  1. Faithful Kevin

    Catholicism

Hi guys, I've decided to move the debate over to this thread to avoid any more conflict with the mods. I am debating the fact that some catholics need to bow down towards images that represent a divinity aimed towards God so they can have a better communication with Him VS Only needing to rely on the Holy Spirit to help you communicate with God. I will literally continue my debate here. This answers to Zabby's post. I would consider the fact that my brother or sister has a problem because he or she shouldn't be attached to any object in order to communicate with God. You got it! Good. No one is claiming it. I was challenging you to answer those questions because if you really think about it, we don't need anything to better our relationship with God except His Holy Spirit. A physical reminder is great, I write down stuff on paper or a reminder on my computer so I can remind myself to pray or read the bible. But actually bowing in front of it so that I can have a better communion with God is a bit off. If there is no reason to bow down to these things, why do them in the first place?
