  1. I suffer from anxiety and sleep disorders. Also, I have fatigue, memory issues, and pelvic pain. I suffer from these problems for over two years and they made me feel frustrated, embarrassed and desperate. My anxiety made it difficult for me to attend social functions where I have to face a large number of people. Sleepless nights have drained my energy. I feel fatigued and irritable. The memory issues made me less productive at work. I tried Hormone Replacement Therapy. I ended up with additional problems from constantly changing my medications. I tried chiropractic treatments, but nothing worked. My brother asked me to try medical marijuana cannabis from Toronto. Is this treatment effective in treating my condition?
  2. I have a friend who has bipolar depression. She also thinks she's bisexual. I know for a fact that homosexuality of any kind is wrong, and so is killings yourself. I'm only 13 and I don't know what to say or do. She's shown me the places on her wrists where she's tried to kill herself. I'm afraid I'm going to lose her and this causes me to have anxiety. Please someone help me in this situation. I don't normally look for help but I need it. Please don't put that homosexuality is ok, because that's not true. Thanks for your help.
  3. I was twelve when I first realized I was attracted to girls. I didn't want to say or do anything about it--what was there to say? Who could I tell? I thought the feeling would go away eventually; that it was just a phase, like everyone would usually say. It isn't, though. I'm seventeen now and I'm sure about my feelings more than ever. I like girls, and I don't think I've ever liked anyone of my opposite gender. Yes, I've had a few boyfriends every now and then.. and a girlfriend, twice. I'm currently not in a relationship with anyone at the moment but looking back then, my feelings towards the two genders were definitely different and I can't pinpoint what exactly it was in the relationship that made it different, but it just was. I saw something in girls that I've never seen in boys. My feelings felt more concrete, more real. I like girls and I don't like boys, not at all. I feel so much happier, so much lighter, so much more of myself whenever I'm with girls. It's never felt right with a boy. But I don't know if it's a good thing or not. My fear has been eating me up inside and I don't know if it's right. I don't know if it's okay, being Catholic and also being homosexual. I don't know if I'd be accepted the way I want to be accepted, I don't know if I'd be looked at the same way if I ever told anyone. This is who I am, this is who I've always been, and I don't think this is a phase. I don't think it has something to do with "finding the right person". I know I haven't found my true partner yet but I know I won't find it in a man. I like girls, but will I be damned? Will God look down at me, call me a fool? Will He talk to me in a condescending tone for being both a firm believer of His Word and a lover of people of my own gender? Is it wrong?

