I live in small-town Idaho, but as long as a place has a library, I can be happy there! European history... British history in particular... is the great passion of my life, aside from Jesus and the theater. I want to move to England after college.

I guess it goes without saying I'm a bit of a nerd... though I'm something of a failure as a stereotypical nerd, due to my idiocy regarding all technology.

I'm also sort of a fail as a stereotypical girl (I'd rather hit the bookstore than the mall, and I hate makeup and shopping for shoes... don't we all have better things to do with our lives than look at each others' feet? Same goes for celebrity gossip. And I don't cry 'Sexism!' at every stinking thing.), and as a stereotypical college kid (opera > pop music; quiet evening > party; documentaries > blockbusters). But that's okay, because I don't like stereotypes anyway!

I've written five full-length novels and hope to be published one day.

I am obsessed with kitties, especially mine, even though she is a degenerate creature of darkness who hates me and regularly plots my demise.

I will never be too old for animated movies, or for Narnia; my favourite authors are Lewis, Tolkien, Dickens, Chesterton, MacDonald, Shannon Hale, Diane Stanley, Lloyd Alexander, Cinda Williams Chima, the Bronte sisters, Jane Austen, Alfred Lord Tennyson, Victor Hugo, Madeleine L'Engle, and Dante Alighieri.

I have a lot of opinions and love face-to-face debate, but avoid the debates forum because of some past experiences with similar forums.

Um... I think that's it! Now you know more about me than you ever cared to. Congrats!

  1. So, how goes it sis?

      Quite well, and for yourself?

  2. Well, I think that's pretty accurate. It can be hard to remember that historical figures were real human beings, but they were. Alexander, like any other person, had strengths and weaknesses. I would agree more with the textbook, I suppose; but I think it's actually good that the school is sending you 'mixed messages', because that's the only way to really learn anything about history. Every historian is biased, so you need to read a wide range of sources to gain a true understanding of any historical figure. And Alexander the Great just happens to be an absolutely fascinating topic, so I assure you that if you decide that you want to continue researching him to get a better understanding, you'll have a blast.
  3. Relationships. With God, with my family and friends, even with casual acquaintances, directors, and professors.
  4. Two things I wish guys knew, inspired by an exchange after class today: 1) I wish guys knew that it's not so very shocking for a girl to like some of the same things they do. Yes, I like Douglas Adams, Monty Python, Rowan Atkinson, Alfred Hitchcock, Victor Hugo, Dante. No, I do not like reality TV, Pretty Little Liars, manicures, romantic comedies, or shopping for shoes. This is due to the fact that I am a person, not an archetype. 2) I wish guys knew that I am not trying to make a point by reading Adams or watching Hitchcock. I am not trying to prove that I'm not 'girly.' I just like things that I like, same as you. Aaaaand, rant complete. Thank you, Internet. Oh, one last thing. I wish guys knew that it's awesome when they sing. Talent is not a must.
  5. I tried to send you a message, but it said your cant recieve anymore:P, thought we ould discuss our mutual dislike of green XD

Ah, yes. Well, I don't know why that is... but regardless, Green is a repulsive development in an otherwise stellar series. My theory is that Dekker accidentally dropped the real fourth book in the Circle trilogy into a blender along with a vampire romance and a few cans of alphabet soup... and this travesty was the result.

Lol yep pretty much that summed up how i felt about green:P

so have you read outlaw yet?

  6. I wish you would leave me alone. I even told you so, straight up. Isn't it bad enough that you broke my heart? Now you have to disregard my wishes, too? I get that you still want to be friends. But you cheated on me, and you lied to me, and you treated me like no friend should ever be treated. I want nothing to do with you. I don't know how to make it any clearer than that. And I know you think this is still about the breakup... heck, maybe it is, to an extent. Because I'm not like you. I can't turn love on and off like a switch. More than a year later, and I'm still trying to find the 'off' setting. Why would you want to force yourself on my life and hurt me even worse than you already have?
  7. Banned for replacing the awesome space narwhal picture of yore with a vague instruction to 'put a bird on it.' Put a bird on what, pray? And what bird? You thoughtlessly assume that we are all as wealthy in birds as yourself. Did you ever think that not everybody always has a bird on hand? Did you? Did you?

  9. Years ago. Now I really want a waffle. When was the last time you found a dime?
  10. Can I type? Yes. Can I type accurately? That;s anytone;s guess. Hmmm. Better than I expected. Anywho. Can you carry a tune?
  11. Hello! So, as many of you know, I am something of a tech moron, and this new format drives me to weep. Could somebody please take pity on a suffering history major and tell me how to give myself a signature picture? Many thanks!
