  1. The question itself is irrational (not that the question isn't legitimate). It assumes that I understand my state, that I will spend an eternity away from God, and still acknowledge Him as God and worship him accordingly with that knowledge. The obvious answer to the question is that man isn't knowingly unsaved or conscious of his non-salvation yet has the ability to worship God. In Acts 17 Paul paints the perfect picture of pagans worshiping a God whom they were ignorant of; that is what they called "the unknown God". They didn't know who this God was and had no knowledge of His saving grace let alone heaven or hell in the Biblical context to which Paul says "Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you".

So, short answer, I don't think it's possible.

  2. He may be one of the more sane of the bunch, but he's still got some whacky views... plus Bush taught me to never vote for a 6-day creationist.

I guess you'll have to list them. Whether that candidate is or is not a 6-day Creationist shouldn't be a primary factor in prohibiting you from voting for a candidate. I'm sure you were more or less joking. Ron Paul is quite honestly the only candidate with a strong consistent voting record. His views and policies are solid as well.

  3. Deeper are you saying regardless of whether it it manslaughter or murder, that they merit the death penalty?

Oh no, sorry I was saying that there is a penalty for both murder and manslaughter but one is taken more serious and deserves the death penalty where the other may only get jail time. If it's an accident I do not believe death should be the penalty.

  4. Andrew, before I answer that question, can I get your opinion on what makes a murderer forfeit their life vs someone who committed manslaughter who (I assume) wouldn't?

The justice system takes into account the actions, setting and scenario of the crime or incident to determine the penalty. A murder get's the death penalty because he willfully takes the life of another where a man who accidentally takes a life may get a lesser penalty. In either case, there is usually some form of repercussion and if it is death it is usually deserved.

  5. Why shouldn't other countries aid anyone in civil wars? You've been saying this for six months now, but throwing out words like "sovereign" and "their own business" honestly don't mean anything (especially considering the fact that the rebels begged for NATO's help. Rhetoric is not an argument. NATO exists for the purpose of maintaining security for member nations and their allies, and therefore the actions taken against Gadhaffi are perfectly acceptable based on NATO's overall mission.

The problem is not that countries should or should not "aid" or "help" a group of people in a civil war, the problem is that the US under UN direction without congressional approval with NATO lead a war on another nation without first leading an offensive against us. This is a major problem. You don't go into multiple wars policing the world especially when you do not go through the proper channels. We learned that Bush used 911 to take us into a decade long war under false pretenses which Obama is doing himself; leading us into a war with another nation under the guise of humanitarian aid when it's not humanitarian at all.

Secondly, look at it from this perspective. The US is in a civil war. Government versus radicals. The radicals ask Russia to help dismantle the US Government because of it's unconstitutional actions. Russia gets a group of world powers who see how they can take advantage of the local radicals to help combat a nation they've wanted to destroy so that they can gain from their economic wealth. Russia brings in China and Germany. They start bombing the United States. What would the US government say? Probably the same thing as Gadafi, get out of our country. They're line of reasoning would be "well it's humanitarian. Sure you didn't murder people in the streets, but the radicals are asking for our help."

And are you saying that Libya is a member nation or ally? The only authority that NATO claims to have as a rite of passage is United Nations Security Council Resolution 1973.

Can I justify war because it's humanitarian? No of course not. But the war had already begun. I certainly can justify intervening in a war that already exists for humanitarian purposes. I honestly have no clue how you, a self-proclaimed Christian, can possibly think it's right to sit back and relax as a madman massacres his people. It really baffles me to the highest degree that you'd prefer that everyone just minds their own business when helpless people are slaughtered.

I don't appreciate your insinuation but I'll address it as best I can. I do not believe that it is just for a nation to wage war on it's citizens murdering innocents. It needs to stop. The problem I have is that you assume that the death of Libyan civilians is the reason we're there. It's not. This war was planned years ago (see the link below) and In 2009 Gadafi suggested that he would nationalize his oil which he said to, get this, students at Georgetown University in Washington over videophone. I mean, Gadafi is a terrorist and of all places he's welcomed to speak in Washington. Weird. He said he wouldn't follow OPEC's rules which I believed caused quite a stir with the powers that be. If you look at where we've fought, it's been at every major oil port. So no I don't think it's right under any circumstances to murder innocent civilians, but this isn't our war and we certainly didn't go over there because of this.

  6. I think the difference between Darfur and Libya is that the Libyan rebel force asked for help. They want NATO to help them.

Darfur (Annan) has asked the US for help. Secondly I don't doubt that information can be misconstrued by the Libyan government, however the rebels themselves were very angry with NATO, specifically the US, continually bombing and killing innocent lives. In addition, this was never declared a war, but rather humanitarian aid. Humanitarian aid does not include the killings of civilians via bombing. If this were declared war, the bombings would still not be justified. Lastly, the people, specifically in this video, that have died have been those inside buildings, such as the university that was bombed by NATO. They were doing normal everyday things when NATO moved in and bombed them.

  7. SaintPeter, I'm awaiting the day you actually own up to reality and at least ACKNOWLEDGE that Gadhaffi is the bad guy, and he's done far worse than NATO. Accidentally killing civilians is not a war crime. Waging war on your own people is.

There is absolutely no excuse for NATO's involvement in the civil war of a sovereign nation let alone the US, specifically, for getting involved in a war without congressional approval. You cannot justify war just because you call it "humanitarian." No matter how right the president thinks he is, fabricating his claims, he cannot enter a war with another nation without congressional approval. Period.

That being said, this is not humanitarian. There are many many nations going through extreme civil wars and have been for decades. Look at Darfur. Why is NATO not in Darfur bombing the living daylights out of the government? The answer is that they have nothing we want and Libya does. This is not about humanitarian aid it's about oil and money.

