Well the other day I was on a soical networking site called Myyearbook and I met this girl, we talked for about 2 hours and I got to know her pretty well (she is a christian btw), I gave her my cell# and we have been texting the last couple days as well. Today when we were talking we decided we should both tell our parents that we are doing this sort of pen pla thing, and my questions is what would be the right way to tell my dad about her without him getting on me about internet saftey, any advice???

Pray about it and ask God to just show you the way. It sounds innocent to me, but I'm not there. I have a friend that I met on here and we've been friends for about 2 years. We webcam occasionally and are really close. Just relax it's perfectly fine to have an online friend, just set up some ground rules like no meeting and no addresses but other than that you should be fine. It's fun to have a pen pal and I think that it's a testament to her character that she wants you to be open with your parents about the relationship. Hope this helps, LUV ya!

Just tell your folks, let them know that you want to talk to this person but also let them know that if they say "hey lets meet in a dark alley, next to my van with doors that only lock from the outside!!!! <3" You know you have a problem. I personally see E-mail penpals as pretty harmless as long as you keep a good head about it.
