I didn't see any threads like this here, so I thought I'd start one. If you are thinking of getting a book or reading a book, but don't know how it's going to be, you can just use this thread to ask about it, and if anybody on this forum has read it they can tell you what they liked, and/or what they didn't like, about the book in question, and also if it had any questionable content some people might be worried about. If nobody answers a post, that probably means that nobody here has read the book in question. But if you have read the book, please feel free to talk about it. I have a book on which I would like to know your opinions before reading it, called Troubling A Star, by Madeleine L'Engle. I have read her book A Wrinkle In Time, and did not end up liking it very much, but this one seems like it might be more my style. Has anybody here read it? What did they like/dislike about it?
I'm putting this on both forums and Facebook as an experiment. If you have questions about God, Christianity, or Christians, message me them or post them here and I'll answer them in a mini-doc video. yours, James
I figure I should start a topic on this, since I have so many good ones. xD I call them "Blonde moments"... Anyway... Let's start! I wonder why toilet paper is in a round shape, and not square...? *-* What's the difference between a Palm tree and a Palmetto tree...? *-* (This was a few months ago. Mom... Or dad... Told me there was a difference... I was baffled, because I was expecting them to be the same thing...) Do spiders pee? Do bugs poop? Do bugs sleep? Do spiders sleep? What causes the sun to shine so brightly? Why is dirt brown? Why is sand sometimes white, other times not? What causes people to fall in love? What is love? Why do people get angry so easily? What causes tears to form? You can say I have the questions of a 3 year-old. I really don't care. I didn't post this to get flack for my age. I posted this so people could share their silly questions. No matter how silly.
I know there's human rights and animal rights but what by law defines a human? Does the law say they must be biologically human or is that up to opinion or what? If an alien came to earth could the by law be human if they client resembled or were of equal intelagance?? And what about Gods law? God said all races of men are equal but doesn't really define a "race". So if aliens were sentient and only humans are able to know God does that make the aliens atomaticaly human??? Is sentience possible without the ability to know God? If the earth is now in sin if aliens don't sin would we be kept away from the aliens so we wouldn't affect them or are they considered part of thie earth by God and already defiled by our or their own sin? If they were winless would they be unaffected by our sin?? When Christ died would that reconcile the aliens sin if they do sin? Could aliens be hyper intelligent but not sentient? Does that make them like animals or some other type of entity?? The bible talks about angles and demons and the devil and everything of this earth but God still made the rest of the universe. So what else is there?? Shouldn't there be other spiritual and physical entities and even other worlds?? Or does God consider the whole universe part of the earth?? Since we are Gods chosen of His creation doesnt that make earth the center of the universe and everything else just part of or an addition to it????? Ok this was just a random rant about aliens though there's some seriase questions there. I have just been wondering about aliens lately. I think it's a cool topic so please have fun with it.