    Feeling Alone at Church :(

Hello friends I'm new to this site and I joined hoping to meet new friends and hopefully grow in my faith. To start off, I am 16 years old and have started going to church nearly every Sunday for the past 9 months. I never went to church before that, not because I didn't want to but because I didn't have the chance. Both my mom and I are new to our church community, even though we've been going for 9 months it doesn't seem that long. Our church is HUGE. About 10,000 people attend our church. It's not one of those small chapels, it is very large. My mom and I do not attend the same service. Our church is divided into; English Service (adults), Youth Service (13-18 year olds), Children, Nursery (Babies/Toddlers). So obviously, my mom is attending the adults and I'm attending youth. Being new to a church community is like being the new kid at school. I have never been a new kid at school however. The first time I switched schools was when I transitioned to high school, where I still got to see my elementary friends do that doesn't really count. I feel like I am experiencing what it's like to be a new kid for the first time. Not to mention, I suffer from social anxiety disorder so it is extremely hard for me to get out there and meet someone new. When I first came to my church, one of the pastors led me to 4 people the exact same age as me to make me feel welcome and told them to sit with me in service and get to know me and all that kind of stuff. The problem is, they go to the same school together. They've known each other for YEARS and I barely know them. They talk about stuff that I don't even know about and don't share interests with me. Whenever we're together they all talk about stuff and I'm just sitting there awkwardly like the "fifth wheel". Sometimes, I don't even sit with them in service. I only do when I see them. And even when I do see them, it's more like, "Hi!", sits in service and listens to pastors talk, "Bye!", then one week later and the same thing happens. There has been times where I sat completely alone by myself at service. And for someone who has social anxiety like myself it is excruciatingly embarrassing. I hate being SEEN alone. I don't hate being alone. I hate it when people SEE me alone. I think that fear comes from the fact that I don't want people to judge me I don't want people to think I have no friends and think I'm a loner. Every week, I get major panic attacks about having to sit alone at church and feel humiliated. I know to most of you, it seems like I'm worrying for nothing but for me my anxiety is so intense that I lose control of my fear and I start crying. I also know a lot of you might tell me I should just meet new people but I feel like the people are the same at school where everyone is divided into their own group or "clique" and they exclude everyone else. It is super awkward for me to randomly go up to that person over there at the wall and just say "hi". There is no way I can do something like that and that is also considered to be very creepy. Sorry if I bored you over this long essay. I want to be able to attend church so I can learn more about God but I also can't because I have so much anxiety and feelings of loneliness and just worshipping all alone. I feel very alone. I have no friends at church. I need help. Thank you to everyone who wants to help me! Also please feel free to send me a message I would love to meet new people considering the fact that have no friends at church.
  5. 2 Corinthians 10:5 NIV 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. Our ability to "take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ" determines our quality of life and effectiveness as Christians. Taking every thought captive means: Knowing the Scriptures - Ask God to share with you a study plan (John 14:26; James 1:5). He will! Be careful about looking to others and copying their plan. When it comes to spiritual development, God doesn't cut and paste (2 Corinthians 3:18). He sees you as a special unique individual and meets you right where you are (1 Corinthians 9:19-23). Don't let anyone guilt you into three-hours-a-day or make you think the plan God does give you is somehow not "good enough." Follow God. Know the root of your pain - Remember, there's nothing wrong with being hurt or angry (Ephesians 4:26). We only sin when we allow bitterness, unforgiveness, retaliation, etc. to take over. How we react or what we say when angry or hurt can tell us what scriptures we should believe in, memorize, and recite (this is our spiritual warfare!). There are six basic human needs: nurture, acceptance, security, competence, independence, and impact. When we're angry or hurt, we need to ask God to show us in which of these areas (there could be more than one) we've been wounded, and apply Scripture there. For instance, if someone did something that triggered you to think, "I'm stupid," that could deal with acceptance, security, competence, and impact. A great scripture that could target one or more of these areas is, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13)." I battled feeling inadequate for much of my life. Believing in, memorizing, and reciting this scripture helped heal my heart! Get support - These forums are a great tool. Sometimes we need help (probably most times) to heal from things that happen to us. Hearing the experiences of others can help us feel understood, have our feelings affirmed, and give us a road map for how to walk through the storm (Revelation 12:11). God doesn't promise we won't go through nasty things in our lives, just that if we hold on to Him, we'll make it through (Matthew 7:24-27; John 16:33)! Follow your plan - Faith without works is dead (James 2:14-26). If you want to get free and stay free from damaging thoughts, then you must continually feed upon the Word of God and apply it (Philippians 4:6-8; 2 Timothy 2:15). There is no other way. There are other factors, but this will definitely get you started! Feel free to post questions and I'll do my best to address them. I may recommend a resource you can use or link you to someone smarter or more experienced than me Either way, I'll be here for you to the best of my ability! My best, Marius
  6. My parents are going through a divorce, and it's REALLY getting to be too much. This whole thing has been dragged out since February, and at first I was doing good, but now I'm having EXTREME anxiety. I've been put on medication and everything. It's getting to the point where I'm having anxieties about things I know aren't true and won't happen. Satan is attacking the crap out of me and I really need prayer! Please just pray that I would have strength and that my mind would just chill Thanks!

    Worrying :(

Hi! I'm a first year Chemical Engineering student and in my school, we're currently having our Midterm exams ... I'm a good student and I get nice grades (no boasting intended) but there are certain subjects(math, in particular) that I, (and all my other classmates too) find hard. My prelim grade on a certain subject I found really hard was a miracle from the Lord. I passed the subject even though I really thought I was going to fail. But now, I'm kinda worried because we just took an exam on that subject recently and I found it really hard. Here's the thing ... I have faith in The Lord. I know He will make everything alright and most of all, I know that He's going to help me pass the subject again ... In fact, I actually have no doubt at all that I'm going to pass the subject in the Finals because I know He will push through. But I just can't help feeling anxious ... no matter how many times I tell myself not to worry, to give everything up to the Lord because He is bigger than any of my exams, bigger than anything in the world, I still feel worried and heavy. I think this is because of guilt. See ... I don't really have the best study habits in the world. I feel really guilty because I have awful study habits but God still blesses me with nice grades on most of my subjects and I'm worried that he'll stop giving me good grades because I rely too much on Him. In between studying, I constantly check Twitter and Facebook and Instagram and all that and I have this nasty habit of cramming! T__T I only study the night before the test because I also have a lot to do the days before the exam and honestly, this usually works for me. I just can't help feeling guilty because I don't think I did everything that I could although to be honest, the many study breaks for social media helped a lot in keeping me awake. But I just feel like it was wrong/I didn't do my best(?) What should I do to get rid of this awful, heavy feeling? T___T
  8. Going about the day I have no trouble with talking to the various people I see on a daily basis. I'm there and I see how they act in situations and I can learn about what kind of person they are based on visual and verbal cues i receive from them. However when you have an online friend who isn't comfortable with webcams and doesn't always talk on voice you miss those cues and when a word is typed it's hard to judge the emotion that may be behind it. My relationship with one of those friends has been a struggle cause if there is something wrong going on I miss it and I make stupid judgements on what could be going which when you do that there mostly wrong. It's been hard cause I want to be there for him cause I really care and that's prolly another problem. He says I care way too much and I don't know how that works honestly. It's hard for me to back away without totally ripping myself apart from the person and that just backfires. I'm not sure how to manage this honestly. I know I should give him some space but I just miss a time where I had quite a few close friends to talk to but now due to certain life situation there all busy. I'm not sure how to cope with this honestly. It's been going on for a while and I'm wondering if I need anxiety medication or something...
