I'm new here, I posted over in the intro thread, so check it out for more info on me, but basically I have been struggling with masturbation for about 4 years now. I recently have decided to get right with God and this is in my way. I lust alot and anytime I try to stop I can go about a week, and then I give in. I'm not even sure 100% what an accountability partner is, but it sounds like I need one, so message me if you can help. BTW I am 15 so 15 or 16 year olds would be nice. I'm sorry but I dont have time to be an accountability partner at the moment, but let me tell you how I got free! I came to the site for the same reason as you about 2 weeks ago. I immediately posted trying to set up an accountability group, figuring more men could help even better, however after a few days nobody had replied. So i decided to downsize my expectations and posted pretty much the same thing as you did. And I was again, a few days waiting on replies. But during this time during my browsing on the subject of freedom from masturbation, I found a post by a member on here recommending a site called Setting Captives Free. So I looked it up, turns out its a totally free site that offer a number of courses to set people free from habitual sin, including masturbation and pornography. Now I'm not working for this site in any way now! I'm not selling endorsements or whatever. I am just a brother in Christ trying to be free of this sin. I've been doing the 60 day Sexual Purity course for the last 2 weeks or so. Its great, requires about 30 mins of interactive reading and answering questions per day. You are automatically paired with a mentor, who has been freed of masturbation and sexual sin through this course, and they are your accountability partner. So there you go! I have visited the site before, but im not sure about a few things. 1. Will you ever have to come face to face with your mentor 2. Is is discrete and confidential 3. Will they ask for personal info 4. What if I dont have access to the internet for multiple weeks (vacation) how would this work? You're encouraged to get an accountability partner from the "real life"; someone you can trust, but they do not divulge personal information of you. 3. Will they ask for personal info I suppose you're talking about your full name or something, in which case, the answer is no. 4. What if I dont have access to the internet for multiple weeks (vacation) how would this work? I'm not sure with this one. The most I was off for was around 3 days. My mentor asked me about it, and I replied accordingly. At any rate, it would be good if you communicate with your mentor that you intend to take vacations for those weeks.
