Masturbation is not a sin, but putting off other things to take care of your self in such a way is not good. Don't be consumed by it, but at the same time don't feel like you are a horrible person for doing it.

Masturbation might not be, but if you have lustful thoughts while doing it, it can become a problem.

Praying for you! Strongs

Masturbation is a carnal desire. A self pleasure! It's done because you feel like you are ADDICTED to it!

How is it NOT a sin? Please don't start saying that you can masturbate without having lustful thoughts. I mean come on, what are you a robot?

You masturbate because IT FEELS GOOD.

You feel PLEASURE when you do that to yourself.

God doesn't accept the fact that you are seeking pleasures of your FLESH!

When God speaks about a sexual interaction being acceptable to Him, HE's talking about MARRIAGE.

When a married man and woman under God have sex, it's honorable to God because they waited to get married to have sex. They preserved their bodies for the honor of God because they decided to OBEY God.

Masturbating is giving yourself pleasure!

Come on! When are you going to get this?

Read the bible! Study the entire New Testament!

Masturbating IS FILTHY AND EVEN THE WORLD KNOWS IT!

God calls these sexual acts as FILTH!!! FILTH!!!

You cannot enter the Kingdom of God if you are filthy! You need to wash your clothes! They need to be white!

Repent please Repent and stop saying that Masturbating is not a sin! It's filthy!

So many christians FEEL GUILTY ABOUT MASTURBATING BY THE HOLY SPIRIT'S WORK AND YET THERE ARE PEOPLE OUT THERE TEACHING THAT MASTURBATING IS NOT A SIN!!!

so we are going to be legalists? Let me guess, you don't EVER sin, right?

Can I see some Biblical Evidence that calls Masturbation (or self pleasure) filth please?

Can I see some Biblical Evidence that calls Masturbation (or self pleasure) filth please?

First, It's just so shocking to see that you are asking for biblical evidence right now when there is so much to talk about.

Do you understand that homosexuality is not approved by God? Did you know this is a sin that an ENTIRE NATION can be destroyed upon?

Yes, indeed. This happened in Sodom and Gomorra. Why do you call yourself and open christian and a homosexual when that is totally anti-christ?

Harsh, I know, but I just need to point this out like it is. If you are truly a homosexual, please repent from this and Christ will cleanse you with His blood.

Second, like I mentioned, if you study the bible you will find out that the book of Galatians teaches about the acts of the Spirit and the deeds of the flesh. Masturbating falls under the category of Filthiness which is an act of the flesh. An act of the flesh is against the Spirit. It's known as a BAD FRUIT. All trees that do not give good fruits will be cut and thrown into the fire that burns forever.

Third, this isn't about never sining, it's about crucifying the flesh. It's about refusing to give in to your filthy pleasures. If it were about never sinning, I doubt we would get saved. But we are saved by grace. We must then live carefully, crucifying our flesh every day and asking God to help us sin less each day.

My stance on homosexuality is completely off topic of this discussion. Stick to the topic, if you would like to discuss it, you can PM me.

So then alldeeds of the flesh are "BAD FRUIT", this would include dressing nice to impress a significant other, proper hygiene, and getting corrective lenses for poor vision. If a guy chooses to masturbate, the act of masturbation is not sin. Masturbation with lust is, because lust is sinful.

It's about a relationship with God, if one is in a healthy relationship with the Father, and masturbates, who are you to say that he should stop?

You misinterpret what the deeds of the flesh are. PLEASE read the book of Galatians, chapter 5. They explain everything.

Here are some verses:

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. Gal 5:16

But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death. James 1:14-15

Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul. 1 Peter 2:11

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. 1 Cor 6:19-20

But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints. Eph 5:3

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires. Rom 13:14

Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God. 2 Cor 7:1

Here is one for porn also... But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Matt 5:28

It's about a relationship with God, if one is in a healthy relationship with the Father, and masturbates, who are you to say that he should stop?

It just doesn't make sense, how can a person have a healthy relationship with God when that person chooses to act in a sinful way?

guys he was asking for prayer to overcome a problem there is no need to turn it into a debate.

Anways back on topic I will be praying for you.

