Hey! Just so yall know, I'm considering adding a couple of characters. I've got ideas of personalities/histories/whatever, but I'm not so sure where to add them. I'm thinking Paladan, military, or researcher for my female character (think tough, nearly vulcanish but not idk). Military would be the best fit I think, but honestly I'm not super confident in my ability to play a military person. I don't *think* I want to have her force sensitive, but she would definitely sympathize with the paladin way of thinking. Researcher could also be fun. XD I'm undecided.

Second character. I was kinda intrigued by the world linked to under 'Umbric Sith' especially the race of that world, the Codru-Ji. I was thinking a young, force-sensitive Codru-Ji who had been kidnapped and sold at a young age, used in fights and later being allowed to undergo Sith training after his abilities were discovered. More a victim of circumstance than a cold hard killer, but idk, I found it interesting. ^_^

Yeppers, just train of thought. I'm not super confident in my star wars knowledge her, but I think with a couple of well worded google searches and some elbow grease I should be able to throw out some suitable characters. I probably won't have them ready to submit until tomorrow afternoon though, at the earliest.

Edit: OMGoodness so many fun potential alien species to play. XD I can't concentrate on this untill I get done with my tests but I will deffinently submit something.

Edit: Maybe three.... or four... no just two... hmmm. XD

More coming, but heres a start, tell me what yall think of him:

    Name: Jarun Garhet

    Age: 19

    Gender: Male

Personality: Raised from a young age to value strength, power and cunning in battle over all other things, Jarun is a callous and ruthless individual with a rather limited understanding of human emotion. Though not unintelligent, Jarun holds to a very simple personal code. Namely, he remains subservient and submissive who have proven themselves to be more powerful than himself and disdainful over those who have not. He has little understanding of ‘honor’ or ‘fair play’ in his battles, but this idea of a hierarchy is established firmly in his psyche. He longs for the approval of his superiors, a trait which is usually considered weak by them, and has a strong desire to prove himself more intelligent and useful to his masters than the others of his race. Though he possesses keen powers of observation and a biting wit, Jarun finds casual conversation (that not focused on fighting) to be awkward and the idea of forming true friendships to be dangerous and nearly vulgar. Though he will blindly follow those above him, he does not trust them, something that wears on him as he find himself harming himself for their biddings more frequently.

Background: The son of a respected clan leader, Jarun was captured at as a very young wyrwulf by his father’s bitter rival and brother. Rather than holding him for ransom as was custom, Jarun was sold to passing travelers who intended to use him to serve as a ‘pit fighter’ for money on the black market. From the moment he awoke groggy and sick on their ship, Jarun was forcefully made to obey. For fighting, killing and winning he was rewarded with food, reasonable sleeping arrangements and water. Losing, on the other hand would cause him to go with out for days at a time, and sustain ruthless beatings. Jarun hated his captors, but in a strange way, he grew to respect and honor them for their strength and transparent, if barbaric, system of management. Despite the fact that he was young, Jarun did fairly well in the pits and so was allowed to live. At the time of his metamorphisis, Jarun was already a successful fighter, but after emerging from his cocoon a hulking, hazel eyed, codru-ji of quick but muscular build, he was unstoppable. After emerging, Jarun discovered he had a strange new power over his opponents. He could instill fear and disrupt thoughts, he could distract and distress by mind alone. His captors, though aware of his talents were unaware of its implications and it wasn’t until Jarun was 16, as a sith master sitting in the audience during a fight recognized that he was force sensitive that it was ever truly harnessed.

It was late, after a successful night, that the sith master visited the camp of Jarun and his captors. He found Jarun chained to a post and both his captors staggering drunk celebrating their victory. Jarun watched with somber intrest as the man offered to buy him, but the captors arrogantly refused to even name a price, taunting the man instead. Both captors were killed easily, the sith master barely moving from where he stood as they approached him. For a moment, Jarun thought of fleeing. He called to the man, ‘You did not fight them honorably’. After all, this man had fought his captors when they were drunk. Not a real fight at all. The Sith, sensing his intentions merely smiled at him, and called for other members of the camp to remove Jarun’s chains. Instantly the Cordu-Ji lunged, but before he could even touch the man he found himself in excruciating pain. The short battle ended with Jarun bleeding and wimpering on the ground, something unheard of from him before, even in defeat. The Sith master approached him, Jarun assumed to kill him, but instead he reached out, touching Jarun for the first time, and dragged him to his feet. ‘There is no honor. Only those with more strength, and those with less.’ For the next three years, Jarun was trained in the ways of the force and the Sith. Though at first he was seen mostly as a talented but bestial body guard, he has slowly started to earn the respect, or at least the interest, of his superiors. Only recently has Jarun returned to Munto Codru, and as his masters view the natives as no more than animals, he finds it uncomfortable to be around members of his own race and wishes to distance himself from them.

