Hurricane Ike expected to pump up gas prices

Here gas has jumped from $3.69 to $4.15-$4.25 as high as $4.49 in a small town of about 1,000 people just 4 miles from here. the good thing is that our govornor signed a state of emergency declaration that enables the state's autuorny generial to invistigate price gouging. Stations caught doing this STUPID crime will be fined $5,000 to $10,000 per customer they sold the gouging price too. For instance, a one of the two gas stations in that small 1,000 people town raised it to $4.49 and then dropped it to $4.25 after the news about the state of emergency came out. BTW, prices per barrel fell even more yesterday to $100.00 and even dropping back down to $99 for a period of time. Gas also has DROPPED here to $4.09. i feel for all of you all that have to deal with higher prices. But God will get us all through this Earthly crisis. Besides, we're not going to need gas in Heaven. lol! Testimony

hey man. I'm very thankful that you became saved. that's awesome news to hear. I agree with you that it doesn't necessarly take a bright light or a near death experience to be saved. I was in church just setting in a back pew when our church was having a revival and I knew I wasn't saved. I gave my life to God right then. I have had some struggles and just redicated my life yesterday to God (9/7/2008). I feel great and it feels great to be saved doesn't it? well, I just want to praise God that your saved and I think that it's awesome thing to hear. -bro. bigheart

    Does Jesus Hate GAY People?

I have to agree with some of the above posters that Jesus doesn't hate homosexuals because if he did, then he would hate the 6 billion of us that are on this Earth. Homosexuality is a sin just like any other sin. The Bible tells us so. For example, look at Letviticus 18:22 and 20:13. In it, it CLEARLY states: "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female ; it is an abomination....If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death." Now before anyone gets off on a big long speech about this scripture, let me explain. We are all sinners. We aren't worthy of anything. We ALL shall be put to death. But thanks to God for sending His son, we are able to live in Him. I'm not trying to sound like some bad person here, but we CANNOT AND MUST NOT hide what the Bible truely says. Jesus sure didn't hide to keep Himself from being cruicified, did He? He didn't. Then why should we hide something that God written in His Word because we don't think it's right or it's cruel and unusual? The Bible also talks about Homsexuality in the new testament as well in Romans 1:26-27. "Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relationships for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were imflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and recieved in themselves the due penalty for their perversion." Again, please let me explain what is said here. God DOES NOT approve of homosexual behavior. As noted in Letviticus, we can clearly see that. The scripture above also talks about them paying there penalty for what they done. Well, we ALL are going to have to pay the penalty for what we done, not just homosexuals. We are going to have to pay for what we did. Just read Revalation 20:11-15. It clearly spells it out that if our name is not in the Book of Life (saved by Christ) then we will go to Hell and then into the lake of fire (second death). I hope and pray right now that if there are any homosexual people reading this that you give yourself to Christ if you haven't already. If you have given yourself over, then let God help you get out of this temptation and sin. Satan will try to concore you again, but he has already been defeated once (thanks to Jesus dieing on the Cross). So, don't let him do that to you. Also, if you're a Christian in here or know people that are Christians that look down on these sinners (just like us), tell them to love the sinner NOT the sin. After all, God loved us so much that He gave His own Son for us (John 3:16). Don't let them look down upon them because they aren't any better than them, but also don't let them show these people that they approve of the homosexual behavior. I hope there was some kind of point made to this. BTW, dude great job on inviting him to church. Don't give up on him. Keep praying for him. After all, Jesus didn't give up on us. Bro. bigheart

    Leaving youth minister

Hey you all. I come to you all with grave news for my church and my fellow youth group memebers. Our youth minister that we got at the first of the year is leaving us. The reason being that he works for Wal-Mart in another town and lives in another town that is about a hour away from our church. He is a 3rd shift manager. Now, Wal-Mart instuted a new policy after he transfered to this store that said that he couldn't transfer again for a year. They are also goin' 2 be makin' him work 60 HOURS/week!!!! He has already been having health issues because of the stress at work and with the youth group because he feels like that he has caused more harm than help. please pray for our now former youth minister that he continues to follow God's will for his and his family's life. Us, as a youth group, are taking it pretty hard. It took us months to find this youth minister and we all know that this is God's will for this situation. The comforting thing here is that God already has the next leader ready to come and enter this family. I know that nothing will replace wat we had, but we have to move on. Please pray for the youth group as well because we are struggling with this as well. Please pray that God will give us strength to continue to move foward. Thanks, Bro. Bigheart *SPECIAL NOTE TO WAL-MART: Thank you for putting a big crack in the middle of God's plan for us. I think that you all should turn the focus off of the dollar signs and shift it to God so that this giant company can be ran better by God Himself.*

Thanks Saved for leaving this. I thank you for praying for our youth group. and just a note 2 everyone that reads this, there was also another issue that did not have to do with our church that contributed to theses events. Thanks again for all of your prayers. We're goin' to need them.

