  1. Thanks so much, I really need it now.

  2. Hey.

I saw your prayer request in the 16+ male topics. I'm praying for you. :)

    Someone please pray for me

I wanted to put this in the prayer section, but due to the nature of the issue I thought it was more appropriate to put it here. Recently, I've fallen back into a masturbation problem that I had been without for several months. Whenever I do it, I feel totally worthless, and sometimes it's almost like I don't think I deserve to live. I need people to pray for me. I'm too embarrassed to pray for myself because each time after I do it I promise God it will be the last, and then when I do it again I think He's mad at me (even though I know it isn't true). I haven't felt peace for weeks, and I really would appreciate encouragement and prayers.

Should we kill the abortion doctors?

Is there seriously a question about whether or not as believers we ought to kill a group of people? In this case abortion doctors?
  5. I sent the request to you. :-)

  6. So basically you want to taste the Christian perspective to understand the reason Christians behave the way some of us do? Okay, I can understand that. But really there's a difference between understanding Christianity, even putting yourself in Christian shoes, and accepting Jesus. Which do you mean to do?
  7. So what makes you want to be a Christian in the first place?

    the trinity

I like to use the example of water and the example of space to explain the trinity. Water exists as liquid water, steam, and ice, yet it remains one element, just as God exists as the Father, Son, and Spirit yet He remains one God. Or, like space is manifested as length, width, and height yet is one space, so God is Father, Son, and Spirit yet remains one God.

    Sinners and the Church

As others have said, I find it difficult to look with judging eyes towards others in full knowledge of my own sin. Because of this, I would imagine that I would accept and love Casey Anthony as much as anyone else I know and love. However, I can't say that my church would do this. The church that I attend is very judgmental, at least the older generations of people come across that way.
  10. Here is a quote by the Jewish (not Christian) historian Flavius Josephus. I don't know if this would count as "secular" to you or not considering he is of a religious persuasion, but keep in mind that this is not a Christian writer: "Now there was about this time Jesus, a wise man, if it be lawful to call him a man; for he was a doer of wonderful works, a teacher of such men as receive the truth with pleasure. He drew over to him both many of the Jews and many of the Gentiles. He was the Christ. And when Pilate, at the suggestion of the principal men amongst us, had condemned him to the cross, those that loved him at the first did not forsake him; for he appeared to them alive again the third day; as the divine prophets had foretold these and ten thousand other wonderful things concerning him. And the tribe of Christians, so named from him, are not extinct at this day." Josephus was writing during the reign of Emperor Vespasian, about half a century after Jesus died. Other first century secular historians that speak of Jesus: Cornelius Tacitus and Gaius Suetonius Tranquillas.
  11. Sorry I didn't see this before I posted afterward. Have you looked into extra-Biblical first century sources regarding Jesus?

    salvation

Romans 8:38-39 - "For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." If death nor life nor angels nor demons can separate one from the love of Christ, then I don't suppose that deceit nor mistaken belief nor even sin could penetrate the salvation of someone who has accepted the grace of Jesus. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Titus 3:5 - "[H]e saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit" Truly, if one is regenerated by the Holy Spirit according to the mercy of God could this person become "un-regenerate" and once again be lost to sin? Such a thing seems unlikely to me. --------------------------------------------------------------------- 2 Corinthians 5:17 - "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" As it was with the regeneration of the Holy Spirit, so it is with the new creation of those in Christ that I fail to understand as something which can be lost.
  13. Quite. Invincible, if you would please answer some of these questions via post or private message to me or anyone else that would be great.

My beliefs, will I go to hell for them.

Romans 10:9 - "If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
