So let's daydream a little. Hypothetically, if God called you to start a church what would it be like?

Name of the church
Service days/times
Service order, music, worship and stuff, etc.

I'll post mine after other people post theres.

Honestly, I've always thought the pastor and perhaps a few select others should live at the church so that the doors can be open at all times. I'd want the music to be technically more advanced in terms of sophistication and execution. Perhaps even an entire orchestra would be nice... As for the name, just so long as Grace is somewhere in the title, no preference.

Name: Wholehearted Holiness Assembly

The meaning behind the name: We believe in a wholehearted, no reservations, Christianity. We believe that God has called us to holiness and not to uncleanness. We believe in loving, serving, and obeying the Lord wholeheartedly, holding nothing back. We believe that sin is the only thing that can separate us from God and that holiness is the bond that glues us to Him. Therefore we desire wholehearted holiness unto the Lord.

I hope the name would encourage everyone that comes to our church to really pray, sing, seek, serve, obey, and love the Lord with all their hearts, holding nothing back.

I like Resurrection Baptist Church.

Sunday School, renamed LifeWalk.
Sunday Morning worship (contemporary) at 10:45 AM to 12:00 noon.
Sunday Evening worship (traditional with contemporary songs put to piano) at 6:00 PM.
Wednesday Evening worship (contemporary) at 6:30 PM.

Communion every other week on Sunday Morning.
The pastor would preach out of the NIV Bible.
We would have NIV pew Bibles.
A nice sized church, not too large, not too small. Auditorium large enough for say...600? And the building would be two-story.
Periodically, if possible, we would have bands in like Tenth Avenue North, Jeremy Camp, Thousand Foot Krutch, etc. tongue.gif

St. Therese Cathedral, done in a Baroque-Gothic style (the flying buttresses, vaulted ceilings and everything).

There will be Tridentine Latin Masses daily. Absolutely no guitars allowed.

And of course it will be in communion with Rome.

I like the name. In have experienced His resurrection power in my life, but there will be no resurrection without first going to the cross and dying to sin and self.

Philippians 3:10 - That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
[11] If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

Name of the church: The Church @ (Name of Location i.e South and First street)
Service days/times: Our doors are always open
Service order: Pray, Worship, Open Mike (people can come up and pray/prophesy), Interactive small groups designed to train people in ministry wherever they are (work, school, etc)
music: Hyms, contemporary,
Focus: Not on the service itself, but outside the four walls. If the "church service" isn't raising up and training people to serve others, then we have failed.

Now find me a church like that. smile.gif

I would go there!

My church would be similar to that, but dedicated to St. Alphonsus and Our Lady of Fatima, and connected to a monastery whose monks would chant the Divine Office daily, open to the public. They would spend the rest of the time praying for my soul, because in this alternate reality where I am rich enough to found a church, I am their wealthy benefactress. smile.gif
