Are we not allowed to have gifs in our signatures anymore? I keep trying to add one but all it does is put a link there instead. It's getting really frustrating.

Nope, I see what you did, and I can upload a gif as a signature picture now-- but the code for putting it into my signature still isn't working.
EDIT: Wait a sec. I think I got it figured out. Looking down below, in my permissions, it says:
"Allow Image BB Code No"
