Masturbation is a sin because it's a fruit of lust. You want to have sex and thats normal and it's not a sin to want that, but when you start to want to have sex you start thinking sinful thoughts and maybe even worse if you are not fully in faith that you have a new heart of flesh, that sin has no more dominion over you etc. Actually, because we don't fully have faith in what God has said we don't experiance what is written in the scriptures. The word of God must become flesh in the believer and that the Lord must cleanse your heart from lusts like this and desires that does not please Him. Remember the prophets prayer: Create in me a clean heart (Psalm). You actually have to do all of this, start to memorize bible verses so when lusts come or whatever you start to say the bible verses to yourself, over and over and over and over and over again. Always have the word of God in your mind. This is called repentance. To think differently. Remember, the carnal mind is emnity against God. Take time to sit down and read Romans 6:4, 6:6, 6:11, 6:14, Romans 8:2 and Ezekiel 36: 25-29 over and over again until you experiance a transformation. The scriptures teach: that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God''. It is also written that Gods word is spirit and life. If you do this, you will be transformed. If you are masturbating and looking at pornography then you must find out the reason why you are doing it. Whats behind it? Is it that you need comfort? Do you do it when you are stressed? Don't worry, God will be there for you if you can't find out. You also have to be careful on what your mind is at. Is it at the things of God or the things of the flesh? (Romans 8:5-6). Read these two bible verses. Start or continiue to have the word of God in your mind, say the verses to yourself in your mind and have also your eyes fixed on Jesus (Hebrews 12:2). The danger of not doing this is what is written in the scriptures: But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. Then when lust has concieved, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death. (James 1:14-15, NASB). I finish by quoting what is written in Galatians 5:16: But I say, walk by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh (NASB). A soulish person is a person that lives by his mind, will and emotions. The soul is mind, will and emotions. When a human gets saved the spirit is the part that gets saved. The scriptures teach that now we work on the soul, thats the secound part that needs to get saved and the last part that will be saved is the body. This is simple put. There is more to this so: don't jump to any conclusions without looking at the whole picture. The whole picture have to be given by the Lord. Just saying. :-)

It sounds 'legit'. What you have to ask yourself is: 1) Does this view help you to continiually grow, mature and set you free from sin? 2) Does this make you take your walk with Christ more seriously and 3) Is this view carnal, maybe from the kingdom of darkness or Gods kingdom?. Remember: The carnal mind is emnity against God(Rom 8:7)'' Ask the Lord for the right view. He will give you truth and it is written: The truth shall set you free''. It's true that we have to continiue our walk no matter what we feel. The soulish parts of the human must be destroyed because being a soulish person will not help you walk in faith which is how we are called to live and of course being a soulish person will create obstacles in other ways too.

To answer your question more specifically: You are a child of God if you have the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:9), if you have the Holy Spirit, the Spirit himself will give testimony that you are a child of God (Romans 8:16). Secound of all: Many people struggle with praying and reading their bibles. Many don't know how to use the words of the Lord either. Although, there is hope. If you want to continiue on the straight path then read the bible even though you don't want to. Pray even if you don't want to. Push through the barriers. When it comes to the word of God: read the verses again and again. Work with the verses. What you read, have to become you. Eventually you will have more and more faith on the verses you read continiually. When faith comes, you will be transformed and set free. Use the verses in your daily life also. Attacks from either the flesh or spiritual forces will come and you have to use those verses in those situations. You need also to pray to get a completely renewed mind which you will get by the Spirit of the Lord (Eph 4:23). I don't believe that you are ready to be used as a vessel by the Lord yet. Use time to grow and mature. God will use you still though, he will give you tasks according to where you are in Christ. He don't give you a key to a car when you are an infant in Christ. It takes time to come to the place where you are ready to be used for the purpose He has called you to fulfill. Look at Jesus. He was 30 years old when He started His ministry and He is the pattern man of the new covenant. Good luck and God bless you according to His will and His foreknowledge in Jesus name.

I'm not really sure if the rapture doctrine is of God. One thing is sure; Jesus will return. What we should have our focus on is growth and maturity in Christ and make sure when He comes back He will see Himself when He looks at you, in other words, Christ must be formed in you. Secound of all, in the process of growing and matureing in Christ, more and more will be revealed to you when the Father decides it's time for you to get some more escathology or any escathology at all, depends on where you are at. Babes in Christ (some is actually babes for too many years, and others all their lifes) should desire the milk of the word. If you are unsure where you are in Christ then ask the Father. If the Father says you need milk, then take it, if He decides it's time for you to move on, then move. Escathology is not for babes in Christ. I believe there are too many children in Christ. Time to move on towards perfection!

I dont know where you are in your bible reading and so on, but always start on chapter 1 and work your way through there. Start in the gospels. Nobody will ever finish with the gospels. Jesus has so much to teach us in the gospels. We must never lose focus on the gospel. When you have been in the gospels for a while, move over to the apostles letters. Start with Romans etc. Read 4-5 chapters when you start then chew on what you have read. Before you start reading, Pray The Holy Spirit to give you revelation of the scripture. This is an example of what i would have done. I'm not saying that you shall lose focus on the rest of the bible. The whole bible is the Word of God. I belive that The Spirit of God will guide you.

JAG has a good point. A friend of mine had her own opinions about smoking and drinking and so on. That lasted just a while until her friends at school turned her away from that path and she started smoking and drinking. You should pray over who's your wife and who's not.

This guy is right. Feelings can be deceiving. I remember alot of times where i've felt unforgiven or other stuff, but the truth is not what you feel. The Truth is what The Lord has said. When we get feelings based on the Truth then its a right feeling. Christ is with us even if it feels like he's far away. Rejoice in your weakness! 2Co 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Seek revelation of the scriptures. Remember and embrace the love of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Lord Jesus knows everything about you. Trust Him. I dont know if you do already, but start telling The Lord everything. He wants to help you. He wants us to share the good stuff that happens and the bad stuff. Admire The Lord. He is the King of Kings and The Lord of Lords. Heavenly Father.