  8. Perry has been hit with many scandals that are just now starting to be brought up because of his run.

If you kill people, you've demonstrated a disregard for life to begin with, and you deserve something equal and it's only fair that you should die as well because you're paying back the amount that you took.

It is a shame that this isn't always the case. Look at abortionists. They murder innocent lives every day.

  9. Didn't see this one coming.

RIVERSIDE (CBS) — Is the state of California about to go “South”?

Riverside County Supervisor Jeff Stone apparently thinks so, after proposing that the county lead a campaign for as many as 13 Southern California counties to secede from the state.

Stone said in a statement late Thursday that Riverside, Imperial, San Diego, Orange, San Bernardino, Kings, Kern, Fresno, Tulare, Inyo, Madera, Mariposa and Mono counties should form the new state of South California.

The creation of the new state would allow officials to focus on securing borders, balancing budgets, improving schools and creating a vibrant economy, he said.

“Our taxes are too high, our schools don’t educate our children well enough, unions and other special interests have more clout in the Legislature than the general public,” Stone said in his statement.

I completely agree with their reasons because, well, they're true. I wouldn't mind if they wanted us to secede.

  10. "Why isn't there a White History Month? There's a Black History Month!" "Every month is White History Month."

How is every month white history month? I do not believe, in the history of this country, we've ever officially or unofficially declared any month let alone any day white history month or white history day. Why wouldn't we do that? Because it's divisive and if any president attempts to do such a thing I hope it gets shot down. Keep in mind, a white president declared February black history month. We know that if a white president declares a month or day "white history ..." there would be uproar.

  11. No, it shouldn't. Not when she's someone that many people feel should be in charge of fixing those problems. Addressing those problems requires, at some level, considering who will be in charge of proposing and implementing solutions.

Sure, I agree with that. But consider the lengths many have gone to destroy her and her status. She's already been shown to be quite wrong in many areas of politics on many subjects. She isn't fit to solve anyone's problems and this has been shown.

Why do you presume to tell people whether they should laugh or riot? Of course it's important to work to make the world better--solving the sovereign debt crisis and rebuilding Japan and putting out fires are all ways of carrying out Christ's command to serve those in need.

But we are not called only to anger, or only to activism, but also to mirth and love. If some who are now in Christ think it pleases God for the moment for them to laugh, what is that to you? And if they are not Christians, all the more reason to focus on the eternal things of God and not those things of this world that are passing away--politics and wealth and rulers.

You missed the point of my post, Yves. Laughing at another's expense is up to that individual. Palin has been laughed at, mocked, ridiculed and verbally destroyed a countless number of times. There comes a time when enough is really enough. And Yves, it matters to me because she's another human being who's had her fair share of mudslinging.

  12. I mean yeah she's not that great of a speaker, has little-to-no foreign policy experience and would not be that good of a president but at what point do we say enough is enough? Here we are wasting out time with "news" stories like this while our economy flounders, fires burn more than the have in over 150 years, Japan is in a state of utter chaos and Obama enters us into yet another illegal war. Palin and her lack of literacy should be the least of our concerns.

As I posted earlier there was a big concern for the Los Alamos wildfire specifically because of the laboratory that might be affect by the fire. The lab contains radioactive and hazardous material. The lab was also the birth place of the first atomic bomb.

With that said, let's pray that nothing goes wrong.

Los Alamos County officials are reporting that the Las Conchas Wildfire is now threatening Los Alamos.

They are ordering a mandatory evacuation which will begin and proceed in this order:

    Group 1: Western, Quemazon, Ponderosa;

    Group 2: North Community, Barranca Mesa, North Mesa;

Group 3: East of Diamond and the remainder of the town site. White Rock is NOT being evacuated at this time. Residents in Los Alamos should NOT go to White Rock to stay in case it is later evacuated.

Residents are urged to prepare now to be ready to go when their Group is called using Reverse 911.

The best sources of information about Group releases for the evacuation will continue to be through news outlets.

The County is first evacuating those residents who are the closest to the immediate threat of fire.

Residents should wait for the automated Reverse 911 phone call.

Once called, proceed in an orderly fashion to police control points and follow any additional instructions to safely leave the County.

  14. I feel like it's rather obvious that Mormons are not Christian. I mean, they don't accept the Trinity. They don't accept Classical Christian ideas. You have to cut off the definition of Christian somewhere, and they've fallen into a trap that we were warned against in Galatians 1: 8 "But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!"

Mormons are great. They are always polite, and they do a lot of community service and long-term mission trips. However, without Christ, they're going to hell. Truth is hard to deal with sometimes.

Good statements all around. The answer to the original question is quite simple and is indeed black and white. That said, Mormonism was never at any point in its history a sect of Christianity. Since the beginning cultic rituals and Masonic beliefs had some of greatest influences on Mormonism. The greatest assault against God and His word comes with the belief that they can become a god and rule their own universe. Satan fell because of this very thing.

SANTA FE, N.M. — A wind-driven wildfire has forced the closure of the Los Alamos National Laboratory and the evacuations of about 100 people in northern New Mexico, officials said early Monday.

U.S. Forest Service officials said that the fire had burned at least six square miles and was threatening buildings, power lines and natural gas lines. They said it was about one mile southwest of the government laboratory.

Lab officials has closed the facility and say all radioactive and hazardous materials were being protected. The site was founded during the Second World War to develop the world's first nuclear weapons.

  16. If Obama is Muslim then he sucks at being one because he doesn't even admit it. Didn't he declare himself to be Christian?

Technically Muslims encourage lying for gain so if Obama is a Muslim and is hiding it for a reason then that could be considered just.