Name: Adelaneezer-Rodelia, (Adelaide or Ad in Basic)
    Age: 39
    Gender: Female
    Faction: Jedi Heretics
    Rank: Knight
    Race: Squib

    Background:

    Pretraining:
Adelaneezer was born to Marmamaellian IV and his wife. Marry IV spent most of his young life as a quiet but high-ranking smile-behind-a-suit accountant for the Squib Merchandising Consortium. On the same year as the birth of his first daughter, however, he was exposed in double-dealings with outworlders and forced into retirement and ignominy. He receded into a skeletal existence, as quiet in his home as he had been in his office. Although Ad only lived four years with him, much of the rest of her life followed his pattern.

    The Academy
Jedi scouts found Adelaide and identified her force-affinity while she was still a four-year-old fuzzling. Her father sold her to the academy for a nominal price, happy that she’d “get to grow up with more respectable folks.”

While at the academy on H’rath, Adelaide developed a reputation among most of her compatriots as a submissive and lonely girl—especially for a Squib. The most perceptive, however, saw resentment deep within her that expressed itself in a desire to expose others as wicked frauds. Few could see the games she played, but many were reprimanded for their parts in them.

Adelaide played her most overt game when she settled into sexual maturity. There was another Squib in her academy. He was an assured drop-out—a failure constantly disciplined, who was known for his night-time booze-seeking escapades to nearby trading outposts. Ad thought he was attractive; the humiliation of such feelings made her bitter.

And so, almost unconsciously, Ad developed a scheme for him. She would attract his attention. He was no respecter of the Jedi Code, and when she gave him those subtle signals, he’d make his advance—but oh! Then she’d turn on him. Adelaide was pure and true to her oath, and he could crawl away into the nearest hole he could find.

But Adelaneezer had chosen a bad target. When she asked him for help and pulled him aside, when she gave him private looks in the secret spaces of public life, he rebuffed her. He laughed at her. Repeated rejection, alas, cemented her feelings so that when he finally gave her the opening she sought, she really loved him.

He was playing her game, and when she made her stammering confession, he turned her over to the local Council (just before he ran away to become a space pirate). Discipline was severe: these were more than ordinarily puritanical Jedi, even for their oppressive period. From then on, the signals were the same from the students and the master as they had been from the boy Squib. Adelaide was unclean. If Adelaide’s father had found her then, he would have found his script fulfilled: she had grown from a private and bitter child into a skeletal shell, depressed, and conformed to the practice of Jedi schooling only because of the rigor of her training.

    Apprenticeship
Years later, when Adelaide was 17, Master Iago broke that script.

Ad’s master, a human, took a machine that obeyed orders into his apprenticeship and treated her with all the affection of a father. In a short time, old pieces of Ad returned to the surface—warm feelings, comingled and confused with her real dad and the boy Squib. These developed to a point that they frightened her, even to the point that she abruptly asked to end her training.

Iago was clever. He would end her training, he said, but only if he had a reason to fail her; he did not want to appear incompetent to the Council. Adelaide jumped at that excuse because the self-interest diminished him in her eyes. She agreed to remain with him for a set of trials.

During those trials, Ad was drawn closer to Iago and began to experience the Force in full in spite of her determination to fail. Each one drew her to contemplate the beauty of life in various and increasingly noble forms. They invited her to transcend the scorn she’d harbored since she was a child, to be liberated to care about and to defend that delicate, organic balance. In the final act, she, with Master Iago, experienced the Force itself in a kind of vision. They joined the larger consciousness, aware viscerally in one moment of the networked individualities that composed living existence in the greater, eternal terms.

After it was over, while Iago was alive, Adelaide never again looked on any person with resentment; her days of passive aggressive games were over. Instead, she flowered under her master as a paragon of Jedi virtue. She became a knight, and for twenty years she served happily under her master.

    Heresy
Ad fell when Iago died and she went into violent mourning. Other Jedi called her to release him and to live on in the Force without such need. She could not, and she left her temple and went into deep meditation in solitude. When she emerged, she had concluded that she was unworthy to be a Jedi because she could not release Master Iago as her compatriots had. Indeed, even her old master would condemn her grief, but she would not let it go. She turned in her lightsaber.

