    Salvation Deadline

Just a quick note, it appears that Matthew is trying to have it done in the same way in which Paul was taught by Gamaliel, in which Gamaliel would present one point, and expound on it, and Paul would then have to show why its wrong; then, the two would switch places. (I blanked on what this method of teaching is actually called)

What if you didn't wait till marriage?

By what you say here, you say the your flesh is what determines your actions. Romans 8:1-17(Take this in light of Romans 6:15-23) "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you." You are choosing to live in sin; where then, is obedience that leads to righteousness?

Excellent point, Rave. True repentance is one of the evidences of a Christian's life.

What if you didn't wait till marriage?

Man, I keep getting tired of this... Romans 6:15-23 "What then? Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness? But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed, and, having been set free frm sin, have become slaves of righteousness. I am speaking in human terms, because o your natural limitations. For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification. For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. But what fruit were you getting at that time from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Unconservative Christian, I know you will disagree with me; you have in the past, on the same issue. But these verses make it quite clear; it is sin, and it is not to be continued. One cannot serve two masters, and either will serve sin, or obedience(righteousness). I will not judge you, for it is not my place. I'm saddened that you do not see the Truth in this, but I am not one to change your mind; that is up to you. And miggers, we are designed to enjoy sex; INSIDE the bonds of marriage. Outside of marriage, it is sin. And if you want me to explain the above verses to a greater extent, I would be happy to; just know it may take me quite a while to respond, as I am packing to go to work for the summer.

    Is Glowstick a little person?

Glow is my sister, and no, she is not little, either age-wise or height. You want little, go find some midgets.

What if you didn't wait till marriage?

Agreed...that was a bad analogy. And OnlyLovingHim, your thought on it is actually one sided, because when you think about it, it denies the love of Christ, which surpasses all, EVEN sin such as sex before marriage. God can take that which has been defiled, and make it beautiful again; as humans, we can't do that.

    How Far Have You Gone?

Heh, similar to my though. Although, my thought was more along this line: @Lucky: You had sex with him because you say you loved him; yet where was your love for God, your desire to be pure? Where is the desire to pursue righteousness above all else?

What if you didn't wait till marriage?

Sex before marriage is a sin, as we are commanded not to commit adultery or fornication. Paul, in many of his letters, implored the people of God to "flee from sexual immorality." I myself have had sex before marriage, and I have chosen to no longer do so, and turn away from it. As to why its a sin...not to be rude, but that's almost funny. Its because it is something God despises that its a sin; where God is, there can be no sin. Now, as to why you have no feeling of guilt...that's for you to determine. None of us on here could ever give you a direct reason as to why you don't have the feeling. Only you can ever know that, just as only you can know where you are with Christ. And I actually wouldn't be surprised if some people posted that it wasn't a sin, but hey...I'm going with Scripture on this one, and what God despises.

    Lust problems...?

In response to Cheese's query as to an accountability partner, the following is a good example of what one is: An accountability partner is a friend, whether of the same age or slightly older/younger, who one places complete confidence and trust in, and turns to in times of struggle for prayer, and when in need of confessing. One does not simply just choose a close friend for this, however; it is best to spend time in prayer and meditation to first determine who God would have you speak to, and be able to confess to. In essence, he is much like a person of peace, that the 72 were sent out to find and stay at their house(except in this case, you don't always stay at their house ), but he is someone the Spirit guides you to, and you then begin to start the accountability process; it is often the case that one of the two is able to teach the other, or disciple him, and this continues to create an even stronger bond than there was before, as trust and friendship build even more because of the discipleship.

    Need some advice..

Haha! I actually agree with you here. Dancing does take skill, something that grinding does not. And I have to admit, I didn't think about this at first, but personal experience reminded me of how you could handle this. You might want to consider confessing to him how much it hurt, and explain yourself to him as best you can, and whether you trust him or not. If you state that you trust him, and forgive him, then he will be more open to accept your words, and more likely to stay, if his desire to not do such a thing again is true. Since he is repentant of his actions, I would definitely say examine your heart and see why it is you're so hurt, and spend some time praying and meditating. I hope the two of you can work this out. Restoration of Virginity?

Okay the question you asked, "Doesn't that essentially say that a females physical virginity is the most important aspect of her as a creature of God?" is an entirely different topic..lol. Remember, I want everyone to think of if God would restore it(not that He has to), and if He would, why would he? And the reason I'm asking this is many young women are devasted at the loss of their virginity; so would God heal their heart alone, or possibly their body as well, if they repent? (and I'm a guy, so...I don't have a hymen )

    Lust problems...?

Well, the "lust and masturbation is okay in small amounts" is just a load of bull-crap. Its largely a battle between Self and the Spirit. Our Self wants to be able to continue to do what pleases you, whatever, whenever, wherever. The Spirit guides us towards a life pleasing to God; which would be without masturbation; lust is quite a bit trickier of a topic, as usually when it is said by a young man, "I struggle with lust," he's actually hinting at, "I struggle with porn." Now, that is not always the case, but it does tend to happen quite often. If you want some major guidance into the Self vs. Spirit, I would recommend reading the book of Romans; if you cannot quite figure it out after that, then try to get a book titled, God's Gift to Women: Discovering the Lost Greatness of Masculinity. The author(Eric Ludy) covers many things about the struggle between Self and the Spirit, and does quite a good job. If you'd like, I can try to help you out, but I'd actually recommend you find an accountability partner that you can turn to whenever you're struggling, or have fallen and need to confess.

    Suit or Tux for Prom

Dude, I'd honestly recommend something other than prom(I know, I know everyone...I'm weird, get used to it ) Think about organizing something between your family and Sara's family, sort of a hang-out. It can often be just as fun, if not more fun than prom. But if you absolutely want to go to prom...tux, lol. (And knock of the speeding man...lol)
