I know a few people in my area who died of the swine flu. Trust me, it's not just dirty people in Mexico dying of it. Very sad. A lot of people in my school already have swine flu and are out. From what they've told me, it's worse than the regular flu, but still technically "a mild case" of H1N1. But anyways, I will, under NO circumstance, get the vaccine. I don't trust doctors one bit. Excuse me, nobody knows all the side effects of this stupid vaccine. So how am I leeching off people who are getting vaccinated? They don't protect us at all. Just because my neighbor got vaccinated means I'm protected by them? That means I'm not gonna get it? Sweet. Too bad that doesn't work. Well, you had your rude opinion, so here's my rude PERSONAL opinion, which I don't expect anyone to share: I think anybody who gets the vaccine is a freaking idiot. The end. Hey your entitled to you opinion although i would suggest you try to show a little more grace and acceptance to others even if they dont have the same opinion as you. Biting someones head off never accomplishes anything. Btw.. love the video clip, although i really hate her! |

Anyone who has reviewed dependable studies on vaccines knows that protection (if any at all) offered by a vaccine is not 100% certain, or even close. Adverse, sometimes fatal reactions to vaccines have occurred many times since the advent of vaccines. Also, there has been more than one dangerous mishap in relation to vaccines (Baxter's contaminated batches shipped off to Africa, anyone?). Most of the ingredients of vaccines are unknown (to the average person, at least), but we are aware of some ingredients which are known toxins, and others whose sources are considered by many to be unethical (aborted fetal tissue).
Understanding these premises, it it not at all unreasonable to be wary of vaccinations, and to opt out of receiving them and giving them to our children...children, whose immunities are incomplete. I would be especially be wary of giving my child a vaccine that, in the case of the H1N1, is brand new, with no track record, and little to nothing known about how they affect immature immune systems. Also, I'll just come right out and say this...I'm a bit of a cynic, and I have no trust for the government. (I'm not referring to your city mayor or anything of that sort. I'm talking higher up.) I do not...do not believe that they have the best interests of the people in mind. I know too much about certain topics to brush it away and consider it a funny coincidence. Funny, indeed! I think the government wants us drugged up, dumbed down, and maxed out. Call me crazy (I won't deny it On topics like these, I think it's best to refrain from insulting others' intelligence with derogatory terms. People who are pro-vax should respect that those of us who are anti-vax have conducted our own research, too, and are not acting out of irresponsibility. One more thing I'd like to say about vaccines. Some people come from getting vaccinated going, "No side effects yet, I'm a-okay!" Not that I have ill will for anyone, but adverse or fatal side effects don't have to be immediate. They can occur years...decades from the time of the vaccination, even gradually causing your health to decline over a longer period of time. You can always give a person a vaccine. Once it is given, though, you can never take it back. /rant... hehe. I'm just a little bit passionate, can't you tell. |

My area doesn't have the vaccine yet or else I would have gotten it since I'm a college student and have a terrible immune system. Now I have the swine flu
GET THE VACCINE IF IT'S AVAILABLE! I can't stress it enough. I've had pneumonia 4 times, galbladder, various infection and viruses. This is the worst I have ever felt. This post has been edited by parkingwars: Oct 30 2009, 05:03 PM |

Nope. Considering I'm pretty sure I have it at the moment, I don't see any point. Plus, my room-mate had to get the shot, since she's becoming an LPN, and she definitely has it. Seriously, it's a brand-new vaccine, so how do they really know if it even works? Oh, and when they tell you that the vaccine strain isn't contagious? It's so not true...I'm the 5th person I know to get it from someone else that's gotten the vaccine.

Its not wrong to tell someone that you think their oppinion is wrong but it is wrong to belittle them for their oppinion. Try and show a little grace and love to others even when they dont agree with you completely on everything. You'll have to show me where I ever belittled anyone for their opinion. I infact said that I would not call her foolish for choosing to trust in and get vaccines. While of course I disagree, my objection was not against her opinion, but her complete lack of respect and courtesy to others. I'm sorry, but I will not stand by and let someone attack, name call, and belittle others. I will stand up for them. I will try to explain to that person how and why they are wrong for acting in such an ugly manner. She is free to have her opinion. I may not agree with her, but I'd never try to silence her or tell her she couldn't express her opinion; however I DO object to the rude treatment of others. Would God want me to stand by and say nothing? Or would he want me to confront her in love to show her where she is going wrong. |
