  1. Interested in an update on this from anyone who still posts. I’m still masked up at work because I work in a hotel. Just last month we had a guest test positive for Covid during his stay. Otherwise I only stay masked if I’m going to be somewhere crowded. Most of the places I go around where I live are very low-traffic and there hasn’t been hardly any cases. It feels mostly safe to be sans masque.
  2. I’m sure I have at some point. Every example I can think of isn’t actually me forgetting as much as it is not caring. Have you ever washed your clothes at a public laundromat?
  3. 5 years from now I see myself working in a piercing studio and owning at least one more cat. Ideally on the Pacific Northwest, but out of Texas for sure. And to answer the “Why”, that’s the date of the Stonewall Riot. Reading about that event and all that was happening around that time is what got me interested in the history of Civil Rights. Not just for the LGBTQ+ community but it’s what sparked my passion for learning about all of it. Witnessing it in person would be pretty magical. What is a social issue that you feel passionately about?
  4. June 28th, 1969. New York City. What is advice that you feel expertly qualified to give?
  5. Mean Girls Okay, first the bad. This movie has some jokes that aged like milk. The consistent racism towards Asians, lots of very 2000’s language that isnt acceptable (not that it was then), and some mild les-phobia. Also, some of the jokes just don’t land anymore. Funny as a kid, not as an adult. Now the good. Everything else. I truly think there’s a reason this movie has stood the test of time as one of the best teen movies ever and it has nothing to do with it being “relatable”. It is still, offensive stuff aside, one of the funniest movies ever made. Rachel McAdams is flawless as Regina, Amanda Seyfried’s comedic timing is on par with Reese Whitherspoon in Election, and Lindsay Lohan in her prime was always a treat. Not to mention three of SNL’s best playing moms and teachers in really fun roles. Janis Ian is also the real villain of the story.
  6. The Priest and I met a couple years ago. He’s such a kind soul. We started talking online during the early stages of the pandemic and we still message back and forth every once in a while. As far as all of those people from my college, it’s a mixed bag. Most have gone away from churches completely and favor private practice. Occasionally meeting with other Christians via Zoom call. Others forego the Zoom call and have lost interest in attending services. Others have moved to more progressive, almost Eastern Religion take on Christianity. I guess you could call them Unitarians, but I don’t know how accurate that would be.
  7. I do! I collect Golden Girls memorabilia. I have a small curio cabinet filled with items and a box full of sweaters, shirts, and pajama pants with the Girls. One day I hope to get a little more serious and get some more expensive or custom items. What do you think the future of cellphones will be like?
  8. I have no interest in the Pentecostal church and can’t really identify with it anymore. I’d be interested in attending an Episcopalian service. I’ve befriended a Priest who sent me the Book of Common Prayer and answered a lot of questions I had about the Church. But I don’t think I could go to any Church, regardless of the denomination or style of service, without discussing beliefs with the Pastor/Father/Mother. You are right about people moving away from the more contemporary spaces. I think roughly half of the people that went to my Christian College have left the church completely or at least distanced themselves from the Non-Denominational/Pentecostal/Protestant-Other spaces. I know of the ones I’ve talked to, at least three separate people all said that Contemporary services feel subtly manipulative and unsubstantial. I think the draw towards Traditional or Liturgical services now is probably due to how simple and straightforward they are.
  9. Disney’s Hercules This movie is adorable. It’s witty, charming, beautiful to look at, and filled to the brim with likable characters and memorable moments. What stood out to me the most on this last rewatch is how silly and innocent Hercules is. It’s refreshing to see a lead character just be an earnest, good hearted guy.
  10. Contemporary services are what I have experienced the most. Looking back they seemed extremely too produced and unnatural. A simple Liturgical service, I feel, would be the most organic way to do it.
  11. Fine, more or less. Living that broke college student life. When I’m not studying or cleaning my apartment i’m playing old video games. So that’s nice. Whatve you been up to?
  12. Talk to your friends. It’s almost always worth it.
  13. Coming back to this place every few months is so strange. I was a very cringe person when I was 15/16. Things are so very different now.
  14. I remember when I tried to join one and whoever started it just said "nah fam its dead" Also, who still has facebook?
  15. Thought I’d drop by and see if there was any life left in this place. Turns out there is! Just thought I’d say hi and see what was happening. I might stick around a bit and be a returning oldie. Who knows?
  16. What's up nerds?
