  1. Hello, I am a failed man. I can't break my porn addiction. I've tried everything... I downloaded apps, read my Bible, prayed, policed myself, asked my parents, and asked my pastor. It's all failed. I can't do it anymore... Is their any last desperate attempts that I can take or am I destined to be addicted to Porn all my life? Anonymous poster hash: cf3dc...eb7
  2. Hey there! Hope you are all doing well For those who do not know me, I am 16 years old and am a new believer in Christ! There is still a lot for me to learn and I'm definitely hoping to grow in my faith and become closer to God. So I have heard that there are many things that hinders our prayers from God that keeps God from listening to our prayers. And one of the main reasons for that is, unconfessed sin. And so, I definitely do have a lot of questions about that. 1. How can we know 100% FOR SURE that God is listening to our prayers? That our prayers will definitely reach heaven and that God will answer them? 2. Yes, we can ask God for forgiveness in our sins. But what if we have sins that we have not confessed to God because they were done a long time ago that we completely forgot about them? 3. Can you ask God to simply “forgive all your sins” or do you need to state specifically what it is? 4. When we accept Jesus as our Savior, all our sins are supposedly forgiven. That means past, present, and future sins. So do we still need to confess our sins all the time even though we are already forgiven because we accepted Christ? 5. And lastly, this one is a bit complicated. I knew that things such as homosexuality, lust, and psychics are sinful. But look at this: http://list25.com/25-normal-things-the-bible-forbids-but-we-still-do/1/I had no clue that eating lobster, snails, cheeseburgers, or pork (this one actually made sense though) were sinful? Or wearing ripped jeans or polyester is also sinful? So does that mean I need to just stop eating/wearing those things and confess all those things to God because I have done all things too many times? But I love eating lobster and I have lots of cute clothes in my wardrobe that are polyester material? So I guess God wants me to throw out my clothes made out of polyester? And if I keep wearing those clothes, apparently it is sinful and that my prayers will be hindered because I wear polyester? Sorry it is a lot, just that when I pray, I don't want to have any doubts that God isn't listening to me. Thanks so much!
  3. So I find this easy, yet hard, to believe, being that the world is so corrupt now. But a few months ago, New York legally recognized THIRTY-ONE GENDERS. WHAT?! The most I could thing of is male, female, male who wants to be female, and vise versa (the last two I personally don't consider genders, but it's the only other thing that comes to mind for the Liberal-type genders). Looking further into it however, they have what I consider sexualities tied into it, going as far into bestiality and "asexual". Some are, I assume, the same thing repeated in a different way, like there was Male to Female, then following was MTF, then the same for female to Male. So honestly, I know this is a sin and there is no possible way of changing my mind. I just wanna hear what you guys think about it, and also get the word out to those who are unaware of this new change.
  4. How do you get over that overwhelming feeling of wanting to be with someone. Obviously God will give you someone when it is time, but until it's time how do you focus more on God and his blessings and less on the fact that everyone around you has a significant other.
  5. I was reading through the book of 1John and when I came to chapter 5, I was confused at the verse 16 and 17. I don't get the 'sin unto death' and 'sin not unto death'. I want to understand this, do we have mortal or immortal sin?
  6. This is to all members who are struggling with masturbation and porn problems. I leave you the Word of God, which is complete, which stands alone in Its Truth, which is enough to give wisdom for the salvation of the Soul, which is the light of our path. I've been freed from both masturbation and porn addiction over 2 years ago. God is Almighty. God bless you. But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. Gal 5:16 But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death. James 1:14-15 Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul. 1 Peter 2:11 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. 1 Cor 6:19-20 But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints. Eph 5:3 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires. Rom 13:14 Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God. 2 Cor 7:1 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. Mat. 5:28
  7. I just had to put the title in caps to catch the eyes of many because we are being deceived by some people who call themselves christians here on CTF teaching that masturbation is not a sin. I don't want to start hearing about "well, what if my doctor asks me for my sperm and I need to ejaculate, is it a sin then?" That is a totally different case and I'm here to make things clear. My intentions are not to be hard on anyone but I come with the love of Christ to warn everyone that reads this. All glory and honor to God and his Son Jesus Christ forever and ever, amen. Brothers, I've been on CTF for more than a year already and I have read so many topics regarding to masturbation. I know there are so many young christian men out there that are suffering from their masturbation addiction and would like to stop. I want to write this as clear as possible and I am writing to you with all truth and knowledge regarding this topic. I want to point out to watch out for members of this forum who teach that the act of masturbating is not a sin. Do not be deceived by this false teaching. God's word clearly and constantly warns us to clean our clothes, to wash them so that they are not filthy because we cannot present ourselves filthy before God, we cannot enter His Kingdom while being filthy. The act of masturbating is a filthy pleasure. It's self seeking and it's done because you want to feel the pleasure. God warns us in his word to stay away from the desires of our flesh and to deny ourselves constantly. It is very clear and I say again that we all know that masturbating is done because a person feels the need, the desire to FEEL pleasure. If you study the Word of God, you will find out that when God talks about sexual activities that are approved by Him, He's talking about MARRIAGE. God intended sex to be after marriage. He blesses those who decide to preserve their bodies in honor of God's will until they are married to THEN have sex. The act of masturbation is a sexual activity with yourself! This falls under the category of FILTH which is a deed of the FLESH. God warns us in His word that a good tree cannot bring bad fruits nor a bad tree can bring forward good fruits. Only a good tree can bring good fruits and a bad one can bring bad fruits. Any tree that brings forward bad fruits are cut and thrown into the fire that never stops burning. Brothers please understand this. This is serious and it just urges me time and time again to warn you constantly about this sin. Don't be fooled by people who tell you that masturbation is NOT a sin. Why do you feel so guilty when you masturbate? Because you know it's wrong and the Holy Spirit is guiding you telling you to STOP! Stop it once and for all brothers. Please! You never know when your time will come to be judged after you die and you do not want to get caught in the sin of FILTHINESS. God bless you all and may the peace of God and His Holy Spirit be with you and guiding you. Glory and Honor to the Father God. Amen.
