Adult Content Blockers?

Recommended Posts

Check out K9 Web Protection...it's what I use and is excellent. Plus, it's free!

Just be sure to have someone else set the password, or set it to random letters so you won't be able to override the filter in a moment of temptation.[/b]

I agree--K9 Web Protection is excellent.

If you use Firefox, there's also an add-on named Procon which will warn you about adult content on pages before you view them. Unfortunately, it's overridable, but at least it's something else.

Does the K9 one block sites that shouldn't be, because I don't want to be blocked from legit sites, and I'm going to check out that Procon, because of false links...

The best adult content blocker is your relationship with Christ and your mind determining to make the right decisions. No software can ever keep you away from porn if it's something you want to look at.

thanks guys!

and so true Chad. :)

I have it downloaded and installed, you can change the settings to always block certain sites and always allow certain sites, no matter the content. helps with things like CSE here.

K9 has a whitelist and a blacklist, plus a term-block list. You can choose the sites (and site categories) to allow or block. You should allow someone you trust to create the password that you don't know. That way you can't deactivate K9, and even if it were to be deleted, it would still function. K9 can't be deleted until the Administrator does so. K9 also keeps a complete list of every website you visit.

Procon is merely a warning system, not a blocking system, because there is no password, and the user installs it themselves. It also has a whitelist, a blacklist, and a term-block list.

X3Watch is accountability software--excellent stuff.

Truth, but in the moment of weakness, I am weak.