It was in the wanderings that followed that she heard the doctrines of the heretics—teachings that resonated with her core. For a long time, she fought with herself to resist direct hostility with the Order, but in the end her decision was inevitable. She built herself a new lightsaber and made her way to Ossus to find and join these new knights.

    Personality:
Smile a lot, speak little: this is the mantra that's taken Adelaide. She seems frail, like a patient in a ward, but her kindness is genuine and even sophisticated in the way she tailors it to the individual. Like all Squibs, she loves to collect trinkets and doodads, but, unlike her hoarding brethren, she enjoys giving them away as gifts.

    Name: Saalia Sforza
    Age: 36
    Gender: Female
Appearance: Chev in race, 5’2” Like this but with purple eyes and more Jedi-like clothes:

Personality: An uptight, serious person who expects the best from everyone around her. Sometimes her patience fails her when there are shortcomings. Saalia is fiercely loyal to the Council and the Light side of the force.

Background: Saalia was born on the planet Vinsoth in the outer –rim. She was born into slavery of the Chevin like all of her race. Saalia’s father was the story-teller of their community. He was a great and mystical man, and he told his rich, vibrant tales late at night around the fireplace. One of the most important stories of her people is the idea that one day one Chev will rise up against their oppressive Chevin Masters. Within the first two years of Saalia’s life, her mother decided that Saalia would become this savior.

As Saalia grew, her mother became more erratic and the more it seemed as though Saalia may not be the savior, the more crazy she seemed to become. One day, when Saalia was 6, her mother tied her down and carved the exotic symbol under her left eye because it matched the birth-mark the savior would have. This scared her father much and he went to the Chevins asking them to sell one of the two women. In disgust, the master rejected this plea because he knew he would not get much money from a crazy woman and he did not want to sell off a healthy child. The Chevin decided to punish the mother, but this did not stop her from tormenting her child to try to mold the child into the Legendary Savior. All the Chevin punishment caused was for her to be more secretive and subversive about her efforts. The mother did everything she could to make sure Saalia’s father did not know about her actions.

When Saalia turned 10, a human Jedi, Forren Lashiec, visited their planet and had some dealings with her Chevin master. When touring the facilities, he sensed the girl’s force abilities, even though they were weak, and her depression. The Jedi bought Saalia from the Chevin in order to take her to the H’ratth temple and train her, but the move was more to take her away from the abuse than to train her. She was no great talent, a slow learner in everything except for dueling, and that was in regard to the physical side of it. She had trouble at the beginning focusing her force powers to keep her light saber at fighting force.

After only a few months into her schooling, Saalia fell in with a young squib boy, Hansector-Ribald III, known for being a trouble maker. He was pretty much the only friend Saalia could make because everyone else made fun of her and avoided her because of how slowly she was progressing. Hansector, on the other hand, couldn’t care less about her lack of progress in the temple programs and just wanted someone to cause mischief with him. For three years, Saalia slacked off and caused as much trouble with the boy as possible, but deep down she wasn’t happy with her life. What would the Jedi that saved her from her slave life think of her now?

It was when she was 13 that a major shift happened in her life. Hansector ran away to find his fortune in space. He invited Saalia to go with him, knowing that the fighting prowess she had would come in handy in the future, but Saalia couldn’t go with him. She was too afraid of what could happen outside of the academy, afraid of being taken back to her family or being enslaved to someone else.

A few months after Hansector left her completely alone and friendless in the Jedi academy Forren stopped at the temple while on a mission from the Council. He had hoped, with Saalia being older now, to take her as his Padawan and train her in the ways of the Jedi, but he was disappointed to find how little progress she had made over the years. It was at that time he made a deal with her. She had five more years, and if Saalia was caught up and ready to enter into the apprenticeship at that time, he would take her. Needless to say Saalia had a renewed sense of vigor. She started to apply herself more than ever and finally developed the kind of self-discipline needed to make up for her lack of talent with the force. She won the admiration of her, much younger, classmates and quickly advanced through the levels of training she had lagged behind to be caught up with her peers. By the time Forren returned for her, she was ready to be taken on as his apprentice.

It was at Forren’s tutelage that Saalia developed in a deep respect and love for the light side of the force. Forren was a very, very strong force-user, and he was very patient with Saalia’s shortcomings in that area even though she was very hard on herself. One day a fight went sour and Forren’s leg was injured to severely to walk. He had to get a cybernetic replacement. Saalia saw this as all her fault. She insisted that she was not good enough to be a Jedi, much less his Padawan, but Forren hushed her and told her about how the force had guided him to saving her from slavery and her mother. It was the Council’s mercy and wisdom that allowed her to become a Jedi, even though they were aware of how weak she was in the force. Impressing on her the idea of destiny and the fact that this where she was meant to be. He touched the scar under her eye and told her she needed to trust more in herself, the force and her superiors. It was at that time that she realized that she was just a vassal to the force and to the Council. She swore to Forren that she would do whatever she could to forward their goals.