I understand what you're saying, and I agree, but IDK how you can sit here and let CTF turn into some liberal forum that -really- has no firm views. Honestly, since there are a lot of disagreements upon this topic, I believe CTF needs to take a side as to whether or not it is a sin (along with any other debates that frequently arise) and if we agree with CTF, we'll stay, and if not, we'll leave. It's kind of ridiculous that on a christian teen forum people can come in and say masturbation, lust, porn, etc. is all right and the moderators sit back and just say, 'get back to the topic people!' because really, this website has a lot to say about what someone might be led to believe. I personally don't want to support a website that holds dear its members that have nothing true to contribute. Is this forum a business where more posts & members = success or an outreach that stands to share Gods word, fellowship with other believers, and help each other in hard times. This becomes impossible to do when the forum doesn't stick to the bible's teachings, the reason this site even exists. It might sound harsh to beat down those who are straying fellow members but in all seriousness, I don't think God, Jesus, would stand here and let it go without standing up and saying that it's wrong and show what is right.

I'll be praying for you dude, I know it's a tough process but I know you can keep it up and stand for more.

I agree with Crismon. I don't think Jesus would tolerate this.

But when they persisted in asking Him, He straightened up, and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.” -- John 8:7

I've always been under the impression that as Christians we are supposed to show love to all people, not just those people that we thought were deserving of it. Jesus walked the streets and sought out people that the general public found unacceptable (lepers, cripples, thieves, etc). Is this now how we are supposed to behave?

Connors, I will be praying for you to overcome the struggles you wish to be rid of.

If ANYONE who seeks love and support for whatever might be troubling you, please feel free to PM, IM, or e-mail me. I would be more than welcome to show you how love really works.

I don't think Jesus would tolerate it, I don't think He would tolerate this being left undecided wether it is a sin or not by the CTF staff in general. Did you know that the CTF stance to homosexuality is undecided and to masturbation is also neutral? Not a clear definition on wether it is sin or not.

And yes, we all need to pray about masturbation problems because IT IS a problem.

I find it very amusing that you're trying to sell me that CTF is a bad forum site because they decide to stay neutral on the 2 most controversial subjects that Christians deal with.

Personally, I think that Jesus would tell us that there are far more important things to worry about than whether a website decides on whether to allow topics regarding masturbation or homosexuality.

Regardless, it would be best NOT to start a debate here in this thread where the OP is simply asking for prayer requests. Feel free to PM your campaign against CTF to me.

If anyone who seeks love and support for whatever might be troubling you, please feel free to PM, IM, or e-mail me.

This is my statement: I never said CTF was bad. My intentions are not aimed at allowing those topics. My intentions are in regulating them.

Hitler regulated beliefs contrary to his as well

and CTF's position on Homosexuality is that it is a sin. I don't know why you have a hangup on this, but you should really stop, its making you look bad, and its not even in line with the topic at hand.

Oh dear.. you just don't understand. It's important to correct those who are in error... is that too hard to understand? Don't say that this is my belief or my own thinking or whatever because the bible is clear enough to point out that masturbation or homosexuality is wrong.

And BTW I was replying to mcdawgs post.

Hi Conners. Congratulations on your victory over obssesive masturbation. Going from twice a day to three in three months is quite an achievment.

I am reading a book at the moment "Set Free" by Dr. Neil Anderson. He says that obsessive masturbation is the product of satanic activity in the person's life and a distorted identity so the person does not know who he is in Christ. Once you do, you can draw on that to overcome that which is distastful to you.

Here is part of a testimony that he has written up that might be of interest to you.

"In particular, I learnt that my emotions and my actions are governed by who I believe myself to be. If I believe a lie about my essential nature, whether it is from the world, the flesh or the devil, then I will act according to that belief. Similarly, if I believe what God has said about me, then I will govern my thoughts and my actions that proceed from those thoughts in accordance with God's will."

Perhaps it will help you when you are tempted to tell yourself who you are in Christ (your real identity) rather than believe the distorted image that has been created through your masturbation as it is usually the product of feeling lonely, rejected and needing to be loved.

This might be in the "16+ Men's Topics" section, but Conners is still making a prayer request.

Do not debate masturbation here - if you want to do that, you can make your own thread. I'm going to delete further "debating" posts which appear here.
