absolutely love it! I went to a private school from 3rd to 6th grade. I made great friends, but the education I got was...blah. Being home-schooled has much more pros than cons for me. I stay social too, so I'm able to make friends. ^^ I'm very happy with it.

All of my siblings and I are homeschooled and trust me-- We aren't antisocial. I kind of am... but I'm an oddball (and so very un-blonde), so I guess that's my fault. unsure.gif I have never been to public school and I'm glad, no offense to those who are public-schooled, but there's so much junk in the world anymore it's like you have to cut yourself off in order to remain pure.

Anyway, I love being homeschooled! After having my parents as teachers all my life I really get along with adults.

I was homeschooled all of my pre-college education. To be honest, I do kind of wish I had gone to public school for a few semesters/years to see what it was like. Oh well. smile.gif

I was homeschooled for all my schooling before college, and honestly I don't feel like I missed out on anything, for one thing, it allowed me to go to college early, and get a jump on my degree, which was really nice. Anyone else that was homeschooled tired of hearing people ask that dreaded question, "What about sports??" ROFL geez if I had a dollar for every time I heard that...

I'm homeschooled! It was a blast for middle school but now that I'm a freshman, it kinda sucks.

Then again, I'm not in any homeschool groups this year so less socialization there.

I take classes at my community college so even though thats not socialization I like the class format despite the loads of homework (this reminds me....why am I here again?)

Education wise its excellent. I don't mean to brag in anyway but if I was in public school I would be doing Algebra 1 right now but instead I'm doing calculus. There's so many holes to fall into in public school. I wasn't in the gifted and talented program for math at all but I obviously have some talent in it, right??

The sad thing is that I'm probably not the only person who is actually smart but for some odd reason isn't in advanced classes in public school.

We keep on saying "Kids in Asia are smarter" blah blah blah. We're all the same...we're all humans!! So, all the stuff those students in Asia are doing can be done right here in America. Someone just has to take the step.

End of story.

I was homeschooled from the age of five, to the age of twelve. As the time, I thought it was okay. In the seventh grade, I began to get lonely. I started going to a Christian private school 8th grade year. I would NEVER go back to being homeschooled... I have so many more friends now, and I feel way more accepting than I ever did. The education is just as good, if not better. I have talented teachers who care about the students. I'm a freshman now, and loving school more and more every day. I actually look forward to school now. Every day of homeschooling, I woke up with a sense of dread. Yet now I look forward to each new day.

That's just my opinion. Different strokes for different folks!

I've been homeschooled my whole life and i love it! But most people think we can slack off all the time, but thats SO not true lol. My mom does a great job at it i have to get up at 7 start by 8, she helps me with the hard stuff and i do the rest on my own, i have papers and projects to do. And i have tests that i am responsible to study for, and if i dont haha too bad i fail tongue.gif Just like in public school. Im also involved in a lot of homeschool groups and church, so i have just the same social skills as anyone smile.gif im also on a homeschool basketball team and its been great! I guess it just depends on what your homeschool situation is like,if i didnt have all the activities i do, id hate it tongue.gif Although i have always wondered what it would be like to go to school, but then i hear stories from my friends who do and that changes my mind lol

The stereotypes are pretty harsh on homeschoolers; it's not fair to you guys. You don't get enough credit honestly.

Then again there are stereotypes placed on public school kids too, or Christian school kids. Just life. But I do think that homeschoolers can be really awesome.

Unfortunately, that's all too true from what I know and have heard. sad.gif

Homeschooling rocks, for me. I get to read, which is something my principal thought I shouldn't be doing in kindergarten. Apparently it would cause serious issues if I could read that young and the other kids couldn't. I didn't stick around long after that.

i am. and i have been my entire life. its funny, at my old church, we had like 2 families that weren't homeschooled. and they still went to christian private schools. but at this chuch, there are about 2 families that are homeschooled.

it can be fun, but it can be frustrating cause you don't have as many friends as public schoolers...well...sometimes. but in my city, we still have prom, and all the public schoolers that have gone have said that its a lot better than their proms..lol.

I homeschool. and it rocks.

It helps that my mother is kind of an actual teacher. She was working on becoming a teacher in college, but switched over to business. So she has experience.

It also helps that she is very empathetic, and since we know reach other so well (benefit of homeschooling, get to spend time with the 'rents), she usually knows what I need.

Plus, I help out around the house, which she needs, because she also teaches all of my younger siblings. Which need muuuuuuch more help than I do.

Nah, I've always gone to public school.

But next year (my senior year) I really want to homeschool online and have a job. But I'm terrified to ask my parents. If anyone has any advice/opinion on the situation, I'd appreciate it! smile.gif