Did any guys deal with homosexuality?

I have to say that i have unfortnataly struggled with this. this all started WAY WAY back in the day care days (when i was 4 or 5 if i remember correctly NO JOKE). i was called "gay" and did not know what the word meant. I of course found out later in life what the word truely meant. I was continued to be picked on and called "gay" through out the years. In fact, that name stuck with me thanks to some school mates. In the 6th grade and 7th grade (2002-2003), i really began to question my self. *I had let Satan get me right where he wanted me* I, unfortnatly, continued to struggle with this for the next 7 years. Satan still tries to get me with this. However, i have been doing something that i hadn't been doin': developing my relationship with God. I hope and pray that if you all are dealing with this that you will talk to God about it (unlike me). If you are struggling with it right now, please pray and ask God to forgive you and let it go. Satan will still try to hit you hard with it using many of his numorous weapons. Please continue to focus on God and don't let it mess you up like it did with me. Satan still tries to get me down with it sometimes, but I will not be defeated by what this world has to offer. I have something a lot better than what this world has to offer me.

    Prayer for a Solider

Hello every1! I hope that every1 has had a awesome God filled summer so far. Anyway, the reason I'm here is for my best friend's behalf. Two of the three older brothers he has have gone to Iraq and have came back safely. PRAISE GOD!! However, one of them came back with a bad thing: Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. My friend just found out about the issue yesterday and he was asking me questions about the disorder. Can any1 here please give me some more information on this so that I can relay it back to him? Please pray for this solider that has served our country and has fought for the many freedoms that we enjoy still today. Thanks, Bro. Bigheart

    The Military

hey everyone. i'm sure that everyone here knows someone or is related to someone over seas right now in the military. My best friend just found out that one of his older brothers is going to have to go back to Iraq in January. He really loves his older brothers and looks up to them. I just ask that you please pray for him and his family. Also, can someone please give me some advice to give him to encourage him and help him out during this tough time? God bless, Bro. Bigheart

    Jonathan

I know that losing a loved one (or a really close friend) is very hard. We don't know what God's plan is and why he took him. Although this is a time of great sadness, you can rejoice because he is with God, who loved a lot. He is in a lot better place than we are right now. Please take comfort that you know that he is in Heaven and up their rejoicing right now. I hope that encouraged u some. I am very sorry to hear about this.

    Small Churches

our church has actually 500 + members in it, but were lucky if only 100 show up for the services. Alot of the people that are still "members" don't come to the church anymore and haven't moved their membership to the other church. Anyway, we are still a small church. I like our church's size: not to big, not to small. The youth group has been all sizes and we now have a youth minister for the very first time. So, we are trying to get activites lied up so that we can get other youth to come here as well.

    Friend Gone Wild...

I'm sorry to hear about your friend. I know that you feel like u can't even pray to God about it and I know that it is difficult to do so. Remember though, that God loves you and your friend. In order for things to get better, you just have to pray. I know. I kinda went through the same thing with a friend i had at my old school. Don't worry, things may not work out soon, but they will in God's perfect timing. I know it's really easy too, but don't give up on her. Like my best friend told me when I told him something that i thought would offend him and cause yet another broken friendship, he remained my best friend. I asked him why he didnt run off. He said," only a cowrd would do that. Besides, where would I go if I needed help with something?" Don't be the cowrd. Be the friend that approaches her out of Christ's love for her and help her through this time. I hope I made some kind of point and i'll end my endless rambling as well. lol! Remember, God says to come to Him with all of our worries and problems and He'll take care of them. Here's another thing b4 i close: if any opptunity presents itself to you to witness/talk to her, take it because I didn't do that with my friend. I tried witnessing to him about wat him and has g/f has done, but I think i missed a number of opptunites and I let myself get in the way of doing God's work. Please don't do that. It doesn't work. Let God speak through you with Christ's love. Now, i'll close. lol! God bless, Bro. Bigheart

