Jesus said that there'd be people in heaven that we wouldn't expect and people in hell that we wouldn't expect...

I believe that if a Muslim has never heard about the Christian Jesus and lives their life in complete devotion and in reverance of Allah, then there really is no good reason why God would send them to hell... :/

Except for, y'know, the fact that they sinned, which is good enough reason for anybody to be damned to Hell...

Different beliefs about God, same God. When you posit "maximally perfect being" as what you worship, its very hard to dictate how two people who worship that God are worshipping different entities. I could be wrong about some of my concepts about God, but that doesn't mean that suddenly I'm not worshipping God.

It is entirely possible that you and I have a different understanding of "perfection", thus it is also possible for any two person to be worshiping different gods.

It's very hard to posit a different sense of perfection when its posited in the sense the Scholastic philosophers used it and that it is now used in regards to God in theology. That you can misrepresent the meaning of "perfection" here due to a lack of context doesn't mean that you have defeated the argument, it only means you've defeated an argument that wasn't made.

Christians worship Christ, the Holy Spirit, and the Father.

Some Jews worship the Father.

Muslims worship a warped version of the Father.

No, we do not worship the same God in any way that matters.

I disagree. When my perfect being is a Jewish man on a cross, and the gnostic's is an unknowable and distant "force," the gnostic clearly does not worship my version of the perfect entity.

Yur not looking at the big picture. The Muslims who are very dedicated to their religion follow their religion, some however do bad things because of their dedication. However, dedicated Christians go out and preach the gospel to try and help bring others to Christ. There are tons of missionaries out there working hard for God. Your just looking at your Christian friends and/or family, look at the big picture of things.

What about radical christians? Killing abortion doctors and homosexuals?

QUOTE
Although they are worshiping an entity and calling it "god" that does not mean that they are right in their worship. There is only one way to salvation, and only one way to come before a Holy God.

Yet, we all say we worship the God of Abraham?
QUOTE
Yeah. Jews and Christians worship the same God.

Muslims do not.

Even if they did... the radicals of their religion worship God in an EXTREMELY wrong way.

Come on you cant say, 'I like Jews, they are nice people, so we worship the same God as us, but those dirty Muslims they dont because they have radicals, Christianity has none, so therefore they do not worship the same God.'

Ever heard of the IRA?

QUOTE
If I made a Religion and in it I said that Abraham talked to God but God said something different then what is traditionally believed, and then I worship that God... Am I still worshipping the same God of Abraham?

Thats silly, if you make up a language and decide to call God, hitre, The hitre is God, its a name.

Spanish speakers call God Dios. Therefore we dont worship the Same God as them as they worship Dios and we worship God, see how stupid that sounds?

Aren't people right in their freedom to worship as they wish?

If your answer is "no" then you must not believe in the freedom of religion thing.

How is this relevant? The question is "Do Muslims, Christians and Jews worship the same God?" Whether they are free to choose who they worship is completely irrelevant. Sigh.

On topic:
I don't think we can doubt that Christians and Jews worship the same God, although Christians obviously have the addition of Jesus and the Holy Spirit. As for Muslims... I take AquinasD's argument that they are all worshipping the infinite, perfect being, which is one and the same, but their perception of him and what he does is certainly very different.

Lol what? I said if I create a religion but in my religion I say Abraham talked to God but changed what was said would it still be the same God that Christians and Jews believe in. I dont know where you were going with your point on different languages...

You must have clicked the wrong thread. We're talking about whether Muslims, Christians and Jews worship the same God. There's probably another thread somewhere about whether people have the 'right to worship as they please'. If there is no such thread I'm sure you can go set one up.
Probably a good idea in future if you read the OP.

I do not know if this has been said or not, but, Christians believe that Jesus is the prince of peace, the King of Kings, and so on and so forth, and the Bible says if you do not know Jesus you do not know the father which is in heaven, so in all technicallities, we are worshipping different Gods.

Now there is also the major difference of the Gods we serve, the Muslims serve a distant, uncaring God, that wants anyone who doesn't worship Him murdered.(and if you read the Q'uaran thats exactly what you get) Where as the Christian-Judeo God is always reaching out to his Children and always gives them the opportunity to come back to Him. Both concepts are completely different, so different infact, that it is very hard to say that we are worshipping the same God. And that is to say, that if the Muslims are worshipping God at all, and not Satan himself.

Yes they do in fact worship the same God as us, but that does not mean that they have received cleansing through Jesus Christ. As good of lifes as they may be, they have still fallen short of the absolute holiness of God, and therefor, cannot enter into his presence, as they would corrupt him. Worshiping God doesn't get up into heaven, the forgiveness we receive through Jesus Christ the son gets us in.

This.

Yeah, I agree with this. We do all worship the same God, but Muslims' view of God is skewed. They are misguided and do not recognize God for who He is, but they are still attempting to worship Him.

But we believe that Jesus was Yahweh incarnate therefore for us Christians there is no difference. Also the Jews do believe in a Messiah figure that would be sent by God.

Our teachings and the Jew's teachings line up. Islam's does not line up with us.

There's nothing immoral or wrong with being a religion other than Christian.

So it really doesn't matter if they're worshipping the same God or not.

Diversity of belief is a GOOD thing.

But only if those beliefs conforms to a belief in diversity, the value of life, and sewer systems. God help those who don't believe in sewer systems.

And this really isn't on topic :x The OP isn't asking "is it right that Muslims worship God."

This quote has no bearing on the thread and doesn't even attempt to answer the original question. The question is, is it the same God, no whether one or the other is more valid.

This is a difficult subject.

I would say no. Muslims do not worship the same God as Christians. While they say they worship the same God known to Jews and Christians, the Quran contains very different stories to the Old Testament and New Testament. They flatly deny the Trinity and the deity of Christ and the Quran presents a warped version of the Father.

As for Jews, this too is a bit touchy. They worship the Father, but they have a very legalistic view of salvation and also deny the deity of Christ or the Trinity. Jesus said "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no one comes to the Father but through me" (John 14:6). The Jews worship only the Father, not the full Godhead, so essentially do not worship the same God we do.

They all might have stemmed from the same religion, but Muslims and Jews don't worship Jesus and they don't have the Spirit. Because of this, they cannot know the Father. They cannot be worshiping the true God of the Bible.
