Losing faith ?

Recommended Posts

Hi I'm a teen struggling with faith and I don't know what to do. I want to make this forum for kids who are also struggling with their faith.

So I am a 15 year old American-European, my parents are missionaries and I've lived in Europe my whole life.

Lately I've been struggling with my faith. I think I accept that there is a God because I do not believe humanity is an accident and I think everything is just too perfect. But I've never spiritually experienced God. I know people that say God's talked to them, answered prayers, touched their heart...but I just can't understand that because I haven't experienced it.

Sometimes I wonder why christianity is right and Islam is wrong, like why am I a christian ?..

Sometimes I wonder If there is spiritual life or just physical..

Are there aliens ?

Why does God not want us to be gay ?

I just don't understand enough to satisfy myself.

Please help me, pray for me, share your own struggles...

Another user named Clark once told me that this idea of losing "faith" doesn't exist. It is 95% in our heads that we're losing our faith. I would love to answer the other questions, but other users are much more able in answering your questions.

It is completely normal to question one's faith, I am a Christian and there are times when I have doubted God's existence, although I know without a doubt that God exists. One of the ways to build your faith is by spending time reading the bible, praying, never give up on God. I know christian websites that are very good at answering tough questions. I do not know if I am allowed to share the website here.

One of the greatest issues that people have is about evolution, whether man evolved from animal. Man did not evolve from animals. As a matter of fact in the 'nine satanic statements' it states that Satan represents man as an animal. Satanists also support fornication, homosexuality, committing sins. There is a book entitled 'Marx and Satan' which shows in fact that Karl Marx was a Satanist.

Another thing I should mention is that countries that are led by atheists have been responsible for millions and millions of death. North Korea for example is an atheist nation.

I also wanted to share that when persons disobey the bible there are consequences. The sexual activities that gays are involved in hurts their health. When persons fornicate it hurts their health (sexual transmitted diseases), enable the person to have a greater chance of having unwanted pregnancies, is psychologically and emotionally damaging.

I also wanted to share a Christian article with you

Another thing that I need to mention is that Charles Darwin himself was racist.  Darwinism is used as a justification for racism, eugenics.

Your first paragraph was fine, but the rest is quite unnecessary. Darwinism, evolution, homosexuality, and Satanism have very little to do with her losing faith.

I totally relate to you, except in a different way on the whole lived in Europe. Instead i live in China, and I hear all these amzing stories on how locals here in china come to chr'st. You see, my mother is fom germany and my father is from hong kong. They both met in america and married. and then they had three children and adopted me from china. after that they got a calling G'd to go to china and be missiona'ries. I've grown up learning all about chr'st and currently i'm in the same boat as you, i'm not sure wether or not i should be a chr'stian.

Hmm... There is no problem in doubting because doubt is something that encourages somebody to think whether something is true or not. I forgot who said this but he said that don't choose/go to Christianity because it makes you feel good or it makes you feel comfortable or makes you happy. Rather choose it because it is true. We all have questions and asking question is not bad. What is bad is being consumed by fear.

This is good news! Doubting means that you are truly seeking God. You want to know God, and you want to love God. Doubts themselves are not bad, it's when you give in to them that bad things happen. You know the Truth, you know God's love for you. He is at work in your life, and this is part of His work. Don't give in to the Devil's temptations! I've gone through this before. I even lost faith for a day. It was a nightmare. But, I turned back to God and said "Lord, this cross You've laid upon my shoulders is too heavy for me. I can't do this alone! I need your help!" Turn back to God. Pray every day no matter how much it hurts.