    Mission Trip 2008

hey there every1! i just wanted to lift up a praise for our church's mission team. this year's trip was really awesome!!! there was a total of 41 people going and 4 or 5 different churches joined us in this effort this year. well, so far, i haven't heard about any fighting or anything like that because last year's trip was full of that. we let Satan work himself through the cracks and he caused the trip to be messed up. This year, that didn't happen and because of that 4 people are now saved!!! PRAISE GOD!!!! i do wish that i had went this year because it seems like i missed out on a lot. However, i know that i was left behind for a reason and there's always hope for next year if that is God's will for me. ttyl and God bless, bro. Bigheart

Asking Advice For My Best Friend

No, i don't think that he needs the second baptism and i personally don't condown it. However, i can not speak for his spiritual relationship with God. I have already given him my phone number in case he ever needs to call me for anything. I just don't want him to start this thing and then it ruins his life. I do thank you for the advice that you have given me and i will be sure to some how some way put it into action. Thank you and God bless! bro. bigheart
  17. Hey there every1! I am coming here because my best friend needs some help right now. We both go 2 church 2gether and in the same youth group. We were talking yesterday when me and some of my others friends were coming back from the drive-in. It was just me and him in the truck and we got to talking about 2nd baptism. Personally, I struggled to know for sure if I knew God or not. I got baptized in 2004 and I THOUGHT i was saved. Well, in October 2005, I knew that I had just done the motions for the baptism and not the "real" thing. So, in October 2005, I did the real thing and i've been sure that God is in my life since. Anyway, we got to talking about that. Here's the part where I need help from you guys: what do I need to tell my friend? What do I need to do? I really want to help him out cause he has helped me out alot too and we both seek God's advice for each other (i know that's why God brought us 2gether as friends). Has any1 here ever done a 2nd baptizm? What caused you to do it? Did u really know God after the real 1st one or not? There is also something that he did just back in February 2008 that I didn't know that he was doing. I am not going to say what it is because I made a promise to him not to tell (and saying wat it is on the Internet is not necessarly keeping a secret lol). However, it is something that can seriously affect him and his life if he is not careful. I thank you for clicking on this and taking time to read it. Please remember me and my pal in your prayers. If you can, please leave some advice. Thanks and God bless. bro. bigheart

study suggests sexual orientation may be set in the womb

man! look at how we 2day are trying to justify that everything is right. My opinion on this is that i believe that the person has a choice to whether be homesexual or bisexual or wat ever. That's just like us as human beings. we know that God created us and He would like for us to come back to Him and be saved by His name. However, He gives us that choice to follow Him or not. I am not here to say that I hate homosexuals or what ever. I'm here to say that yes! i'm a Christian and I love the sinner. Just because we love the sinner doesn't mean we have to love the sin that comes along with that person. After all, that's what Jesus done when He walked this Earth and we are told to live by His example right?

    Do You Sing In Church?

i sing in church all the time, in the congreation that is. my voice isn't necessarly the best, but in the Bible it says to make a joyful noise for the Lord. So, i guess i'm making a joyful noise for God (although those around me may not like it! lol! )

I am also very talkative now 2 every1 around me and i love 2 meet new people and be friends now. i'm just happy 4 your brother and that God has helped him. i hope that he continues to improve because i know how it feels to have this condition and live with it day after day.

    The Most Unworthy Follower

First off, I know that you regret your past. i do too. however, we can't let out past shape us into the person that we don't want to be or that God wants us to be. We have to let the furture with God shape us. Secondly, when u think about it, we are ALL unworthy of God's grace and forgivness. we are all sinners. however, God knew wat would happen to us if we didn't believe in Him: we would go 2 Hell. so, He sent His Jesus to die for us so that we CAN be connected to Him and be able to worship Him and praise Him not only here on earth but in Heaven as well. Third, it's hard to let go of wat others think of you. although, u can't let their thinking of you shape you. I had that problem for about 6 or 7 years. and now, i've turned it over to God and I know that i'm slowly but surely becoming the person that He wants me to be. I hope wat i said was some help. I'll be praying for you.
