thats just how my old youth garoup was. the fact is if its not in their hearts, they aren't gonna take it seriously or in the right way. my old church was known for its terrible youth group, kids snuck out during service, fought with the leaders, it was really bad. my parents talked to the pastor but it didn't help, so we found one with more devoted youth and just went there on sunday mornings. alot of people won't change. but you can try to tell your leaders (respectfully) or have your parents discuss it. if not or if nothing changes try to find a youth group who is serious about God. they are out there, really. or find one or two kids in your youth group now who are more serious then the others, and just have a home study with them. God's love is contagious and just you and a friend could wake the rest of the kids up! but untill they start to be more serious, just keep praying for them, the leaders and your entire church. and find a place where you can connect that can build you up not tear you down.

wow thanks, that example was SUCH a help, you have no idea. That really made the whole letter feel less overwhelming, like i can do it without it being crazy confusing or stupid. im just gonna take it in parts, and the way you explained why i was bringing this up was really good, i couldn't have worded it for myself better.

i read the entire series. yeah, she writes the books terribly and if the story line wan't so pulling i wouldn't've finished them cuz i hate bad writers.

i obsessed over the books. no doubt about it. the characters were very unrealistic like alot of you pointed out, that's why i think so many girls fall so deeply in love with this series cuz its the man they will never have. the love that doesn't really exsist. thats why they are so beautiful and yet so dangerous and depressing. its hard to explain.

in the end, i don't think i would recommend them to other people, mainly girls.. because of how it brings you to such an unhealthy view of romance that will never be real. its a sweet story yes. but just that she was so easily able to captivate so many girls and alot of guys too and make them obsessive is kina creepy and i know God doesn't approve of it.

there are also some pretty sexual arousing scenes, especially in the last couple of books that i didn't care for, but nothing R rated or anything.

in the end, i think they are okay if your are mature enough to not let them or the unrealistic ideals in them take over your thoughts and heart and feelings. the thing is not many seem able to do that.

a guy encouraging a or his girl in one of her hobbies or withe is always such a huge help, even if we don't act like it.

i like them, like when my bf calls me them, but not other guys i don't know, it makes them sound cheap and stupid. plus, i don't like ones like Sexy, Hottie etc., it makes it all about the sexual attraction. my boyfriend calls me babydoll alot, because of the song "babydoll" by the Frattelis (look it up.. the sweetest song ever!) he dedicated to me. and darlin, i like that one cuz its not used as much as others ya know?? haha but they are sweet i think, i like the endearment. i usually just say Dear to him though, calling guys babe and wtuff just feels kinda odd.

i taught myself the keyboard, i can play sheet music and just chords. its not hard but it takes alot of dedication if you wanna be good. it makes it easier that all the notes are right there and you can accidently make it too flat or sharp so easily as you can on string instruments. i have been trying to teach myself the guitar and that seems to be MUCH harder. there are so many sights that can help you too, and on youtube alot of good internet teachers
