  1. In the Bible it states that it wasn't 2 of every species but 2 of every kind. So that would be 2 creatures from the cat family, 2 creatures from the rodent family etc etc. Which makes it highly possible instead.
  2. I think its human/teenage nature to rebel so if the parents wrap their children up in cotton wool and hide all alcohol from them for as long as possible then the kids are only going to get curious and have a stronger temptation to drink. However, I've only noticed this happens in mostly non-Christian households. I have one friend who has been a Christian all his life and raised that way so drinking has just been a no-no all his life. So I guess its just a tough subject. It just comes down to the way you've been raised etc.
  3. During the great tribulation there will be a huge battle/war of good against evil (God and His family against opposers) so that pretty much answers your question there. Well to me it does anyway. When Jesus said turn your cheek He didn't say carry on turning your cheek every time you're struck. Jesus expects us to put up force to defend ourselves and/or others if absolutely neccasary.
  4. Sounds like the Holy Spirit making Himself known if I'm going to be honest. You should feel blessed about having such a gift from God. Just imagine that feeling but x10000000 for eternity and then you can zone out thinking about heaven!
  5. In all honesty, I think its very wrong for people to be having sex under the age of 18/19/20. It doesn't seem natural at all.
  6. The commandment is not to murder, which is intentional killing of some one for self-justified reasons. However, the commandment does not say you are not allowed to KILL. That is not to say that we can go around thinking its okay to kill and so the whole concept should be accepted but instead this means killing some one to save others is acceptable. For example, it would be acceptable for a mass murderer to be put to death by capital punishment. Or in your scenario, it would be acceptable to kill some one if that is the only means by which you can protect your whole family from death.
  7. God intentionally takes a step back sometimes to test you. “The Lord your God is testing you to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul” (Deuteronomy 13:3). God pulled away from people in the Bible too. I think He did so with Paul and David, I can't find the verses but there are parts in the Bible where they complain to God about why He is being silent and not responding. You're not always going to feel Him there and He's not always going to answer your prayers the way you want. But with continued prayer and perseverance you'll get there eventually. These are things I've learnt from experience by the way.
  8. I think if we all had 100% faith that our prayers would get answered then yes, anything could be possible. Mark 11:23 "I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.
  9. I have no idea what God is calling me to what so ever!
  10. YAY! A new believer! I'm happy you've seen the light, if you have any questions at all please PM me as I'm fairly new to the faith too (born again around 2 years ago).
  11. Haha I see the problem. I live in England where 70-80% of our year is spent under overcast and cold temperatures so its perfect for running. But to be honest, even if it was hot I would still run and just wear less. I advise getting up early in the morning when its relatively cool and going then?
  12. I have anxiety too. I'm also shocked by the amount of people on here who have this disorder. This must reflect among the globe's population surely. My prayers go out to everyone
  13. Yeah, I wouldn't advise using treadmills. As most of you said, they can get very boring and they seem more like a chore. Plus it feels easier and unnatural. I go to the gym 3 times a week and I've rarely ever use a treadmill, just run outside its so much more fun and you'll see the benefits much quicker.
  14. New International Version Luke 6:29 If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. Also, I really don't think God's 'okay' with war at all. Why on earth would he be? Instead, he just knows its bound to happen due to our sinful nature.
  15. I'm afraid its just one of those things which is going to take a while. You need to build your fitness up and the best way is to just make yourself a little schedule such as to go running every Wednesday and Saturday morning then to stick to it! Plan a route for yourself (preferably countryside) and plan where your starting and finish line is. Start to build up your mental strength and determination by pushing past your pain barrier and to not stop running unless you're seriously in pain and about to puke. I know it sounds a little military-like but honestly its the best way, it might feel horrible while you're running but afterwards you'll feel so good especially after really pushing yourself. The army have a little saying I believe and it goes a little like this - "pain is temporary, pride is forever". If you do something like this you'll get fit in no time.
