I just got my hair done yesterday and it's oily and smelly. This started happening a year ago and now it's just annoying.

How do you fix a smelly scalp? I would wash it more often, but I lose a lot of hair when I wash it.

Shave it bald. It's easier to wash away the smell that way.

I have dandruff and very oily skin, so I know where you are coming from. Also, I lose a lot of hair when washing, so I don`t wash it too often (also because it takes about an hour to do so, as it reaches my waist). Most annoying part is dandruff is so visible because my hair is black. <_<

Anyway... I use oils as perfumes so if the scalp starts to smell before I normally would wash it again, I just rub my hands with the perfume oil and gently go over my hair with it. Not as much as issue with me because I cover the top/scalp of my head with a scarf, so only my braids are visible.

Still others dance, whirling with Your bliss.

I have the same problem especially since I have African American hair. the one product that keeps my hair from getting nasty and smelly at the scalp is optimum oil therapy shampoo and conditioner by sofsheen carson. Another thing I do once every month is use head and shoulders to get rid of any build up I may have. I would try the sofsheen carson optimum oil therapy shampoo and conditioner because it keeps your hair smelling so nice and silky smooth its like running your fingers through silk and it smells great and leaves your hair soft without looking like you were rolling around in grease.

Try tea-tree shampoo. Smells good, and helps the scalp.

Tea Tree is awesome. And it makes your head all tingly. :3