  8. a particular passage I was reading through just now, made me curious, and put forth a question I do not know the answer to, so I was wondering if anyone here knew? I had to read the whole passage for the context to make sense, and I advise you to do the same. but if you don't have time, just read the bold text. Well that's true, I believe anyone can vouch for that, when you commit a sin, you feel totally disconnected from God, and from righteousness. If even for just a split second you feel as though they don't even exist. Now if you're sick, and actually like that feeling, it's pretty easy to find an act of sin to commit, in the scriptures. (I'm not going to give you an example.. just in case. ) But what I can't seem to find is acts of righteousness defined in the scriptures? It says: "Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey" Yet it seems as if, there are no clear acts of righteousness: How can I obey something/ someone that doesn't command me? Any help is welcomed!! though I may warn you, my attention to obey scripture is diligent. but to listen to random opinions, doesn't happen often for me.
  9. My dad was kept out of the church (the building and the community) for several years because of the quote "Hypocrites" in the church. Now I don't disagree that there are hypocrites in the church, nor do I disagree that they were the reason for his not going to church. However I believe that he was thinking about it wrong. Even the newcomers in the church, one of the first things you'll here about is the liers and the hypocrites in the church and to not be one. after all Jesus taught specifically of the subject of hypocrites in referring to the Pharisees. (Matt 6) but I would suggest that he couldn't go to church because he couldn't be one: and you technically have to become a hypocrite when you first get saved. I know that sounds really ridiculous, but consider this for a second. When you get saved through Christ's death He says that you are: In your sin before Christ you are: sick, disgusting, dirty, dead, and lustful. (Scarlet) but through Christ you are made clean (White as snow) Instantly; if you died the second after you accepted Christ into your heart you would go to heaven, and not be held accountable for your sins. as the man did at Christ's execution. (Luke 23:42-43) But suppose you didn't die... What if a drunker went to a bar every weekend for a year. and then he got saved, and went to the same bar, and the bartender who knew him asked if he wanted his usual. and the man said: "No thanks I don't drink" Wouldn't he be a hypocrite in the bartenders eyes? and yet the man committed no sin, spoke no lie, and had a clean conscience. As Jesus said (Matt 13:57) So I say: You have to be a hypocrite (In man's eyes) to go to church, or to get saved. Does anyone disagree? If you do please site scriptural evidence for your disagreement. P.S. Take close note that I am not defending hypocrites, the Pharisees were at fault. and the hypocrites I'm talking about were hypocrites as seen in man's eyes not God's eyes.
  10. Young men, As of read a few threads on this post and have become saddened and angered by some of what I've read not only because of the brokenness but because of the lewdness I've read on this forum. This message is to those who are broken, who are lost in sin and find no way of escape. This is for those who know they are leading a life destitute of God and have no way of escape. I've found in my personal journey on the narrow road with the Lord that it is an impossible task to mortify my sinful nature (Colossians 3:5) and put to death that which is unseemly, that is, the old man (Colossians 3:9-11). In all my efforts I failed. Accountability partners were a temporary remedy to long-term anguish, filters on my computer after time only increased my desire to find filth and counseling didn't aid much except further denial. Nothing worked. But despite giving into dangerous lusts and fornication of the mind, God in His mercy revealed to me through His scripture that Christ is the only solution by which we can become free of sin. It finally hit me, 'Apart from Me [Christ], you can do nothing.' (John 15:5) It hit my like nothing has in time past; finally the answer I was looking for! All of those remedies I tried to do in my humanity were not done through Christ, the Fountain, the living water from whom all blessings flow, from whom we receive salvation and in who's hand is healing. If I can do nothing apart from Christ, then everything I did was in vain. But, alas, Christ in His mercy had shown me my error and revealed to me, 'son you've pursued freedom from earthly things, when by Christ and Christ alone your freedom will come.' So, brothers, hear what I am saying and look to the Fount, look to Christ, believe on Him and in Him and that by Him your sin and it's drowning lusts can and will be defeated for Christ aims to do it, He wills to do it in those who are His sons. Because it has been a benefit to me I must share this with you. Read The Mortification of Sin by John Owen for it does truly help and will lead you to the only remedy for our murderous sins. Here is a prayer taken from this book that has been of great help, keeping in mind my fallenness and sin to which Christ is the aid: In Christ, Skylar