Shortly later, Saalia took the trials and was accepted as a Jedi Knight. She continued to grow through meditation and reading in the ways of the force. She became surer of her place as a servant of the force and the surer she became, the more dogmatic about following the ideals of the Jedi council. She stopped accepted failure or faltering of the people around her. It came to the point that Saalia was not only known for her fighting abilities that had always been good, but for her devotion to the force. That is why she was assigned to be a Paladin and fight for the Jedi code she promised to uphold to her master all those years ago.

OT: As a side note, Saalia took on, before being assigned to the Paladins a young Jedi named Layla as her Padawan. I dunno exactly how their relationship is going to work out. I’ll PM Ambassidor to get that straightened away after she reads this.

    Name: Damarys Vadi
    Age: 36
    Gender: Female
    Appearance:

    Personality:

Damarys is exceptionally curious about the workings of Universe, and maintains a childlike sense of wonder. She is very ambitious, but channels her ambitions into large-scale utopian projects instead of a quest for personal wealth and power. Though she is committed to the use of "the Art" of rationality--scientific and Bayesian methodology, reciprocal criticism of theories and ideas, and a systematic effort to identify and counter natural tendencies toward bias and flawed cognition and perception--she is far from any stereotype of a cool and dispassionate Thinker. Damarys can often get carried away by her excitement over some new discovery or idea. She enjoys what she considers to to be tasteful luxury, but frowns on what she considers to be excessive or conspicuous displays of wealth, such as gigantic mansions or star-yachts.

    Background:

Damarys is the youngest daughter of an extremely wealthy family from Naboo. Her father Tahri is CEO of a vast interstellar business conglomerate, the Vadi Integrity. He raised his children to become executives in his business empire the way a feudal dynast grooms his children to be nobles and potential successors. Damarys lacked any aptitude for corporate politics and was not terribly interested in profits. Noticing her bent for math and science, Tahri saw to it that she received the very best educational opportunities and moved her into the Integrity's research division.

Though she performed well there, the higher she rose through the ranks, the more her priorities began to conflict with her father's. The breaking point came when she sold her Integrity stocks and options and the most expensive of her homes, and used the money to found the Aspire Research Combine. Instead of seeking opportunities for profit, Damarys set out to address problems like poverty and pollution, concerning herself with money only insofar as it was necessary to continue her work.

    Faction: Aspire Research

    Rank: Archon

    Name: Kaori Sa'an

    Age: 62

    Gender: Male

    Appearance:

    Personality:

Kaori is gentle and contemplative. Though he is an extremely capable combatant, fighting is always his very last resort. He is a teacher who asks questions rather than gives answers. He exhibits a deep compassion that is palpable to anyone in his presence.

    Background:

Like most Jedi, Kaori was taken from his family at a very young age. As a Youngling, he excelled in meditation and Force abilities, but his talent for combat left much to be desired. When no Knight accepted him as a Padawan, he was sent to the Jedi Service Corps, where he became a Healer. There, his Force talents came into full flower, and he came to believe that the core attribute of a Jedi should be the practice of compassion, and their role as warriors and diplomats for the Republic should be secondary. He continued to train in the martial arts skills he had been taught, as a spiritual and contemplative practice.

When raiders attacked the field hospital where he was serving to seize drugs and slaves, Kaori was able to hold them off until reinforcements arrived. The Jedi Knight leading the rescue party was astonished that such a skilled fighter had been sent to the Corps and offered to take the young man as a Padawan. Kaori negotiated an unusual arrangement: for half the year, he would accompany the Knight on his missions and complete his Jedi training; the other half, he would return to the Service Corps.

Kaori never abandoned the Service Corps as he rose through the Jedi ranks. Through his career, he served in each of its branches. By the time he became a Master, Kaori was renowned as a scholar and mystic of the Order. When the Jedi Council wanted someone to lead an expedition to the ancient ruined Jedi Library at Ossus in search of a way to insure a permanent end to wars between Jedi and Sith, Kaori was the obvious choice. He chose his best students and friends, and brought them to Ossus. There they excavated the ruins and pored through the ancient records and holochrons they found.

