- I don't know what to think about the whole porn thing. I feel like if I were in a relationship I wouldn't do it, but I wouldn't want to do anything more than makingout in said relationship either. So I guess if we both agreed that it was alright I would, but for now since I'm sinlge I am just not sure. When I'm watching it most of the times it feel sgood, but i feel guilty after words. GRRR I am just so confused on whether porn/masturbation is wrong. Everyone has got an opinion, but that doesn't help...I honestly wish I knew what God thought...

I have to add that it is natural for sexual thoughts and tendencies to increase just before your menstrual cycle....hormones and all that. Yay fun. >.> Also, I think it is much easier not to think of such things if you do not engage in sexual-type relationships. The closer you get to "home run" the more your imagination is going to run on you, which is another reason I think it's so important to stay pure until marriage. Sexual thoughts can be so imprisoning and exhausting....

My opinion on porn has actually changed since I posted in this thread last ... I think it's completely fine. It's completely, totally different to cheating. It doesn't affect your relationship if you're close and you don't mind. Obviously, if you did mind about your significant other watching porn, then it would affect your relationship - but that means it's circular logic to say that porn is bad because it affects your relationship: seeing as it only affects your relationship because you already believe that porn is bad. Just relax about it. :)

Actually, it can affect your relationship, even when both people are fine with it. There's more to it all than the two people agreeing that it's okay for each of them to watch porn as it pleases them. Porn has many different effects on a persons mind and actions. It can turn a gentleman into a dog in a matter of minutes.

'A gentleman into a dog.' I see. Because, naturally, sexual desire is evil and disgusting and totally at odds with being, as you say, a 'gentleman' ...

Alternatively, people could take responsibility for their own thoughts and actions, rather than allow them to be 'controlled' by various media? They could, perhaps, learn the difference between fantasy and reality, between what you think about in you own head, and what you do in the real world? They could understand that, while porn scenarios might be enjoyable to watch and think about, they are unlikely to happen in real life (which is why there is porn in the first place)? Or that, while it is OK to think about unnamed fantasy women as objects of sexual desire within the mind, this in no way has to affect their relationships with real women in the real world (which, again, is why there is porn in the first place)?

I suppose those are the 'effects' to which you were referring?

I feel so odd, because I hardly ever think about actual sex. I've never struggled with that type of thing at all, so I guess I feel a little abnormal when reading all of this about other girls my age dealing with it..... :/

I would like to explain some of my answers. For the first one, I put "other" because I do think about it quite often, and it does bother me. I was sexually abused growing up and not a day goes by that I don't think about what happened. It has caused lustful thoughts, which may sound weird to many and I can't explain it. I have been reading the book "Lies Young Women Believe", however, and that is helping me because I go to a Bible study on Wed. nights that is all girls and we're all reading it together. When I do think about sex, I usually try to push it out of my mind. If I don't push it out of my mind, I just end up feeling guilty and depressed about what happened when I was younger.

I do have some guy friends who are very attractive. If I am hanging out with certain friends, or even watching certain movies, I find it hard to not think about guys in a sexual way. Again, when that happens I have been working I pushing the thoughts out of my head. It's a lot easier said than done, however.

In today's society it is very easy to think about sex. Look on almost any magazine cover and you'll see something about sex, which can cause us to think about sex. I hate it, though. I honestly hate the fact that in today's world, sex is looked at as "cool" and should be done to have "fun".

When you look at porn, you're committing a sin. It's called lust. Lust = adultry of the heart. So, even if you didn't mean to, you are committing adultery (even if you aren't dating someone, it's still adultery). Also, porn hints at sex. The Bible tells us to stay away from anything that hints at sex. Looking/watching porn, can hurt just the same as cheating. I've heard many people say that time and time and time again.

Those are my thoughts, though.

awesome answers. I kinda went through the same thing with the abuse. and the thoughts. but God is healing me, and he can heal u too, if u let Him. again, great answers!

Do You *Always* Think About Sex?

3. Yes, but not too much.
I feel the need to clarifiy this. When I think about sex, it's more objective, like the definition. When it passes through my mind,it's like a Barbie and Ken doll. There's no action, it's no one I know. It's almost like the definition is on a flash card and that flat, 2-D boring image rolls through my mind.

Do You *Always Think About Guys In A Sexual Manner?

5. No, I have no problems with this.
Unless "That guy is hot, I want to cuddle his face off and have him give me a back massage" is explicitly sexual, then no. If I say a guy is "yummy" or "I like that chocolate" i'm merely going off of how he looks and I have no desire to see him bare below the waist. Male paraphernalia is not a turn on here.

Is Thinking About Sex Subconscious?

4. Yes, it is. I am aware I think of it quite a bit, but it's nothing that bothers me.
But like I said before, someone says something about sex and it's more words rolling through my mind than anything else, definition-y words. Or it's curious, like "Hmm... what's this like...? I bet cheeseburgers are better..."

Is It Better To Watch Porn Than Go and Cheat On Your Boyfriend/Fiance/Husband?

It's better to keep your legs closed you idiot. Porn will excite you to the point that the real world won't satisfy yoou and cheating could ruin your relationship. Go make waffles or something and  take your mid off being tempted.
