Departing from the Bible is heresy. What do you think of it?

Let’s have a discussion about the background and formation of the Bible. The Bible is a testimony of the first two stages of God’s work. This is the fact. However, not all the words and testimonies of the first two stages of God’s work are recorded in the Bible. What the Bible describes is limited. Some prophecies of the prophets and some testimonies of experience of the apostles were not collected in the Bible because of the disputes among the compilers and their omission in compiling. This is an accepted fact. Moreover, what Jesus said was far beyond what is recorded in the New Testament. Some of His works and words were not recorded in the New Testament. Just as John 21:25 says, “And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written.”because of the disputes among the compilers and their omission in compiling. We must respect the truth and shouldn’t say that there is no more word and work of God outside the Bible, because it doesn’t accord with the fact. At first there was only the Old Testament. What Jesus said in the course of doing the redemptive work cannot be found in the least in the Old Testament. Then were His words and the redemptive work within the Bible or outside the Bible? Weren’t they beyond the Bible? People are unfamiliar with the fact and don’t know the fact that the Bible was produced only after the completion of God’s each work, so they jump to conclusions: Outside the Bible there is no more word and work of God. Doing so is arbitrary and absurd! Both the Old Testament and the New Testament existed after the completion of God’s work, and as to what God would do and say after that, people didn’t know about it. This is the fact. Mankind doesn’t have the right to define the Bible or confine God according to the Bible. This shows us clearly that corrupt mankind is too arrogant and conceited and lacks reason, such that they judge willfully before the truth. Aren’t they making the same mistake as the chief priests, scribes, and Pharisees in Jewish religion did, who resisted God according to the Old Testament? So, when we believe in and follow God or investigate the true way, we should regard the Bible as a reference and shouldn’t do so entirely according to the Bible. To determine whether it is the true way, the most important thing is whether there is the work of the Holy Spirit and there is expressed the truth. Only this is the correct basis. According to this, we can make a right choice. Therefore, the idea that whatever is discordant with and beyond the Bible is heresy is really fallacious. The chief priests, scribes, and Pharisees in the Age of Grace condemned Jesus according to the Old Testament and nailed Him onto the cross. As the result, they offended the disposition of God and were punished and cursed by God. Please consider: The redemptive work of the Lord Jesus was out of line with the Old Testament. In the last days, two thousand years after His redemption, Almighty God has come to do the work of judgment. How can it be in line with the New Testament? So, using the Bible to confine the work of God is really absurd and preposterous.

     Let us see whether there are biblical prophecies concerning the work of God in the last days.

Each time God did His work, He seldom prophesied it in advance. He never prophesied His next work clearly in detail about how He would do it or what specific steps He would take, but only spoke some simple words about it. So, man finds it hard to see clearly from the prophecies how God will do His next work. Was there any prophecy before God did the work of the Age of Law? No, there wasn’t. Was it outside the Bible as it was done based on no prophecy? Of course not, because there was no Bible at that time. The Bible was born from the Age of Law. This shows us that God didn’t prophesy the work of the Age of Law before He did it. Although some prophets spoke prophecies concerning the work of the Age of Grace, they said them very simply. So, when God came to do that work, believers in the Age of Law, the Judaizers, refused to recognize Jesus’ work and accept His redemption. In the Age of Law the prophets prophesied the birth of Jesus, but why did people in the Age of Law not accept Jesus? This tells us that prophecies count for little and they cannot ensure man’s acceptance of the new work of God, for man doesn’t accept God’s prophecies or understand them. Therefore, whether or not the work of God is outside the Bible isn’t determined according to whether there are biblical prophecies about it.

        In truth, God’s works in the Age of Grace and in the Age of Kingdom are both prophesied in the Bible. The work of the Age of Grace was prophesied in the Age of Law, and the work of the Age of Kingdom was also prophesied in the Age of Law, for example, in the book of Isaiah. In the Age of Grace, Jesus also spoke of the work that God would do in the last days. The parables such as “the kingdom of heaven is like…” all refer to the work in the last days. So, there are prophecies about the end-time work in the Bible; it is only that people don’t understand them. Although we don’t understand them, we should pray and seek with a humble heart and investigate whether it is the true way. This is what man should do.

Let’s look at several clear prophecies concerning God’s end-time work which are mentioned in the books of the prophets, Jesus’ words, and the book of Revelation.

       “But you, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.” (Daniel 12:4)

       “I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.” (John 16:12-13)

       “He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit said to the churches.” (Revelation 3:6)

       “And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. And one of the elders said to me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.” (Revelation 5:1-5)

      These verses show us that God’s end-time work is not only prophesied by the prophets in the Old Testament but also by Jesus in the New Testament, and Revelation also prophesies it. That is to say, God’s end-time work isn’t outside the Bible; rather, it is prophesied in the Bible. So, the idea “departing from the Bible is heresy” does not hold water.

       Furthermore, we must be clear about this: The Bible is no more than a single drop of water in the ocean of God’s life. So, regarding the Bible as God is a blasphemy to God. There is nothing excessive about this. Believers in God must accept Christ and pursue to know Him, and it’s wrong to hold fast to the Bible. Those who accept and submit to the work of Christ can be saved by God even if they have never read the Bible, while those who only believe in the Bible and stick to it and refuse to accept Christ cannot receive God’s salvation. This is because the Bible cannot be a substitute for the work of God revealing Himself. The Bible cannot save man, and only the work of God can save man. If man could be saved by the Bible, the Lord Jesus wouldn’t have said “I will come again.” This is the fact.

But in response to your title, I don't think departing is a good idea.