One day a pair of the scholars were caught stealing a kiss in secret and brought before Kaori. Looking in their eyes as each sought to protect the other from shame and banishment, Kaori thought he had found the answer they were looking for. He brought the entire group together and began asking questions that led each, starting with those most inclined to punish the couple, to discover the inner wounds they suffered as a result of being severed from love. Then he told his own story, of the times he wondered what became of his parents and siblings, the opportunities for love that he had forsaken for the Jedi, the times he'd envied the families he'd helped for the simple affections they could share and he could not. As they shared, they all felt it: hate for the Jedi Order and the pain its rules had brought, suppressed and hidden from themselves and each other. This, they decided, was the wellspring of the Dark Side, the root of Jedi defections to the Sith. The cure was not to continue suppressing it, but to heal the wounds that created it in the first place.

Dutifully, he reported the group's findings to the Jedi Council, and joined his students in trying to work out the best way for a community of Force-users to operate, so that Sith-spawning hate would never arise among them.

Okay, I hate to bump this, but is there anything we're waiting on. I know I have one more character that I'd like to throw into the mix, and I'll try to get 'em posted up soon, but besides that is there any reason why we can't start this thing up?

So we have our complete cast of characters (with the exception of Zabby's upcoming character) then? If we're ready to start then I'll get to work on the opening post.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. ~ Philippians 4:8

    Name: Denzin Adaavi
    Age: 20
    Gender: Male
    Race: Cordun-Ji
    Appearance: Denzin.jpg
Personality: Rather quiet and standoffish. Denzin has a hard time mixing with everyone else because he honestly doesn’t trust himself or the people around him. He puts up walls because he doesn’t feel worthy of having friends, but this simply makes his training harder.

Background: Raised in a small, rural village on Munto Codru, Denzin had a normal life until he was 15. It was at this age that the Sith came upon his village and found that he was force sensitive. They at first tried to convince Denzin to come with them, but he refused, not seeing the point in coming with these people when he was already using his powers around the village to make things better. He didn’t see what the Sith had to offer him. They responded to his refusal by beating him into submission and burning his village to the ground, killing everyone Denzin had ever found dear.

This brought out unknown and unrivaled anger within Denzin. He allowed himself to be trained by the Sith and how to use the Dark side of the force under the promise that one day he would be allowed to kill those who had stolen his family and homeland from him. He progressed quickly through the training and became a very useful tool for the Sith, but he always despised his masters, constantly challenging them to duels. He was anxious to defeat those who destroyed everything he loved and held deal, so he was often injured and hurt by taking on more than he could handle.

One day during the training, another Cordun-Ji arrived. He was a year younger than Denzin, and there seemed to be more then that wrong with him. His comrade had a great love for the Sith and no love at all for his countrymen. They got along well enough because Jarun respected how much Denzin knew about the Force and his quest to defeat their masters, but Jarun always seemed to shut down when Denzin tried to discuss the plight of their people with him. He seemed to be so out of touch with his countrymen.

A while after Jaurn’s arrival, Denzin challenged the master that had destroyed his village in combat yet again. The man humored him, thinking this battle would end like all the other ones, with Denzin howling for mercy, but it did not end that way. This time, Denzin was able to harness the full force of his hate and strike down the master who had taken his life away from him all those years ago. After completing this act, his superiors congratulated him, telling him he was finally ready to become a Knight of their order and work for them, but Denzin could not accept this. Something within him wasn’t happy. Something knew that this was not how his village would have wanted him to act. He had tried to avenge the loss of his loved ones, not by honoring their memory, but by becoming the very thing that destroyed them. It was with this realization that Denzin ran from the Sith, stealing one of their smaller space craft, he fled the planet.

It was fate that Denzin ran into Kaori Sa’an one day outside of a bar. Having no money and no life direction, Denzin was living as a hobo when Kaori saw his lightsaber and decided to talk to the boy. Hearing his life story, the kindly man offered to take him back to the Heretics, and Dezin agreed. Now, Denzin lives with the Heretical Jedi, trying to rehabilitate himself. It is very hard for him to divorce himself from the more dangerous parts of the Darth Side. So much of his power is still driven off of his hatred of the Sith, but it is a learning process and Denzin is trying. Only Kaori Sa’an knows of his true history with the Sith. Everyone else just assumes that he is a force sensitive alien that they happened to pick up on their journey and train. This is believable because Denzin is constantly working on the basics and fundamentals to try to retrain himself to us hope and love instead of hatred to fight.

    Faction: Heretical Jedi

    Rank: Ex-Sith Knight
