  1. The mods appear to still be unwilling to just expurgate and post my goodbye thread, so I suppose this will do. Ta ta, my lovelies!

      Wait, what?

  2. Well while I can't congratulate you for being born-again if you started out Catholic; at the end of the day it's however ones relationship with God works for them. It's good that you've figured yours out.
  3. Rules suck, don't they? Don't want to follow them? Don't. But just know you're disappointing the Man Upstairs; and that's no good.
  4. Sup homeslice

  5. Stop stealing crap from the internet and not citing it, Bryce.
  6. Can... can those who haven't read the Quran and are just prooftexting off the internet... stop?
  7. I fail to understand why "unbelievers go to hell" is such a radical statement from Islam. It's shared by Christianity as well.
  8. Daycare isn't free, for one, and probably isn't an option for the low-income families more susceptible to abortion.
  9. You all may live, the rest of the thread must be put to death however. Special mention for Carolus Rex; Howlin' Wolf is simply delicious, although I think BB King's cover of Sitting on Top of the World is superior. I have spent much of today listening to Seal's album "Soul" which covers soul and Motown standards from across the genre. He stays true to the spirit of the classics, but injects them with new life and vigour which makes the entire album (and one or two from it's successor, "Soul 2") compulsive listening to a Motown junkie like myself.
  10. Saying that those who have abortions should be put to death, or insinuating the same, is unchristian barbarism.
  11. There was Adam, happy as a man could be; Till Eve got him messin' with that old apple tree; Ain't that just like a woman? Yeah just like a woman; Ain't that just like a woman, they'll do it every time

Sorry, but I think it's still offensive.

You don't have to apologize, it's just that I knew there would be a reaction like this.

  12. Just FYI, in contradiction to your profile, Catholics don't pray to the Pope or the bishops; but rather pray FOR them. #TheMoreYouKnow

No, it's an opinion. If he doesn't like it then he can take it up with me.

  13. Not racist, realist. But that's neither here nor there.
  14. That's Indian men for you. Just block him.
  15. Not wanting to be seen in the same light as Frigid, I suppose I really should elaborate. I'm disgusted, not to the point of vomiting, but close, with Ireland's hearty rejection of the teachings of the Catholic Church. Given the Church's rich history with Ireland and the historic legacy of Irish faithfulness to Catholicism, this is very deeply disappointing. As regards homosexuality itself, I don't find it gross. Unless the homosexuals are, like, ugly or something.
  16. If I want your opinion on my debate tactics I'll ask for them; until then either make the argument yourself or hush.
  17. Calm yourself Bubba. There's a difference between: "I'm too frustrated by your post to reply." and "Well screw it, you've defeated me."
  18. Don't let the door hit you on the way out; safe travels otherwise.
  19. I haven't failed to read your earlier post, I just didn't feel like addressing the "but I have black friends!" card; and you have twice referred to US Muslims in the way one refers to tamed animals. I simply don't have the time for this anymore, I don't have the ability or really at this point the inclination to deal with how staggering your posts on this subject are.
  20. Ah, and here the rabid exegetical literalism, so depressingly common amongst fundamentalists of all major religions, comes out to play. While I don't speak for Caleb, your dichotomy between biblical symbolism and biblical literalism which reduces it to: "To you, does God ever actually mean anything he says, or is it all just some wish washy believe what you want and you'll be saved thing?" is ridiculous, overwrought, and insulting. Is it so unbelievable that God, Father of the Universe, might for a second use the richness of symbolism and figurative language to impart his Revelation?
  21. JAG, I don't really care if you want to be ignorant, racist, and uneducated. There are a lot of your folk out there, usually harassing Muslims trying to go to mosque on Friday or shouting obscenities at women with covered heads. It is entirely your prerogative. However, and I say this with the utmost seriousness, there is a point I think you're missing and a book I'd like to recommend. First off, Islam is not a cultural religion. What I mean is, it's not intrinsically Arab. A lot of people associate the two, and the use of Arabic as a "liturgical language" in Islam and the common usage of Arabic phrases doesn't exactly diminish that impression. But Islam is one of the fastest growing religions on Earth. Millions of people convert to it each and every day. There are white Muslims, black Muslims, Muslims in Germany, Russia, China, Japan, Brazil, France, etc. and countless numbers of them are converts. The Qur'an refers to embracing Islam and Allah as "the most trustworthy handhold, which will never break." You've done a bang-up job trying to make Muslims look like ignorant savages, but you've forgotten that not all of them come from Camelstan and bathe in the blood of UN soldiers. Also, No god but God: the Origins, Evolution, and Future of Islam is a well-informed and well-written book by a Muslim-American scholar which not only serves as a great introduction to Islam, but also an impassioned call for Islamic liberalism and a revolution in Quranic interpretation. Give it a read some time and try not to vomit when it portrays Arab Muslims, on occasion, as regular people.
